We don't know about you guys, but
we just LOVE all kinds of bestiaries, lorebooks, and guides 📚 Discovering long-forgotten secrets, viewing astonishing sketches, learning about the habits of mysterious beings, and of course
planning a strategy to defeat them are things every true adventurer dreams of! That is why we felt that such a rich and vast world as Meliora deserves its own unique tale. This tale may be quite
scary... yet very, very
interesting!
Ok, are you brave enough to face the
hordes of hostile, magical creatures? Sure you are! After all, you are a wizard, right? Thanks to the bestiary below, you will learn how to fight against extremely dangerous foes. Be vigilant and soon you will discover their
strengths and weaknesses, the way they fight, think, and move around the battlefield. Such knowledge can save your and your companions' lives, so take a deep breath, blow the dust off the ancient pages, and get right to it! 😗💨📜
[h2]Grunts[/h2]
Grunts are
the very core of the cruel forces you will face while playing the "Brotherhood" update. You can be sure you will encounter them on every single map, so you'd better be prepared... which won't be easy, as Grunts come in
many different kinds and forms. And it is not just about the elements variants (Basic, Fire, Frost, and Storm) but also their varied weapons and specializations! 🏹
Grunt is a
very versatile unit. It can attack you from a distance with its deadly bow or engage into the melee combat with use of a shield and sword. Each of them will effectively occupy your attention and force you to attack, protect yourself, or change your position. You certainly don't want to overlook the Shield Grunt, which protects itself with... well, a large shield. If you don't attack it from behind, it will soon get close to you and crush you with a deadly charge. Ouch!

[h2]Goblins[/h2]
Goblins may not be very big or strong, as their tactics are based on completely different traits. When you see a single Goblin, you can ignore it and focus on more dangerous opponents. Make no rookie mistake though and keep an eye on the upcoming Goblins - they will try to
swarm you with their great numbers, and if you don't get rid of them quickly enough, you'll soon be in big trouble! 😬 Their little sharp daggers can do a lot of damage - especially when they stab their encircled victim from all directions.
As if that was not enough, in addition to the basic version, Goblins can also use the powers of Fire, Frost, and Storm. They are a small target, but most often one hit is enough to slay them.

[h2]Darklings[/h2]
Ugh... these guys are annoying, you can take our word for that! Unlike Goblins, Darklings will try to keep their distance and
shower you with their deadly bombs 💣 When you start chasing them, they will simply run away in search of a better spot. Depending on their type - Basic, Fire, Frost, or Storm - they will use different kinds of bombs. They can do a lot of damage to you and your team, so be careful!
Fortunately, Darklings also have a few weaknesses. They're not very strong, so they can't throw their projectiles too far - one of the best ways to defeat them is to outreach them and get rid of them from afar. In addition, they are
not very durable units... unless we're talking about a Darkling Captain or Darkling Champion! They are significantly better armored than their subordinates and are able to throw much bigger, more dangerous explosives. Bombs away!!

[h2]Shroomlings[/h2]
They may look somewhat cute, but they're extremely dangerous. When a Shroomling finds itself near the careless victim, it rushes toward them and... explodes! 🍄💥 This heroic suicide blast doesn't just hurt the target, but it also leaves a menacing thick cloud. Due to its rounded shapes and short legs,
Shroomling is rather slow, which leaves us some time to react - you can either escape or destroy it from a safe distance.
But there is more... among the Shroomling tribes you can sometimes meet a champion! Champion Shroomling is much more poisonous than its minor brethren - it will leave a deadly smoke everywhere it goes and occasionaly release a
large cloud of spores! Champions are known for their slowness and high damage resistance. All types of Shroomlings come in numerous elemental variants.

[h2]Shamans[/h2]
In addition to throwing dangerous projectiles at players, its main task is to
buff and heal nearby units. Shamans can increase their allies’ health pool, provide elemental resistance, or place a totem to heal them. Hitting the Shaman will be a real trick as it can teleport across the battlefield. Even so,
destroying them as your priority target will always be a good idea - buffed units can prove to be much more formidable and difficult to defeat... not to mention that Shamans will heal them and thwarted your efforts to hurt them! ☠️
The shaman comes in the Basic, Fire, Frost, and Storm form.

[h2]Witches and Acolytes[/h2]
Acolytes are the
masters of elemental magic. Each of them specializes in a different field -
Fire Acolytes are known for their ability to inflict tremendous damage. Frost Acolytes use defensive magic and are very versatile. Storm Acolytes applies area damage and make Wizards to constantly change their positions. A challenge worthy of a true mage, so get ready for a demanding spellcasting duel! 🔥❄️⚡️
However, among your enemies, there is only one who has mastered the art of magic to perfection... Witches not only can use the vide range of spells (including dark Umbral spells), but also
create their own copies to confuse you and shower you with a magic projectiles. Defeating the witch is quite a challenge and it is best to attack her as a whole team!

[h2]Trolls and Battle Trolls[/h2]
When you hear his
heavy footsteps or see his gigantic body - be careful! This mighty beast will tirelessly
chase you and try to crush you, no matter what. The troll is a very resilient opponent and it will take many deadly spells to knock it down. Its secret weapon is the ability to throw huge boulders - being hit by such a missile could prove tragic! 😵
Battle Troll is a better armored and equipped version of this enormous giant. It may be a bit slower than the base type, but it makes up for it with its
exceptional durability. One hit of a Battle Troll can end the life of a careless Wizard, so make sure you always keep your distance from its huge, deadly mace!

Hostile creatures of Meliora will do whatever they can to make it harder for you to complete the mission and advance to the next map. Fortunately, now you know what to expect from them and how to survive their wrath.

your fellow wizards you will surely develop lots of interesting tactics and ways to defeat your opponents! If luck is on your side, you will reach the Boss map... and believe us - things don't get easier around there!
