Hotfix 1.0.91

- Fix mortars not engaging targets automatically
- Switch polish mortar crews to use correct mortar model
- Fix a few localization issues

"Iron Curtain" is Live

"Iron Curtain" update will be applied as a regular patch; if Steam doesn't auto-update Regiments to the latest version - just restart Steam, this will force it to look for updates. You can see the update installed successfully by the banner in the main menu (well, and the new content).

There are still ocassional issues with how Steam updates the game.
If you consistently crash on a specific Operation, map or unit - try re-verifying the files: right-click on the Regiments in your Steam library -> Properties -> Local Files -> Verify integrity of the game files
New Skirmish Mode - Static Defense
Hold the line!
In Static Defense, you start with noticeably more engineering points and all your units can entrench (though non-mechanized ones take longer to do it). On the other hand, the enemy will use earth-shattering preparatory barrages and strong attacks to dislodge you from the defensive positions.

If a zone is lost, counter-attack and retake it as soon as possible, otherwise it will be gradually drained of the victory points.
New Regiments
Five new Regiments enter the Skirmish battlefields.

7 Łużycka Dywizja Desantowa, Korpus Desantowy
A unit of Polish Marines forced to fight out of its element. It wouldn't be wise to underestimate it, though - its close-range prowess is unrivaled.

8 Pułk Czołgów, 11 Dywizja Pancerna
A Polish armored formation relying on massed formations of T-72 tanks - with a wealth of lighter units providing capable support.

Mot.-Schutzenregiment 7, 7.Panzerdivision
A DDR Motorized Regiment, already known by the "Doctrinal Approach" operation, with the BMP-1 companies as its main combat element.

Tactical Group 'Zenit', a composite unit belonging to the 8th Guards Army
An ad-hoc unit stitched together from the remains of several different formations. The catastrophic tank losses had to be compensated by whatever NATO armor the repair crews managed to salvage from the battlefields.

161st Motorised Rifle Division, apparently rushed from Carpathian MD
A third-echelon Soviet formation fighting with outdated T-62M tanks and BTR-60PB, its ranks bolstered by freshly mobilized troops - numerous, but under-prepared.
New maps
Rattle the many scenic locations of Fambach with the thunder of guns and engines.
Fight over an important supply route going between two lakes in Bichfroda.
New units
The update introduces a wealth of new units for Warsaw Pact forces:

- T-62M Tank
- BTR-60PB, SKOT-2A, SKOT-2AM, TOPAS, TOPAS-2AP Armored personel carriers
- SKOT-R3, TOPAS-R2 Command vehicle
- 9P133 Anti-tank system
- Osa-AK Divisional-level surface-to-air missile system
- RM-70 Multiple launch rocket system
- Dana Self-propelled howitzer
- Mi-2T Recon helicopter
- Mi-2-URP-G Light combat helicopter
- Mig-21 Jet in a close support role
- Star-266 Supply truck
- Mi-24D now sports the correct Falanga missile model
And many other additions:
- AI improvements - better group composition logic, better aggression control (a close objective will be prioritized over chasing player force)
- Improved vehicle movement sounds
- Crater decals in addition to the persistent map damage system
- DDR "Guards" squad removed - instead, DDR regular infantry bumped up to 150% survivability
- Helicopter ATGMs adjusted to have a much higher chance of targeting vehicles in a mechanized platoon
- HQ units now provide a bonus to allied units of the same side
- Further refinement of existing Task Forces, two new US Task Forces added, Wiesel-TOWs are now available in Skirmish
- Add TacAid Hit and Miss voice reports
- FPS Limit is now a slider instead of pre-set values to account for freesync screens
- Companies appear at the deployment zone in column formation
- Platoon Status panel lists the entrenchment progress
- Post-battle screen displays the difficulty level
- Lots of fixes

This is all for now, thank you for your continued support!

"Iron Curtain" Release Date - 18th April

The release date is settled and the "Iron Curtain" update will arrive on 18th of April.

In addition to the new units, you will also see some well-known platforms in unusual hands.
An ad-hoc battlefield formation, Tactical Group "Zenit", will bolster its ranks with captured NATO equipment, hastily repainted and re-marked.

"Iron Curtain" Update Announcement

We're back with some news.

Scheduled for the middle of April, the new "Iron Curtain" update will introduce five more Warsaw Pact regiments - including two Polish ones - and a wealth of new equipment.

The previous update, "Second Wave", highlighted the disparity between the amount of NATO and Warsaw Pact regiments available for Skirmish. In this situation, locking all the new Pact regiments behind a paid DLC felt wrong.

Static Defense game mode will be making an appearance in Skirmish. This mode will focus purely on area defense versus a series of strong enemy attacks. It will also feature a rule tweak - all allied units may entrench during battle, though infantry platoons still entrench faster.

The core game continues to receive updates: expect improved unit movement sounds and dynamic terrain decals, along with the usual variety of smaller tweaks, additional options, and fixes.

After the "Iron Curtain" release, a separate post will detail the current plans and changes for the DLC content.
