Suggestions for the future?

Hey all,
I’d love to hear your thoughts & opinions on the future of Stratos. What kind of gameplay elements would you like me to feature/prioritize in upcoming updates?

Some ideas so far-

[h2]Encounters[/h2]
  • Increase the variety of encounters, e.g.
  • Pirates can intercept the player ship while travelling
  • Storms that can damage the ship

[h2]Story, Quests & Characters[/h2]
  • Create a Story Mode which drives the player through several steps
  • Different quest types, e.g. Collection, Bounty Hunting
  • Work on social immersion, giving the crew their own character, motivation & social relationships
  • Increasing the kinds of activities crew conduct, making relaxing and working seem more natural

[h2]World events & Mutators[/h2]
  • World-size events that occur randomly or as an option on a new game, e.g.
  • Drought – no water resource islands
  • Severe weather – blocks tiles and creates storms
  • Region prosperity/celebration – boosts economy, mining yields etc…
  • War / blockades- increased military presence, blocks tiles
  • Civil changes/rebellions – affects economy
  • Plagues – illness among crew

[h2]Factions[/h2]
  • Introduce custom factions with their own attributes
  • Affects seller costs & stock
  • Unique quests & rewards based on faction
  • Island relationships, e.g. farms provide food to villages, influences economy
  • Trade routes that create merchant vessels on relevant tiles
  • Royal hierarchies

[h2]Objectives & Achievements[/h2]
  • Turn the objectives into Steam achievements
  • More small scale objectives
  • More detailed objective rewards

[h2]Combat & Gear[/h2]
  • Synergy between weapons and armour
  • Improve tactics, e.g. taking cover behind obstacles
  • Bosses

[h2]World[/h2]
  • New islands, e.g. Towns, shipwrecks
  • Village names
  • More detailed island purchasing and management, e.g. resource production

Stratos Version 1.1 Launched!



Hey all,
I’m happy to announce Stratos has just been updated to version 1.1!
Main features include the introduction of special abilities, found on weapons & armour.
[h2]Combat[/h2]
  • Attach and defence of enemy units now scale with player level
  • Enemy fortifications- can only be destroyed by cannons
  • Obstacles – take up unit space in the arena
  • Corrected Bow & Arrow animations

[h2]Quests[/h2]
  • Weapons and armour are now quest rewards

[h2]UI[/h2]
  • Fixed some room descriptions missing
  • Crafting menu is better organized for navigation
  • Inventory menu is now a list, showing names of items & stats
  • Audio
  • Included some missing sounds for combat FX
  • Separate controls for Music, Master & SFX volume

[h2]Gear[/h2]
  • More weapons and armour
  • Unlock new crafting recipes each player level up to 19
  • Wands that feature strong magical abilities
  • Charms that improve passive stats in combats

[h2]Ship[/h2]
  • Training Rooms – An Entertainment room that improves strength of crew members that visit it
  • Crew
  • Crew no longer level up by combat XP. Each Stat is improved by conducting various tasks or being equipped with certain weapons in combat.

Stratos has launched!

Hey all,
Stratos has just moved out of Early Access! Latest updates include the soundtrack, graphics improvement and plenty of bug fixes.

Thanks for your support! I look forward to publishing more updates in the future.



Bug Fixes and Tutorial Update





Version 0.9.9 fixes some bugs & improves on the tutorial.

No longer need to assign crew to a particular room, just a role.

Individual Plants and Water Extractors produce resources, not just the room.

Hey all,

I’ve just launched another update to Azure, featuring bug fixes, material changes and tutorial improvement. Content-wise, there isn’t too much new included, but hopefully the gameplay experience will be a little nicer.
