Arcane Showdown is out of Early Access!

Greetings Mages,
We’re very excited to announce that Arcane Showdown is leaving Early Access! This is a thrilling time for our team. Arcane Showdown has been in Early Access since February and has come a long way thanks in part to all of your feedback, suggestions, and bug reports. We have a lot of new content in store, including a new season (which starts this week) and balance updates for October on the way. We’ll get into what’s coming up next soon, but we wanted to take some time to revisit our journey to 1.0. The last few months have introduced many new characters, maps, and features to the game, and we want to take some time to go over those additions for both new arrivals and seasoned Mages in the Citadel.

Guardians made a splash in update 0.10.0, bringing both a ton of personality with them and introducing quite a big shake-up to how our Mages build their decks and strategize against opponents. Ember, Grimly and Bloomling were the first arrivals to the Citadel, followed by Arthur and our most recent addition, Sockabo. We’ll have more information on Sockabo soon (and you may have seen her in action during our live stream today), but if you want a sneak peek, check out the Sockabo card preview currently in your card collection. Guardians are a lot of fun and we love how each brings a different playstyle and dynamic to the game.

We also saw the arrival of the Arcane Pass and our revamped quest system. The Arcane Pass featured both free and premium rewards to unlock including a new emote, Rune, and our first Guardian skin - Fancy Face Bloomling! The current season is about to come to a close, but don’t worry as we’ll have a new Arcane Pass season up soon that features new rewards, quests, as well as a new balance update to go with it. Keep your eyes peeled on our social channels for more info on that later this week.

This summer, we introduced Schools of Magic, which provides bonuses for players who focus on the several Schools of Magic found in the Citadel: Chaos, Dragon, Corruption, Elemental, Greenkin, Nature, Order, and Technology. Each school features several chapters that have rewards and bonuses for cards in that school. Those Content updates also ushered in the Rune system, which can be powered up to alter how certain cards play, and action-packed two vs. two battles (now with Guild support!). Stay tuned because we have many more fun additions in store.

A huge shoutout from our team here at Big Huge Games to everyone that played Arcane Showdown during Early Access. The feedback we received was really valuable to us. Thank you for all the bug reports and for sharing all of your tactics with the team and others. Special thanks to everyone who hangs out in the discord channel (if you haven’t checked it out, you should), we can’t wait to see that community continue to grow.

We’re very excited to enter this next chapter with you and continue introducing memorable new characters, maps, additions, and more to Arcane Showdown!

Thank you all again, we’ll see you in the Citadel!
