Update Notes - 12/03/2021: [Pole Monarch] gameplay changes and BUG fixes

Hello everyone!
In this update, we have adjusted the gameplay mechanics of Pole Monarch's countdown phase and fixed some bugs in v1.0. We wish that we could still hear more feedback from our community as usual when you experience new ways to take it down. In the meanwhile, we are still improving game content including the Pole Monarch, some of which are supposed to be introduced by the end of this month, so stay tuned.

[h3]Monsters:[/h3]
  • Adjustments of [Pole Monarch]'s countdown phase:
    1. Players may still win the fight if they can deplete all the Shield of the boss within the time limit.
    2. Instead of losing the battle, failure of defeating the Pole Monarch during the countdown phase will lead players to the ultimate rage phase. Players can also win the battle if they successfully defeat Pole Monarch in this phase.
    3. Pole Monarch will now start the countdown when it only has 5% HP remaining.
    4. Decreased the countdown from 15s to 10s.

  • Optimized visual warnings for some of [Pole Monarch]'s skills.
  • Optimized [Mountain Guard]'s sprinting animation.
  • Added ammo drops to different phases of [Abyssal Serpent].
  • Added the reloading animation for [Mandrill Cavalry].
  • Slightly increased the movement speed of [Mutant Penguin]. They will get moderately closer to players in combat.

Update Notes - 11/26-27/2021: Tweaks and BUG Fixes of V1.0

Hello everyone!
In this update, we have fixed some glitches, adjusted and optimized some gameplay-wise designs in v1.0. We truly appreciate every piece of feedback and suggestions from you after the launch of v1.0. More adjustments and optimizations are testing internally. Please offer us a little more time to polish the v1.0 into a better one. Thank you all for your support!

Update Notes:

[h3]Monsters:[/h3]
  • [Pole Monarch]:
  1. Optimized visual warnings of boss's some skills to help players make full preparations.
  2. Optimized the special effects of the vulnerable aura containers which the Pole Monarch absorbs the aura from.
  3. Fixed the issue of frame drops in this battle.
  4. Removed the ability of summoning monsters.
  5. Optimized screen shake effect of some boss's skills.
  6. Fixed an issue where the final phase could be bypassed.
*The adjustments in terms of win/loss judgement in the final phase are still under development. These adjustments will be gradually introduced in the next couple of updates. Thanks for your understanding.

  • Added the logbook entry of [Mutant Penguin] in [Mandrill Cavalry] .
  • The [Elite Mandrill Cavalry] will now stop charging if it encounters blocks.
  • Adjusted the DMG detection range of [Mutant Penguin] to be consistent with special effects.


[h3]Occult Scrolls:[/h3]
  • Tweaked the drop rates of some scrolls.


[h3]Spiritual Blessings & Reincarnation:[/h3]
  • Adjusted the challenges in [Reincarnation - Level 8].
  1. Removed:"Monsters will rage and gain immunity to death upon taking lethal DMG. They will be defeated only when all monsters enter the rage phase."
  2. Added:"Monsters will not leave immediately even if they have been defeated."
  3. Rewards Adjustment: In addition to a golden goblet, a legendary scroll will also be granted after completing the challenge "Innumerable elite monsters are coming!"
  4. Optimized: The area that can trigger challenge and the monster combinations related to the challenge event "Innumerable elite monsters are coming!" have been optimized.
  5. Quantity Adjustment: Reduced the number of challenges in Act 1, and increased the number of challenges one would encounter in Act 3 & 4.
  • While carrying the blessing [Craftsman's Inheritor] and you reach the scroll limit, the stack-based scrolls in your backpack, such as [Dual-edge],[Veteran], etc., will not be replaced first.

  • Added new routes in[Hyperborean Jokul - Stage 2].
  • The peddler in [Hyperborean Jokul] will sell Occult Scrolls to players now.
  • A golden goblet and a legendary scroll will be dropped after defeating the boss in [Duo Fjord].
  • [Peculiar Chests] will appear in [Hyperborean Jokul] now.


[h3]Anti-cheat:[/h3]
  • Optimized anti-cheat system. Players can now report a cheating player via team information panel in the game.


[h3]Weapons:[/h3]
  • Optimized firing special effects of some weapons.
  • Optimized firing animation of [Angelic Aura].
  • Optimized special effects occurred when players hit some barriers in [Hyperborean Jokul] with the weapon skill of [Poisonous Ghost].


[h3]UI:[/h3]
  • Added an option which can adjust the method to display cursor with a controller. (L3 by default)
  • Added confirmation pop-up when attempting to return to the inn after beating the boss in [Duo Fjord].
  • Optimized special effects of corrupted golden goblet in [Hyperborean Jokul].

  • Optimized visual feedback of [Qian Sui]'s secondary skill [Striking Punch].


[h3]Audio:[/h3]
  • Optimized sound effects of some monsters spawn in [Hyperborean Jokul].


[h3]BUG Fixes:[/h3]
  • Fixed some spots in [Hyperborean Jokul - Stage 1] that may cause players to get stuck.
  • Fixed an issue where players may get stuck at a portal in [Hyperborean Jokul - Stage 1].
  • Fixed a spot in [Longling Tomb - Stage 3] that may cause players to get stuck.
  • Fixed an issue where players may get stuck at a portal in [Duo Fjord - Stage 3].
  • Fixed an issue where monsters in [Duo Fjord - Stage 2] may not spawn.
  • Fixed an issue where the game may be muted after the victory over [Pole Monarch].
  • Fixed an issue where the monster [Jade Gunner] may keep moving at the same spot when they start to engage in a battle.
  • Fixed an issue where existing monsters in an area may stop performing any action if [Elite Thunderous Stalker] or [ICHTHYOSAURUS OFFSPRING] is alive.
  • Fixed an issue where the artillery shell cannot be picked up in the boss fight against [YORUHIME-MARU].
  • Fixed an issue where the pillars may not disappear after [Golem] is defeated.
  • Fixed an issue where teammates' audio may become abnormal when [Tao] has the ascension [Blade of Bloom] triggered.
  • Fixed an issue where teammates' audio may become abnormal when [Qing Yan] hit an enemy with his secondary skill.
  • Fixed an issue where the model of [Qian Sui]'s hands may be missing after he retracts [Tidal Aspis].
  • Fixed an issue where the ascension [Solid Shell] of [Qian Sui] may be invalid after getting knocked down and revived.

  • Fixed an issue where the achievement "1-Life Clear" may not be unlocked under certain circumstances.
  • Fixed an issue where the crosshair may abnormally display aim color without aiming at any target under certain circumstances.
  • Fixed an issue where gun comparison has Chinese characters instead of chosen language at a peddler/phantom peddler while using a controller.
  • Fixed abnormal behavior while saving keymapping options.
  • Fixed an issue where corrupted golden goblets may abnormally appear in Act 1-3 of daily challenges.

  • Tweaked battle experience in [Hyperborean Jokul - Stage 1,2].
  • Optimized performance of some locations in [Hyperborean Jokul].
  • Fixed abnormal spawn locations for elite monsters in [Hyperborean Jokul - Stage 2].

An update regarding the tweaks and optimizations of V1.0

Hello everyone!
First of all, in the past couple of days since the release of V1.0, we have revisited and rethought some of the game designs based on your suggestions and feedback. Now that we are tweaking and fixing a variety of major issues, we believe it's a right time for us to communicate with our community in advance in order to gather more valuable views from you. We admit that the current V1.0 we have delivered does not meet your expectations and we must take actions swiftly to get our game back on track. The following are some of the priorities:

1. Pole Monarch
  • The win/loss judgement in the final phase will be changed. The current standard, which is a DPS check within a short period of time, will no longer be the only factor to judge the fates of players.
  • Some of the boss's skills will have optimized visual warnings to players to help them make full preparations.
  • Other breakable objects in the area will be improved to provide better visual clues.
2. Reincarnation
  • We will adjust some challenges in [Reincarnation - Level 8] that are not quite reasonable, offering nothing but a poor experience to our players.
  • The rewards in reincarnation mode will be improved.
3. Anti-cheat System:
  • The detection of the anti-cheat system will be further polished and we would abandon some procedures that may falsely ban innocent players.
4. Multiplayer:
  • We have been fetching and analysing network latency data and will keep improving the multiplayer experience.
5. Hyperborean Jokul:
  • Some clipping issues will be fixed.
  • The issue where some monsters may be located undergrounds will be fixed.
  • Environmental elements will be enriched and map designs will be improved to indicate better orientation.
  • The combat rhythm and variety of monsters spawn in Act 4 will be tweaked.
  • New routes will be added.
6. Others:
  • Killing the boss in Act 3 will grant a golden goblet and some occult scrolls as usual.
  • The adjustments of rewards in Act 4 will happen.

In addition to optimizations mentioned above, you may leave your feedback if you find anything else critical and we should take care of immediately.

Gunfire Reborn is basically roguelike Borderlands, and it's just left Early Access

Gunfire Reborn had a quiet launch into Steam Early Access back in May 2020, but after a few updates, its combination of Borderlands-style loot shooting and elements of roguelike games drew players in by the tens of thousands. Now it's finally out for real, and it's continuing to keep those players coming back.


You take control of a hero character with their own special abilities, picking up randomly-generated weapons as you blast your way through randomly-generated levels - either on your own, or in co-up for up to four players. In strict genre terms, this is a roguelite, as you'll regularly unlock additional options to start new runs in new ways.


"V1.0 indicates the end of Early Access and a new beginning," as the devs explain in the launch announcement. "The current version still needs to be further improved, but we have faith in polishing the game into a better one that will satisfy you all through unceasing tweaks and updates. We will appreciate every piece of feedback and suggestions from you as always and never stop to improve the game."
