No-Man's Land | Comprehensive Update #2

Operation: Valor's Demo was released one month ago. We have received a lot of insightful feedback and we assure you, we're listening. The three of us have been hard at work squashing bugs, and filling the world with more interactable buildings/lootable content.

It will go live on Friday, September 27th, 2019.

New Weapons
TurVek ($300)

- The TurVek was inspired by multiple IRL weapons, modeled together by SgtStrauss. It is a very fast-shooting SMG, with the same accuracy as the MG9 with less damage output.

L12 ($600)
- The L12 is a semi-automatic weapon based on the M1 Garand. It has a high damage output, sacrificing for mag size. Our closest weapon to a sniper thus far, and the most damage out of all of our weapons.

New Lootables
New lootables: Laptop($300), Toaster($30), Wheat Cereal/Wheat v2($15), Canned Food/Beans($10), Microwave($150), Fish Cans($10), USB drive($100), Milk Carton($20)

New Locations
House Trailer - Three entrances, lots of loot.


Local Foods - Two entrances, used for tasks!


Mine Entrance Extraction - New extraction located north-west of the town.


Jack's House - Three bedroom house located south-west of our Local Food's Grocery Store.


New Map - All spawn points and extractions are now visible in the in-game map.


BUG FIXES
General:
- Reload only cancels when switching weapons (even when there is no weapon in the slot that you switch to)
- Flipped pricing of M174 and KP-22
- Players can grab money from other dead players backpack
- Re-implemented random tasks for every raid
- Changed water shader to improve performance
- New pond, fireflies and leaf/grass/dust particle effects.
- Fixed UNC floating over trailer
- Fixed not being able to pickup grenades
- Smoothed out cliffside due to weird baking issues
- Fixed all lootable prefab outlines
- Fixed most building renderers + colliders.
- Added Sounds to Lootables
- Inversed loading screen slider
- Fixed grenades not doing damage
- Added decals/sidewalks to map
- Shortened time scale for TimeOfDay
- Added soft shadows to all weapons' flashlights

Game Breaking:
- Fixed grenades not doing damage
- Fixed player duplication on spawn
- Fixed a bug where leaving a game through the in-game menu didn't disconnect you from the server properly
- Fixed default keybinds not working
- Players will not retain any money if they die.
- Player cannot cancel reload if the bullet count is 0, but can always cancel reloading if not

User Interaction/Interface
- Changed Keyboard UI to compensate for flashlight/remove crouching
- Fixed overall game audio in relation to footsteps/fire sounds
- Added region-selection reminder

Comprehensive Update #1

We have been hard at work to fix the many bug reports sent in. We are still earnestly seeking new bugs and our Trello API (Press F8 in game!) is working very well and we are loving the amount of feedback we are getting.

Here is a comprehensive list of all of our bug fixes, additions and requested changes to our game.

It will go live on Friday, August 30th, 2019.

In-Game
  • Clipping:
    - Bridges/Sidewalk heights have been lowered.
    - You should no longer be able to clip through the Church's walls.
    - Riverbed is now raised with smoothed out sides.
    - Fixed road clipping near gas station and Arlene's Diner.
    - Lowered Arlene's Diner's entrance for better accessibility.

  • Visual:
    - Added a new enterable garage and garden shed.
    - Small prop additions; watering can, flower pot, shovel, lockers and wheelbarrows.
    - Applied new flashlight values.
    - Added sidewalks that lead to houses.
    - Fixed huge smoke ground/object hit effects.
    - Fires now emit light.
    - Changed BTR/tree stump materials

  • Lootables: (Hope you have had time to gather some funds!)
    - Set Values: Crate($300), Safe($250), TV($225), Desktop($200), Car battery($90), Toolbox($50), Radio($25).

  • General:
    - Church pew now has a collider.
    - Game should no longer crash while switching weapons while in the backpack
    - Reloading animation is now synced with reload time.
    - Changed MG9 magazine size from 30 -> 17.
    - Player will not be able to shoot while menu is open.
    - Fixed Menu button not disconnecting player from game.
    - "V" Trailer, Farm Awning and other building roofs will now properly be disabled.
    - Changed default pistol 'Ruker' damage output to 12 dmg/shot.
    - Changed Pause Menu to "Continue, Options, Leave'.
    - Added back in-game options (not the advanced/keybind sections).
    - Fixed one UNC stuck in building.
    - Medkit in Ty’s Gas was moved, should be able to reach now.
    - Tent UNC camps now have a new model & material.


User Interface/User Experience
  • Keybinds:
    - Keybinds now save properly.
    - Removed not used keybinds and renamed some keybinds.
    - Added keybinds for the console and grenade.
    - Fixed binding mouse not working and removed ability to bind a single physical key to multiple virtual keys.

  • Options:
    - All settings now save.
    - Removed unsupported aspect ratios from resolution selection.
    - Added defining text to keybinds/advanced panels in options.
    - Changed Audio slider colors.
    - Ambient, BTR and fire sounds now apply as an overall sound

  • Visual:
    - Set resolution reference to 1920x1080.
    - Friends/Region/Queue panels should now disappear when in the Options menu.
    - Framerate will now be limited to 300 while in menus to avoid GPU heating issues.
    - Made Navigational UI on Main Menu brighter [as requested]

Known Bugs + Issues

Operatives,

Firstly, thank you for helping us test this game, we hope you enjoy it thus far!
As this is launch day, we know there are plenty of issues.We will list as many as we find below, and we will work tirelessly to fix them.

If you find anything that ISN'T on this list, please comment below.

  • AI will not fire at you. FIX: requires restart
  • Queue/Ready button will not work FIX: requires restart
  • FPS isn't limited on main menu, may cause GPU heating issues.
  • AI will sometimes shoot through buildings.
  • You will disconnect your entire party if you press EXIT and you are the host, after dying.
  • Weapon will sometimes glitch and not let you shoot.
  • Day/Night cycle will only start during the night time.
  • Game will crash after switching weapons.
  • Some roofs will not disappear after walking through them.
  • Some lootables are out of reach.


Remember, you can always press F8 to report these bugs to Trello API instead.

Demo Release TODAY!

The day is finally here. At 2:00 pm EST, the Operation: Valor Demo will be available for download. Before you merrily jump into the game, I have a few things I wish to say.

INTRO

Please note that the game is a WIP demo and it is only to showcase our abilities in making the game. The demo will be free forever, but will not have all of our game modes.
There will be a kickstarter. Most of the game modes that we wish to complete will cost us quite a bit of funds (servers, environmental artists, expanding our team in general, etc.). So, our main goal for the kickstarter is to hurry this process. If it does not succeed, we will eventually finish those tasks but at a later date.

FEATURES

For the demo, there will only be five weapons; the KP-22 (Rifle), M174 (Rifle), MG9 (SMG), P1912 (Pistol) and a grenade. We have many more planned; the SB-89 (Sniper), Maekpup (Burst Rifle), Famar (Burst Rifle), SHA-55 (Shotgun), and the L12 (Rifle).
For now, the only medication that we have in-game is the Med-Kit. It restores 50% of your health, and it takes 2 seconds to pick up. Similar to dropped grenades; they can be found around the map, but only meds cannot be picked up. Eventually, you will be able to buy medications and use them.
Outfits/clothes can only be changed by switching faction/creating another character. You will be able to customize them further later on.
Besides the outfit, there are no faction benefits/purpose to choosing a faction. This will come later, and will be a part of our kickstarter under our 'Faction War'.
There will be only two pieces of armor for now; the Kolhelm (Helmet) and a SWAT vest. There are many more planned.
We will be introducing a XP system called 'Valor' later on, which will level you up based on your actions and give you unlockables. For now, we only have the funds system.

TIPS & TRICKS
  • Use the middle-mouse button to orbit the camera, right-mouse button to aim. M is for Map, F is for Flashlight.
  • Looting is quick and easy, and (for now) gives you a lot of funds. You shouldn't run out of funds.
  • There is a very rewarding accuracy system. Shoot as if you're running out of ammo, and you'll win every fire fight.
  • TTK (Time To Kill) is different for every weapon and depends on the armor set. You can see the damage/armor stats in the Loadout screen. Every UNC (enemy faction AI, United Nation Coalition) and player starts off with 100 health. As you buy armor, there will be a damage reduction for every bullet/grenade.
  • If you wish to report a bug, give feedback or any other compliment; press F8 while in game. This will connect you directly to us, the developers, through Trello API.
