This holiday season, cosy up around the fireplace while you tackle the world’s northernmost capital, building a bustling city where the North Atlantic meets the Arctic Ocean. Now it’s your turn to lend your city planner’s touch to this stunning city!

Enjoy a gorgeous glacial palette in day mode or dive into the fantasy-like colour of the elusive polar lights, famously called the Aurora Borealis!

This update also includes a few under-the-hood fixes and general polish, as well as the much-requested feature of being able to access the options menu from the pause screen.

Thanks again for celebrating our massive Miniversary birthday with us. We’ve got exciting plans for Mini Motorways in 2024, and we can’t wait to share them with you in the new year!

We want to take a moment to acknowledge what is happening in the town of Grindavik, Iceland. Our team has been keeping up with the news regarding the area’s hundreds of earthquakes and the threat of volcanic eruption – tensions and fears we are familiar with ourselves in seismically active New Zealand.

Our hearts go out to all those affected. We understand the damage and disruption these events can have on people’s lives, and Iceland is in our thoughts right now. Anyone who knows the process of game development will know that an update such as this one is built long before release day; nevertheless, we’d like to dedicate this update to the Icelandic people. We have long admired your beautiful country, and we hope our latest update can celebrate your renowned capital with the world through the lens of Mini Motorways.

If you’ve loved our updates over the last few years, we’d be honoured to have your nomination of Mini Motorways for the Labour of Love award at this year's Steam Awards! From the frequent free updates we’ve released each year to everything we have in store for the future, Mini Motorways has always been a ‘labour of love’ for us. And we wouldn’t have it any other way.

We’re capping off what might be our best year yet, thanks to the massive celebration of our Miniversary with you, our city planners. From our first-ever player-voted map to introducing train stations and crossings as obstacles (hello, Mini Metro!), we’re so proud of how far Mini Motorways has come.

Throughout all the years that we’ve been lucky enough to work on Mini Motorways, you all have been keeping us going. From requesting features and beloved cities or hometowns to helping us beta-test new game modes and hunt down those fringe bugs, this community has been an integral part of Mini Motorways’ story.

We’re honoured to have you all as part of our community, and we can’t wait to show you what we have in store for 2024!

The latest patch to Mini Motorways removes the bug report button that was only meant for beta builds.

The latest patch to Mini Motorways addresses a recent bug causing save game issues with the Busan map challenge titled ‘All Gas No Brakes’. With this fix, you should be able to resume your saved game.

We’re thrilled to commemorate 10 Years of Mini at Dinosaur Polo Club with a massive Miniversary Update across both Mini Metro and Mini Motorways!

New to Mini Motorways, we’ve brought over three of your favourite maps from Mini Metro: London, Mumbai, and the winner of our player-voted map competition, New York City! Our three new maps will add an additional piece to the Mini Motorways puzzle as you must plot your roads around their cities’ railway lines.

• From the East River to Central Park. Redesign the roads of New York City’s concrete jungle!
  
• Labelled as India’s own ‘City of Dreams’, how will you control the traffic in the bustling metropolis of Mumbai?
  
• Traverse the River Thames or recreate Trafalgar Square; London’s traffic is now in your hands in this brand-new map!
  

For the first time in Mini Motorways’ history, The Miniversary Update also introduces a brand-new building type: train stations. With careful planning and attention, you will need to keep up with the demands of these new challenges as you draw your roads around unique existing railroads in these three new maps. This update also features various improvements and bug fixes.

But that’s not all folks; why not cross the tracks to where it all began, as the Miniversary Update also introduces three crossover maps from Mini Motorways to Mini Metro. Now stopping in Tokyo, Lisbon and Warsaw, Mini Metro has never looked this colourful on its 10th Birthday! Capture your stylish Metro networks in-game with our new screenshot frames and GIF capture feature, too.

It has been an honour and a joy to celebrate the last 10 years of Mini with such an amazing community of players. No matter where you jumped on board, we hope you’ve enjoyed this decade long-journey with us! Who knows where our next destination might take us, but with you there, it’s made the trip well worth it!
