0624 - V.1.0.5 Update Logs (AI Tweaks, New Treasury & Diplomatic Strategy)

Hi travelers,

Update v.1.0.1.1 is out now.

It's a patch that mainly optimized AI mechanics and addressed some gameplay inconsistencies and stuck that have been around in the recent patches.

In addition, we'd like to also introduce you to 2 new concepts "Treasury" & "Diplomatic Strategy". It features more options and orders to your NPC tribe lords when you have an independent tribe in the desert.

New Additions
New - When the player becomes independent, a new concept "Treasury" has been added to Intel Panel, Players can freely store resources into it, which will be used for the NPC tribe lord recruiting troops, building constructs, etc.
New - When the player becomes independent, a new concept "Diplomatic Strategy" has been added to Intel Panel, Players can order the NPC Lords to give priority to recruiting, constructing or both balanced.

Changes
Adjustment - Reduced collision range between arrow towers and siege weapons
Adjustment - Caravan's income is no longer a pop-up by a single notification, but is included in the the income brief
Adjustment - The interface for storing soldiers now has a new UI style

BUG FIXES
Fixed the AI navigation collision issues in the sieges.
Fixed a bug caused player assgined NPC lord will not actively building the contructions for the cities.
Fixed a bug where players could not automatically resolve failures after being defeated in Endless City Chapter 2

0621 - V.1.0.4 Update Logs (Auto-Navigation Tweak, Merchant&Hero AI Adjustment)

Hi Travellers,

Along with this new update V.1.0.4, we've done some changes to auto-navigation improvement as well as some tweaks for AI like merchant and heroes behavior balanced.

Meanwhile, we've also noticed some voices regarding the combat controls from the community. We're looking into it with a high priority and some first-try adjustments will meet you soon


[h3]Update Logs[/h3]

NEW CHANGES:
- Optimized and put more navigation lines in the system so that now will have more improved AI leads to the targeted locations

- Adjustment: The NPC merchant will weekly recover certain golds according to the town level, caravan buildings, etc., and set a dynamic limitation cap for it, which will not cause the merchant's gold's overflow

- Adjustment: After the heroes have been defeated, they will return to the nearby cities and enter a 3-day CD, in which the hero will not go out of the city to attack other people within the CD

-Adjustment: The main camp of the bandit will generate a small number of reinforcements every 45 seconds when the battle lasts over 3 minutes.

BUGFIX
- Fixed a display issue in the Party [details] UI

-Fixed the bug that the lord, who was assigned by the player, will not actively build constructions

-Fixed a text issue that The requirement of entering dungeons for Sol Warrior

-Fixed a bug where the favor change message would not pop up when trying to help two warring teams

6.17 - V.1.0.3.2 Update (Mods & Bug Fixes)

Hello Travellers,

In this update, we fixed a few bugs might be carried by the V.1.0.3 Npc Roles. It's mainly solved the MODs compatibility issue. Have a detailed check below:

Adjustment:
- "The Bandit of Umbra Cliffs" and "Find Rabia" now have the location hint
- Some quest status will be shown as "To be delivered", instead of ‘Completed’
- Removed the option of tribe rename for Sultan roles in Intel interface

Bug Fix:
- Fixed MODs compatibility issues.
- Fixed the wrong layer level of the Crying Rock map in Sandbox Mode
- Fixed the wrong layer level of Gobi's mini-battlefield map
- Fixed the an quest objective error in Akhal Sultan quest lines

[h2]What's new in the update?[/h2]

3 New Roles

Since v.1.0 launch, We're seeing lots of players desire to play with not only 9 characters but more. 
So...In the update we've added Husnu/Akhal Sultan/Rebiya, play as the leader of the tribe, to have untasted experience in the great desert with unique Skills, Troops and Story plots.





NEW Talent & Random Quests

New Talents, after receiving the feedback, we found that it could be timing for a talent remake in the update too. Meanwhile, we also added a few more new random quests and NPC reactions in the desert to match. New roles + New talents + New random quests equal to? A new desert journey!



FPS Performance

We also focused on optimizing the performance. Under the same screen display, The current version V.1.0.3 will have a higher frame rate performance
(Internal Test: With 1650 GPU, 10- 20% FPS Improved)

[h2]Wiki's Worklogs[/h2]

After releasing v.1.0, We realized that Sands of Salzaar should have more capacity and a basic lore base to serve more users who is new to this community. So in early May, we have our wiki plans: Basic Database and Fandom Wiki

Today we'd share with you a database in Beta as the initial moves, hope it could ease a few confusions the game probably would bring in the early stage. It will also be continually updated like LQA Work and we'd love to hear your voice too! CHECK HERE



Meanwhile, we also have our people to build up the Fandom wiki these days. So we'd also to ask the community to help with certain rewards to build our WIKI with UGC power. Lovely to see you in discord if you are interested!

[h2]Progress on English translation improvements[/h2]

The English localization for Sands of Salzaar has received another update focused on unifying terminology, clarification, and improved quest dialogs. 


As we strive to continually polish gameplay, the rich and winding storylines of the Great Desert will see further localization improvements over the coming months. We aim to release localization improvements roughly once per month, and are more than happy to hear both your suggestions and feedback on our progress!

Translation improvements in this update include:
● More improvements to dialogues and text throughout the beginning of the main story and Spiritmancer quest lines
● Hero skills have been adjusted to ensure that skill strengths and effects are properly translated
● Improved word-order & tone inconsistency issues in NPC dialogues
● Notable terminology changes
● Tribute is now called Devotion
● Clarification on Prestige vs. Favor - the system is now unified as Favor

We appreciate your patience and hope you are excited as we are to improve the overall quality of the English translation. The next localization update will see the continued concentration on skills, specifically those utilized by troop squadrons. We aim to provide the most immersive experience possible in Sands of Salazar!

- The City Lord NPC will change dialogue lines when player's in a different alliance

- Remade part of Talents settings

- Remade UIs, including Quest, Msg, Talent and Intelligence Interface



ADJUSTMENT

- A tweak of AI Merchants mechanic, now they will be in a more reasonable way for trading and selling

- Rename function is available for own forces at any time

- A tweak of siege map & added new modules like ground barriers in the war



- Optimized all weapons (except staff) melee attack mechanic

- Now the city lord will stay at the assembly point for a day when waiting for the reinforcement, instead of a march speed reduced

- The effect of Magic crystal "Wizard Armor" is linked to its own health

- Some of equipment icon artwork remake.

- Increased the HP of camp buildings

- All buildings are now immune to knockback

- AI will not declare war on the factions with more than 20 relations

- Added guidance for Quest blacksmith and arena fight in Fleur





- Removed the invalid potion dropped by the Frost Valley, now will be replaced as HP & MP potions


BUG FIXES

- Fixed an error that the trigger probability of the passive "flaming body" of the fire demon race is only 1%

- Fixed a unexpected error reporting when the Ace knight NPC moves

- Fixed an error that Passive Skill " Auto-immolation" the trigger rate is only 1%

- Fixed a few non-response errors when talkling to NPC

- Fixed a bug caused navigation lines didn't work functionally in Sandbox mode

- Fixed A bug where skills Motion Device could not trigger stun

- Fixed a bug where skill bloodsucker's effect was not matched with the descrption

- Fixed a bug where dragonfang didn't have a bloodsuck effect

- Fixed a few unmatched gender description

- Fixed A bug where you can directly enter the lord's hall when you are at war after self-reliance

- Fixed a bug where the dialogs didn't show up after sending gifts

- Fixed a few description issues, including skill % and Stats

Localization Update and later plans!

Hi Travelers,

The long march is ongoing in the desert! Today we’d like to share a couple of things in this blog: The process of EN localization & some teasers for upcoming new content!


[h2]1. Progress on English translation improvements[/h2]

A new localization version went live last Friday. In this version, we’ve proofread most of text/dialog/class storyline parts in the game. Here we would like to extend our appreciation to community players who submitted dozens of suggestions each on how in-game language could be improved.

But it’s not the final standard we pursue, the rich and winding storylines of the Great Desert will see continuous localization improvements in each of the updates leading up to the official release of Sands of Salzaar. We will keep it updated every month and it will be lovely to hear your suggestions for it :)

Translation improvements in this update include:

- Improvements to dialogues and text throughout the beginning of the main story and Spiritmancer quest lines

- Updates to various quest names and descriptions

- Fixed inconsistent code between the source and English text which could have led to errors with auto pathing

- Fixed inconsistent skill variables between source and English text

- Further clarification of terminology when talking about troops, squads, and parties

- Fixed issues with character name consistency

- Notable terminology changes

- Improved some word-order & tones inconsistency issues in the section of storyline & dialog

- Of note: March Speed is now referred to as Map Speed
