Patch Notes: v1.5.1

This patch is focused on localization fixes and improvements. In the new year, we plan to return to fixing regular bugs.

ːufocampː UFO 50
  • Worked together with Warlocs (localization group) to fix text that was cut off or going out of bounds because of text limits. There are still some existing cases that we're aware of - we'll include fixes for those in future patches.
  • Made some slight tweaks to marked letters in our fonts to make them read better in non-English languages.

UFO 50 Soundtrack Now on Steam!

The UFO 50 Original Soundtrack is now available on Steam in both MP3 and FLAC formats! The soundtrack, composed entirely by Eirik Suhrke, features 331 tracks in total and is already topping the charts in nearby galaxies. Cover art by the illustrious mushbuh.

You can buy the soundtrack as part of the Game + Soundtrack bundle for a 10% discount (this works even if you have already bought the game and only need the soundtrack):

By the way, we're also working on fixing some more stuff for the game, so please look forward to another patch, either this month or the next. Thank you!

Supporting the Video Game History Foundation - UFO 50 Art Print

This month, we're collaborating with the Video Game History Foundation on a special UFO 50 art print, illustrated by Derek just for the occasion! All proceeds go to the VGHF and their awesome preservation work. You can find a link to purchase the print on their donation page:

ːufocherryː https://gamehistory.org/donate/

That's not the only way to support the fundraiser, however! From that link you can do a direct donation, join their Patreon, or purchase other exclusive merchandise. Personally, I've been really enjoying their vintage video game magazine subscription, which sends a random old game mag to your mailbox each month.

For many years, the VGHF and its members have done a lot of great work, like saving (real life) lost games, preserving art and marketing materials at a high quality, and bringing to light game development stories that would otherwise fade away quietly. If you want to see what they got up to this year, check out their 2024 Year in Review:

Given UFO 50's themes and the fact that we were already fans of the VGHF... we were really excited to get the opportunity to work with them on this. Check it out!
