Total War Warhammer 3's frustrating bug streak continues as players get locked out of DLC units

Total War Warhammer 3 patch 6.3.2 might have saved us from its game-breaking campaign AI bug, but it's left some players unable to access certain DLC units that were previously handed out for free. The new issue appears to be impacting people who don't own the older entries in the series, causing some troops to be marked as 'additional content required.' Developer Creative Assembly says this change was "not an intentional one," and that it's looking into a fix.

Hotfix 6.3.2

[p][/p][p][/p][p]Hey folks,[/p][p][/p][p]We've just rolled out Hotfix 6.3.2 to Total War: WARHAMMER III, implementing the changes we’ve been working on in order to rectify the issues with Lizardmen and Tomb Kings AI.[/p][p][/p][p]We’ll be keeping a close eye on your experiences with these changes and their effectiveness, but our testing has produced positive results in addressing the issue for these factions. If you missed our blog detailing more about this, you can read it here. [/p][p][/p][p]Thanks for your patience![/p][p][/p]

[p][/p]
Hotfix 6.3.2
[p][/p]
What was wrong?
[p][/p][p]The recruitment issues present with the Lizardmen and Tomb Kings races where the Campaign AI was not recruiting units correctly and was consequently blocked from taking other actions.[/p][p][/p]
How did we fix it?
[p][/p][p]Hotfix 6.3.2 corrects two errors. Firstly, where the Campaign AI was not made aware of pooled resource restrictions on unit availability, and secondly adds an update to a previous change that caused a mishandling of stat gathering for zero cost units.[/p][p][/p]
How will it impact me in game?
[p][/p][p]With this update and the application of this fix, the Campaign AI will take those pooled resource restrictions into account, and will properly assess the value of the units they’re recruiting which in turn means you should see Lizardmen and Tomb King factions recruiting armies, expanding and fighting it out.[/p][p][/p]

[p][/p]
Next Steps
[p][/p][p]Now that we’re deploying this hotfix for the Tomb Kings and Lizardmen, we’ll be closely monitoring your feedback to identify any emergent problems that require further investigation.[/p][p][/p][p]If you run into any other issues after updating to 6.3.2, please be sure to raise them in our dedicated bug reporting sub-forum.[/p][p][/p][p]See you on the battlefield![/p][p][/p][p]— The Total War Team [/p][p][/p][p] [/p]

Prolific Total War Warhammer 3 modder says growing bug woes are "unacceptable"

In the wake of the latest game-breaking Total War Warhammer 3 bug, one of the most dedicated Total War enthusiasts and mod creators decided to leave a negative review on the game they'd put over 3,800 hours into. Naturally, this caught a lot of attention, so I got in touch with them to learn more. Randall Zaioczkowski, best known as 'Dead Baron,' is one of the founders of the Skeleton Crew Modding team, which has put out many impressive additions and fixes for the Total War series and TWW3 in particular. Despite remaining an ardent fan, he says "there have been so many issues I just couldn't ignore" in recent years.

Total War Warhammer 3 DLC to "take a back seat" due to game-breaking bug

What's the most important part of a strategy game? The presentation? The dinosaur warriors? The ability for AI opponents to recruit units? While the former two are nice to have in any game (yes, Saurians fit into any game), the latter is a pretty vital part of any game that wants to boast some semblance of challenge. However, Total War Warhammer 3 is currently struggling with this very problem, as some surprise elements of old code have caused errors that leave the Lizardmen and Tomb Kings in particular unable to recruit units to their armies.

Total War: Warhammer 3's developers are fighting to fix "a catastrophic failure in many of our AI systems"

All is not well in the Warhammer world. All is seldom well in the Warhammer world, of course - get off my lawn, Chaos! - but in this case, all is specifically not well with Total War: Warhammer 3's non-player campaign factions. Creative Assembly are postponing more details of the delayed Tides of Torment pack while they fix what the strategy game's lead technical designer modestly calls "a catastrophic failure in many of our AI systems".
