Update v1.0.1 - User Interface, Tutorial and Quality of Life

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Hello! We’re extremely grateful to everyone who sends us feedback about the game—please keep it coming. We read every review and turn them into tasks in our tracker.

Top Priority – Clarity

Our current top priority is to make the game’s interfaces as clear and user-friendly as possible. After three years of closed beta, we (the developers and veteran players) have grown accustomed to some of the old solutions, which aren’t always obvious to newcomers. That’s definitely on us, so even now, at 2 AM, we’re working on fixes and will keep at it!

Also, starting today, our experienced designer Ivan has joined the team. Early this morning we compiled a list of over 30 tasks—and the first ones are already done. Here’s the new update!

What’s New in This Update?

 • Tutorial hints added: the text now contains hyperlinks that, when clicked, instantly show the relevant city or country on the game map.
 • Hovering over the “Relations” icon now displays which factors contribute to the final score.
 • In the “Lenses” and “Buildings” menus, we’ve added tooltips with all the info you need to decide.
Text Size
We’ve reduced the size of text and UI elements in various game windows so that large monitors have more free space for the map.
Tech & Policy Trees
Zooming controls have been added to the technology and policy trees. Now you can zoom in and out on their elements.
Capitals
We’ve improved the readability of capital names on the map by increasing the font size and making the icons more contrasting.

Hotfix v1.0.0 - DLC Issue Resolved, And Other Good Stuff

What good Steam release comes without a patch note based on feedback from the players? Definitely not this one! But don't worry, we're on it. Here comes the first Warnament hotfix!

 • Fixed a bug that prevented unlocking of the Warnament Visuals and Animations Pack DLC, should be all good by now
 • Fixed an issue where the game icon did not appear on the Windows taskbar
 • Added a missing translation for the text "Badges" in the customization menu
 • Removed the "Add to Wishlist" buttons from the game, the bot's reminder in the chat to add to the wishlist. Also, the badge in the customization menu that encouraged adding the game to the wishlist has been removed as well
 • The community and machine translation sections have been swapped in the language selection menu, so that the full list of supported languages is visible first, and the community-contributed set and its translation percentage only appear if you scroll down

Warnament Is On! - v1.0 Is Available On Steam

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

This day is finally here! Warnament v1.0 is available on Steam in its full glory - with achievements, cloud saves, soundtrack, art pack, cosmetic items, and other grown-up stuff! It's time for you to get this game from your wishlist to your library:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1201700/Warnament

As for us, we'll take a minute to get nostalgic. Developing Warnament was quite a story!

Warnament began with Denis Makhortov, a college student who got desperate, waiting for the sequel to his favorite game to come out. So, he started making a game of his own, and he took the fanbase of his high school game, Cold Path, along with him.

At Luden.io, we never questioned Denis's vision: our role was to provide help with non-technical things, like art & marketing. So at its core, Warnament is still a one-man game. (One man - and his community of over 13000 players, one might add)

After 3+ years in development, the game has changed a lot. Join us on a little journey through Warnament's history of evolution.
2022
This is how it started! Yes, we used to play this:
2023
The first trailer! Check out those primitive maps and clunky interface (along with touching amateur voiceover):

The first Steam art:

The screenshots:
2024
In late '24 we released our first professionally made trailer, inspired by the ironic doumentary series ‘How to Become a Tyrant’:

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

A more professional approach required more professional art. Hence this gentleman, codenamed ‘The Grumpy Dude’:

That year, we spent a lot of time working on the UI/UX part of the game (while continuosly adding new content), and made the map look more realistic by adding borders to provinces:
2025
This year, perhaps the most notable change is the new map look. It changed so drastically, that we had to re-shoot our trailer from last year, so it would reflect the current look of the game:

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

At some point, we decided that it was time for honorable resignation of The Grumpy Dude. We wanted a more ‘strategic’ looking art. That's how ‘The Evil Grandpas’ appeared:

As for the game's looks as of today, we can't believe that this game grew from that janky prototype from 3 years ago:

Some of the maps from above were suggested by our community! Warnament is truly a people's game, and we couldn't be more grateful to you, the players, for sharing this exciting ride with us. It's just the beginning: there will be free updates, there will be more multiplayer sessions, and heated discussions on our Discord server. Happy Warnament! Until we meet again.
How to get more involved?
Want some more Warnament? We got you! Here's what you can do:

Of Map Editor And Where To Find It

Hey rulers!

Warnament relies heavily on its fantastic Discord community. Since the pre-beta days, Scenario Editor was available from the game, allowing the players to create their own stories on any in-game map.

But most importantly, we have Map Editor as a standalone app, which allows you to create your own worlds!

It may look janky at the moment (we'll fix that in time), and currently only available for Windows. But its features were tested throughout the last couple of years, and it's proven to allow creating amazing stuff! In fact, some of it is so amazing that we added them to the main game:

Europe Remastered - parkourcat

America - Jaba

World Map - ZacharyBachary

And if you tune in to the 'Maps' channel on our Discord server, you will probably find some more... extravagant works:

Liberty City - Konrad

Sun Path - Ратник

And you know what? If you want to create a map of your own you can do it right now!

How to get the Map Editor?
 • Here's a direct link to the app (once again - Windows and Android only at the moment)
 • Once the game is out, you will also find the editor in the game folder: open your Steam Library, find Waranament there, click it with your right mouse button, then select Manage -> Browse Local Files, and find the Map Editor in its' respective folder
 • If you need some guidance, refer to this channel
 • Steam Workshop support is also just around the corner, which will make handling maps and scenarios much easier

Go get creative, go wild! We'll be happy see your map in the game one day!
