UFS2 Playtest | Content Preview 1/3

Hello everyone,
In the beginning, we would like to apologize that we didn't post anything for a long time. We are all here, alive....we were just engrossed in work, focused mainly on fixing bugs and balancing the game over the last few weeks (which will not be fully possible without your participation in the tests).

*Nice Jump*

Thanks to the commitment of the Quality Assurance team and our dev team, we have made a lot of corrections and improvements over the last weeks, some of which are still being done.

Okay, I don't want to bore you anymore. Let's move on to the Playtests details.
WHEN?
Around 20-25 April. The date will be confirmed around April 6th, so take keep an eye out for "Content Preview 2/3".
HOW LONG?
About 4 weeks. We will roll out weekly updates. Each week one map will be changed for a new one, so you will be able to test a few of them. The current schedule looks like this:
 • Week 1: Jackson (USA) + Zalesie (Poland)
 • Week 2: Jackson (USA) + Slovakia
 • Week 3: Jackson (USA) + Kiel Canal (Germany)
 • Week 4: Jackson (USA) + Russia/Ukraine
BETA FORUM
As some of you may know, and some don't - Playtest users have access to the special Steam community forum where you can post anything related to the game.

What to do when you occur any problems or would like to share your feedback?
 1. Take a few screenshots or record a video;
 2. Create a new thread in the UFS2 Playtest forum;
 3. Describe your problem or write down your feedback;
 4. If you think it should be done in a different way - post your idea;
 5. Publish your post.

Don't be scared of posting negative feedback but it will be much more helpful if you could describe what you didn't like or is done wrong in your opinion. We will be grateful for constructive answers.
SURVEYS
We will also run a more complex survey than ever. And here I am asking you about one thing - should we have 4 surveys, one per "week" or just a complex one starting Week 4?

You will be able to:
 • Rate game UI/HUD/SFX*;
 • Rate gameplay;
 • Rate graphics*;
 • Rate 3D aspects (equipment, fish models, etc.);
 • Describe what you did or didn't like;
 • Add your feedback with your proposal of content or what is missing.

* 4 sections, 1 per map
WHO WILL ACCESS PLAYTEST?
Everyone who opted-in. You can do it > HERE <
Week 1: Jackson (USA) + Zalesie (Poland)
So - you already know the Jackson map but it has changed, especially in terms of fish species that you will be able to catch there.
Confirmed Fish Species for Jackson:
• Black bullhead
 • Sockeye salmon
 • Rainbow Trout
 • Smallmouth bass
 • Yellow perch
 • Grass pickerel
 • Redfin pickerel
 • Bluegill
 • Largemouth bass
 • Pumpkinseed

Zalesie (Poland) is a typical water reservoir in Poland. Not the deepest lake, in the middle of the woods with some characteristic species for this region.
Confirmed Fish Species for Zalesie (Poland)
• Tench
 • European perch
 • Asp
 • Common barbel
 • Common bream
 • Common carp
 • Mirror carp
 • Wild carp
 • Grass carp

Bear in mind that some fish species may be bigger or smaller if they are present on a few maps. For example, Rainbow trout reach max. 9.3 kg on Jackson and 14kg in Slovakia! So watch out for your lines.
EQUIPMENT
You will be able to use dozen of Rods, Reels, Lines, Lures, Baits, and more! AND there will be even more equipment for the Early Access release, so if you find that for ex. LURES behave strangely or there is something wrong with any of them just drop us feedback and we will try to change it!

*Sorry for Polish language on the image*

What can I say? We are finally getting closer to release and many of you have been waiting for it. We just can't wait to read your feedback and implement all the improvements!

Hear you soon!

Regards,
Rafał

TAKE PART IN STEAM PLAYTEST

As we are not sure if the changes we made were good and players will enjoy them we will run Steam Playtest for about 1500 players.

Everyone will be able to opt-in. I don’t know yet how we will approve player requests but we will just choose people from all opt-ins. Additionally, we will manually grant access to players that were active on our Steam forums :)

Additionally – there will be a HUGE survey and players who will complete it will take a part in the giveaway of:
 • 30x Ultimate Fishing Simulator 2 (Steam Key on Release)
 • 10x Ultimate Fishing Simulator Complete Edition (Steam Key)

We want to make sure that the game we develop was done properly. We won’t be able to satisfy everyone but we will do our best to listen to the community and do regular surveys about future updates.

When does it start?

Playtest will be run somewhere in February (or the end of January). We don't want to say the final date, as you already noticed - we have some developmental delays and we just want to give you the most up-to-date build with polished gameplay and free from bugs game (at least from most of them).

So...you will be able to opt-in for at least 2 months.

Once Playtest build will be ready, we will post separate news about it.

That's all for today! Take care, everyone!

- Rafal

[DevTalks #8] Map Reveal – Kiel Canal / Release information

Hey Folks!
We'll give you some interesting news today - unfortunately, not all of them will be positive.

A few words of introduction. We are coming to the end of 2021 - a really hard and busy year behind us. When you think that we planned to release the game at the beginning of 2021 - it was crazy! We're happy to have more time to polish our project, which needed a lot of polishing - and still does.

In 2021 we released a demo that could have been better. We've changed quite a few things since then including among others: the water system (based on survey responses), weather, fish behavior, water effects, etc.

We hope you will want to…

TAKE PART IN STEAM PLAYTEST

We will post a separate post when OPT-IN for Playtest will be open.
You will be able to opt-in for a few weeks. Beta tests will start in January/February if everything will go as we plan.

As a result, we officially announce that the game release is postponed to Q1 2022. Now, let's talk about the next map for UFS2 :)

Saltwater or freshwater? It’s KIEL CANAL

The Kiel Canal is an artificial waterway and a maritime waterway connecting the Baltic Sea (Kiel Bay) with the North Sea (Elbe estuary). In UFS 2 you are given a harbor waterfront that is pretty much urbanized!

This is an unusual or rather unique fishery. You will be able to catch both saltwater and freshwater fish here. And thanks to the fact that the channel is constantly kept clean, it is perfect for spinning or ground fishing.
FISH SPECIES
At the time of writing this post, there are 10 different species of fish on the map. They are:
 • European perch
 • Asp
 • Wels Catfish
 • Zander
 • Atlantic salmon
 • Common sturgeon
 • Sea trout
 • Atlantic Cod
 • European flounder
 • Garfish

But don't let the tranquility of this water fool you. Remember that this is an artificial channel and its banks are quite steep - that is why sometimes pulling out a big fish can be quite a challenge.

So who would like to go for a night fishing by lantern light?

Ps. If you think there should be other fish species on the map - let us know in the comments!

Rafal

[DevTalks #7] Map Reveal – Slovakia

*Cough* *Cough*
Ah, fall flu season in full swing! Fortunately, you can lie in bed and fish at the same time (at least virtually) :>

VITAJTE NA SLOVENSKU

Today we would like to take you on a journey to another country in Europe - Slovakia. Beautiful mountain climates and vast spruce forests - wild nature in all its glory.

A shallow, clean and untamed mountain river - teeming with life! Yes, it will be another river map, the development of which is dedicated specifically to fly fishing - but don’t worry, other methods such as spinning will also work here - if it uses floating lures (float or bottom will be also possible).
You will be able to walk everywhere in the river to spot your prey or just simply let the flies swim with the river current!

Probably you would be interested in what fish species could you catch in this river? In two words “Salmonidae heaven”. Just imagine this variety of colors!
So here it is, planned fish species for Slovakia:
1. Rainbow Trout
 2. Chub
 3. Grayling
 4. Ide
 5. Roach
 6. Atlantic salmon
 7. Bleak common / Bleak
 8. Huchen
 9. Brook Trout
 10. Brown Trout

And here are some excellent images from our 3D fish modeler – Adam!

As always – we are waiting for your feedback. If you think that we did something not right ex. Fish species don’t fit in a map; wrong lures behavior/type; etc. – just feel free to write it down and let us know what should we change!

Hear you soon!

[DevTalks #6] Map Reveal – Zalesie (Poland)

Good morning folks!
Some of you may know me as LiquidSnake, some will know me just as Marcin. Today I will replace Raintek and I am eager to show you the new map!

MAP

The first map you played in our Demo was Jackson Park in the USA. Today I would like to introduce you map called “Letnisko Zalesie” in Poland.

It’s a small natural lake located in deep woods consisting of, among others spruces, birches, beeches, and lots of shrubs. You can find here holiday homes for rent – and here is the name comes from “Letnisko Zalesie” translated directly would sound like “Zalesie summer resort”.

Lake is pretty small but next to it you will find a small, shallow, calm river. The fisheries may be small, but you will meet iconic species of Polish waters there.

FISH SPECIES

So, as fisheries aren’t too big you will be able to catch here up to 10 different fish species. They will be among others: Roach, Perch, Crucian Carp, Grass Carp, Common Carp, Bream, Chub, Asp, Tench, and Northern Pike.

FEEDBACK

Together with the team, I encourage you to write comments! Please share your opinion with us!

What do you think about the map? Is it good? Or you don't like it? What should we change?

Did you like the pike?

We want to IMPROVE! But for this purpose, we need your feedback :)

Take care folks!

Regards,
Marcin
