Leaderboards and an In-Game Leaderboard Display!

We are excited to announce that leaderboards are now available in Aim FTW!
  • Leaderboards - see where you rank!
    • There are 10 leaderboards:
      • 1 for each Mini Game
      • 1 for Account Level
      • 1 for Play Count
    • Rankings are near real-time. They update almost immediately after your match finishes.
    • A low score won’t affect your ranking! Only new high scores will show. If you score lower than your current high score while playing, the new score will not affect your ranking.
    • Play hard until time runs out! Your score at the end of the match is what counts so don’t let up until the match ends. This also means that you must complete the match to earn a new high score. Quitting a match early will nullify any high score you may have earned in that match.
    • Online Only: Leaderboards are only available while signed in. High scores are only counted for matches played online.
    • Seasons: We will reset Mini Game leaderboards in the future to ensure that they accurately represent Players’ current skill levels and eliminate stale scores. More on this to come...
    • Fast On The Trigger and No Scope Scores were reset to improve our leaderboard experience. We needed to change the way these scores were calculated and needed to reset all high scores.
  • In-Game Leaderboard (IGL) Display - immediate feedback while you’re playing to see where you stand!
    • See how your score compares to the competition while playing the game!
    • IGL updates in real-time comparing your current score to other player’s high scores so that you can see your rank and tier while playing. Use it as motivation to improve your score!
    • The display can be toggled from the settings menu.
  • Scoring Breakdown
    • Each score is based on the number of targets hit in each match.
    • Note: We will be monitoring the scoring system over time and may modify it to better represent player skill levels.

AIM FTW Update: New Settings

Hi Aim FTW Community,

Thank you for being a part of our community and playing Aim FTW! The first week has been super exciting and the response from you, the community, has been amazing. We have already implemented some of the feedback we have received and look forward to bringing you all kinds of new features to make Aim FTW better.

As part of our release process, we will be making announcements when we add new features and fixes so keep sending your suggestions!

We had 3 releases last week: our initial launch, a 2nd release on Thursday enhancing our algorithms to better learn from player behavior and a 3rd release on Friday with new settings / fixes based on community feedback.

Here’s a breakdown of the new additions and fixes:
  • Added a Mouse Input Setting with the options “Raw“ and “Smooth”.

    • Aim FTW defaults to “Raw” and we generally recommend playing video games with raw input instead of using smoothing. We added smoothing however, for those users who prefer being able to control their mouse sensitivity in-game.
    • Note that in order to use the “Look X and Y” sensitivities, you will need to select the “Smooth” option. Selecting the “Raw” input method negates the effect of the X and Y sliders.
  • Fixed an issue where the mini game loading screen was followed by a black screen for up to 30 seconds. Now, the loading screen will transfer immediately to the game environment.
  • Added an Ambient Sound volume slider to the Settings Menu.
    • This controls the ambient background noise present while playing mini games so that you can choose to disable it altogether.
    • We recommend keeping it on as most games have ambient noise and it is very useful to train your ear to detect sounds like gunshots and footsteps so that you can respond to threats before they find you.
  • Fixed a bug where the Master Volume slider in the main menu was not working in some cases.
  • Updated the Master Volume slider to control all sounds including weapon sounds and footsteps.
  • Fixed a bug where background music wouldn't play upon returning to the Main Menu from the mini games.

As far as new features and fixes on the horizon, we have the following in our sights:
  • Redoing the Assault Rifle Scope. There is an issue causing it to be darkened making aiming more difficult.
  • Adding more customizable weapon settings (2 are currently available: Assault Rifle Accuracy/Spread and Assault Rifle Rate of Fire).
  • Updating hit boxes to accurately reflect model visuals.
  • Adding the ability to toggle targets within games or removing them altogether from certain mini games.
  • A feature for customizing the game time from its current default of 2 minutes.
  • Translations (Chinese/Russian).
  • Adding Controller Support.
  • Adding Leaderboards and Mini Game-specific rankings.
  • Refining the Scoring System and making it easier to understand.
  • Adding a Sensitivity Calculator to adapt sensitivities from popular games.
  • Adding new Mini Games.

Let us know what you would like to see most (and if something else should be on this list)!

Good luck, have fun,
wInevitable
