Play The Demo For One More Week!

Attention citizens!


You have one more week to play the Next Fest demo before we take it down. So if you haven't tried the demo yet, better hurry up. ᕕ(╯°□°)ᕗ

Additionally, today we released a new patch to make for an even better experience! You can find the list of patch notes at the bottom.

We did it! We hit our Steam Next Fest demo goals! As a result, we'll add the following items to Overthrown in our first update post-Early Access launch.

FEATURES
  • Added automatic translations for French, Italian, German, Spanish and Japanese
  • Added server password visibility toggle to all password fields
  • Added an issue tracker message alerting of an ongoing season change, during which performance can be impacted
  • Added proper icons for all buildings in the Extraction category
  • Added 2 levels of citizen taxation and military salaries and tweaked their layout
  • Clients can now set citizen taxes and military salaries
  • Clients can now unlock research
  • The gunpowder resource is now highlighted when the player is inside a hunting tower, and reload costs are shown as a popup
  • Added sub-objective tip to throw trees into the sawmill for faster production
  • Language names are now displayed in their respective languages in the options menu
  • Added proper icons for all buildings in the Military and Decoration categories, as well as for fences
  • Replaced the icon for the initial research in the research menu
  • Building lights are now consistently on only when there's anyone indoors
  • Town hall lights are now on when a citizen is ready to spawn from it, but can't due to having reached workplace capacity or any other restriction
  • Added hunting tower reloading VFX and a LIL MUSKET POKING OUT OF IT? o(≧∇≦o)
  • Citizen needs only start depleting after the Frontier Settlement research is unlocked
  • Amenity providing buildings' range is now shown when selected in map mode
  • Buildings' workers are now highlighted when the building is selected in map mode
  • Added a note in main menu when the current language is set to one that only has a temporary automatic translation
  • Disabled the walk toggle button when using mouse and keyboard. It'll make a comeback with better UI to help players avoid getting stuck in a walking state!



CHANGES
  • Insufficient meals/housing/outhouses are now all yellow-level issues
  • Level selection in the main menu is now a list, rather than a dropdown
  • Throw trajectory previews now show the amount that will be absorbed into storage when the lifted object can be absorbed by the hit object (or vice versa), rather than the amount currently in storage
  • The first season of a playthrough will no longer have an outlaw raid
  • Outlaw raids now require a minimum of 12 outlaws to be alive in order to begin
  • Tweaked civilian taxation and soldier pay UI for better clarity


BALANCING
  • Housing no longer requires Fuel
  • Reduced construction costs, spawn with less wood and no fuel
  • Greatly increased health for infrastructure (castle blocks, fences)
  • Oaks spawn more logs (SUPER REQUESTED)
  • Increased damage & repair by the player
  • Faster knockdown recovery for player
  • Muskets are a bit less accurate, especially against moving targets (if moving perpendicular to the shooter, not towards/away)
  • Outlaw threat escalates less in the 2nd season (on average 16 outlaws appear if the camps are full, down from 24)
  • Compass spots characters/creatures a bit further away
  • Rebalanced options for citizen taxation & soldier salaries
  • Updated ordering/categories for resources
  • Muskets are a bit less accurate by default (additional penalty vs moving targets reduced slightly)
  • Outlaw melee attacks stop tracking targets slightly earlier
  • Vertical central vision FOV increased for NPCs (more likely to instant detect nearby players above them)



FIXES
  • Fixed currently selected building's cost in the resource counter resource counter sometimes being cut short
  • Fixed tuskars having trouble jumping up two tile ledges
  • Fixed player being unable to rotate for the full duration of a shovel dig/fill while on ground
  • Fixed crown charge-thrown objects never being able to collider with the player again
  • Fixed the trajectory of thrown enemy characters not matching the preview when throwing horizontally or downwards
  • Fixed some buildings' menus being opened for the host when a client interacts with it, rather than for that client
  • Fixed kick button appearing in workplaces' interior menus for the worker even if there isn't one employed
  • Fixed enemies being aware of the crown across the entire map when it's dropped, rather than within a certain range
  • Fixed error on clients when new citizens spawn while the population tab is open
  • Fixed multiplayer lobby settings not carrying over correctly between various menus
  • Possibly fixed players being able to get stuck in a lifting state while lifting nothing
  • Fixed citizens attempting to fix damaged enemy buildings
  • Fixed freeze when NPCs attempt to fix a building without a construction cost
  • Fixed townhouse interior menu not showing serviced citizen info
  • Fixed building lights being able to overshoot their target intensity when framerate is low
  • Fixed shield blocking status not updating correctly when switching equipment while sprinting
  • Fixed being unable to show the resource list while in build mode when using mouse and keyboard (and hid the prompt in that case when using controller)
  • Fixed garden, farmland and orchard plots not being placeable directly adjacent to some building walls
  • Fixed clients being occasionally disconnected from the server when an NPC claims a job
  • Fixed fences not blocking NPCs' pathfinding, making them walk into them continuously
  • Fixed buildings that are unavailable in the demo appearing in the unlock list for some research
