Russian localization

The new year has started really well for Imperiums. After successfully finishing multiplayer, we have more great news for you!
We can officially announce that Russian is now a supported language for the vanilla release.

Although the game is not out yet, we had received many requests from Russian speaking players asking for localization into their language. As a small indie studio with a limited budget, we decided to call on our community to look for volunteers amongst our supporters. Through our forums and Discord we asked for fans who would like to help us with the Russian translation.

First to respond was Lena from Minsk, Belarus. The translation, both in terms of topic and scale would be a first time experience for her. Due to the sheer amount of the in game texts, easily enough for a book, we didn’t even hope that she would be able to manage it alone before the release. Then by coincidence, Vitali also from Minsk, came to the picture. He is a big fan of Imperiums and a real hard worker who has dedicated most of his free time to our project. Recently the team got another new member, Genya from Ekaterinburg, Russia who has joined Vitali on proofreading and polishing the text.

Thanks to their incredible diligence and dedication we are already in the proofreading and play testing phase. They have even got ahead of some of the other supported languages!

Russian was originally not on the list of supported languages at all. This fact along with our rule "not to promise anything we cannot deliver" led us to think that finishing the Russian translation in time would be impossible. However thanks to Vitali, Lena and Genya we have managed something unbelievable. Just last week, they announced that the Russian localization is fully complete bar a few finishing off tasks.

So, Russian gamers, welcome to the realm of Imperiums!

A final interesting fact, you can meet our main translator Vitali in the game. The leader of the city-state Arkadia is Vitali himself in a Greek toga! We wanted to give him a special place in the game as our thank you for his tremendous effort in making the Russian localization a success.

P.S. Is your language missing from the list of supported languages? If you would like to work with us on its localization, please let us know. We are always happy to welcome people with a passion for our project to our volunteer teams. More information here.
