State of the game

Hey everyone,

Thanks for all your help and support when making Stratos. Unfortunately the sales weren’t as great as I’d hoped, so I’ve had to move my efforts away from the game and look to work elsewhere.

I believe I’ve reached a somewhat stable build and am reasonably happy with where it’s at. If there are game-breaking bugs, I’ll definitely try to fix those. Otherwise, I can’t foresee creating more substantial updates in the future.

Hey everyone,
I’ve made a number of improvements to Stratos as well as including a story mode. Hopefully it gives the player more direction!

New features
  • Multi-stage storyline
  • Characters and basic dialogue
  • More side-quests
  • World events the player can resolve, such as droughts & plagues
  • Several more props
  • Speech bubble conversations between crew
  • Fixed some crew stats
  • Expanded UI descriptions, including what the current weather is and the effects it has
  • Fixed up the map: villages are evenly distributed
  • V-Sync option

Small update v1.1.3

I’ve made a small update to Stratos which should address some issues users have experienced. I’m working towards a Story Mode for v1.2.0, so this update contains a few pre-requisite features, such as Captaincy.

[h2]Captain[/h2]
  • A member is designated a captain at the start of the game.
  • Captaincy will pass to another if they perish in combat.
  • Cosmetic actions – talking to islanders and using ship wheel.
  • Crew quarters & captain’s desk prop

[h2]Issues[/h2]
  • Remove floating arrows
  • Disabled UE4 VR plugin
  • Clarified some text
  • If a prop (chair, beds, etc…) is occupied, fire doesn’t destroy it
  • Corrected gear when selecting “Old Soldier” background
  • Stop battle music if fleeing combat

[h2]World[/h2]
  • Increased Mineral node spawn chance
  • ‘Crafting resource’ trader now in marketplace

Hotfix 1.1.2

Hey all, thanks for your patience as I try sort out some bugs. Fingers crossed it was done properly, please let me know if you find any other issues!

[h2]Crew[/h2]
  • Fixed some crew standing still when injured
  • Fixed injured crew not going to medical bay
  • Fixed crew being stuck after dealing with a fire

[h2]Props[/h2]
  • Furnaces should toggle properly
  • Fixed chairs some being immovable

[h2]Ship[/h2]
  • Fixed issue with crafting being stuck when removing an item from the queue

[h2]World[/h2]
  • Trader encounters no longer sell Gold
  • UI clarified when accepting quest
  • Marketplace purchase and price fixed

[h2]Player[/h2]
  • Switching camera to ship stops crew from teleporting back
  • Backstory now saves correctly- unfortunately this will likely glitch any existing victory quests

Hotfix 1.1.1

  • Addressed a bug I accidently introduced in version 1.1 that would stop eating & drinking.
  • Happiness doesn’t drop as much as it should.
  • Corrected materials cost for new rooms


I’ve been informed of a crafting issue, and building to a certain level, which I’ll be working on for the next update.
