Update Notes - 7/2/2021: New spiritual blessings and BUG fixes

Hello everyone~
In this update, we have added some spiritual blessings and enhanced occult scrolls. Some issues, which occur in the Summer version, are resolved in this patch. We are working on improving the [Reincarnation] difficulty and tweaking [Abyssal Serpent], which are expected to be optimized in the version at the end of this July.   • Optimized [Tao]'s model

[h3]Spiritual Blessings and Occult Scrolls:[/h3]
1.New Spiritual Blessings:
  • Painkiller(Universal): Convert all elemental effects applied to the hero to buffs with opposite effect
  • One Dog Army(Ao Bai): When not dual-wielding, +150% weapon and skill DMG, -20% DMG taken and +3%/s HP recovery
  • Oppressor (Qing Yan): When your current HP% is greater than or equal to that of an enemy, deal additional 150% DMG to them; Otherwise, take 30% less DMG from them
  • Sword Mastery (Tao): You can stack "Blade Heart" even when [Swords Out] is on cooldown
  • Ice Blade (Tao): Deal an additional 10% of enemy's current HP as True DMG (Up to 5,000 True DMG) upon hitting an enemy with a flying sword
  • Blossom Enthusiast (Tao): -8 hits required to trigger [Fatal Bloom] additional DMG
  • A good man (Universal): After reviving a teammate, gain a buff for 20s. Grants +2%/s HP recovery, +20% movement speed and +30% weapon and skill DMG with the buff
2.New Enhanced Occult Scrolls:
  • [Enhanced] Mystic Mirror: Apply "Yang" status to yourself after dealing DMG to an enemy, which grants +50% weapon & skill DMG for 12s. Apply "Yin" status to yourself after taking DMG, which grants -20% DMG taken for 12s
  • [Enhanced] Elemental Cube: Two elements are randomly designated upon reloading. Grants +50% elemental DMG to both elements and doubles the chance for players to trigger corresponding elemental effect.
  • [Enhanced] Dual-edge: Gain 1% DMG dealt and 0.2% DMG taken(up to +20% DMG taken) for each enemy you kill.
  • [Enhanced] Ammo Belt: +150% Ammo Capacity
  • [Enhanced] Snow Boots: Gain immunity to the Slow Effects and DMG taken from traps.
  • [Enhanced] Ninja Invincibility: For each second that player doesn't deal any DMG with weapons, +10% weapon DMG (up to 100%).
  • [Enhanced] Deadly Counter: After taking damage, all hits will become Crit Hits within 6s.
  • [Enhanced] Silver Medal: Your shield starts recharging with +50% shield recovery speed when you kill an enemy or destroy an item.
  • [Enhanced] Gold Medal: Recover 15% Max Shield/Armor when you use Primary Skill, Secondary Skill or Dash.
  • [Enhanced] Magic Magazine: When reloading, there is a 33% chance that no reserve ammo is used. And recovers spare ammo equivalent to the magazine size
  • [Enhanced] Genesis: When shooting, there is a 30% chance to add extra ammo into the magazine.
  • [Enhanced] Penetration Bullet: Crit hits deal full DMG directly to enemy's HP rather than Shield/Armor
  • [Enhanced] Elemental Convergence: +15% elemental DMG for each nearby enemy with Elemental Effect.
3.Occult Scroll Adjustments:
  • Removed the scroll [Coins of Life]
  • Adjusted the possibility of obtaining different amounts of occult scrolls while picking up [Mysterious Chest]

  • Optimized status icon names of enhanced occult scrolls
  • Added a cooldown timer status icon for the talent [Life Guardian]
  • Optimized icons of some [Tao]'s ascensions
Special Effect & Model:
  • Tweaked heroes' heights so that heroes' feet could be fully displayed when standing on the flat ground
  • Optimized special effect of charging when Ichthyosaurus Offspring summons poisonous ball
  • Optimized [Ichthyosaurus Offspring]'s appearence cutscene
  • Added on-screen water-drop special effect for players in the area when [Abyssal Serpent] sweeps the floor with sea waves
  • Optimized special effect of the ascension [Nova Release] and the occult scroll [Thunder Screen]

  • Fixed an issue where the status icon of [Field Support] may not be displayed

In this update, we have optimized Tao’s model. Thanks for your interest in Tao and for providing us with many useful suggestions about this new hero.
Tao is our first heroine, and the first release version is not as perfect as expectation. We will continue to optimize this new hero.

The First Female Hero [Tao] Meets You in the Summer Version - 6/18 Update notes


Hello Everyone!
The 2021 summer version meets you as scheduled.

In this update, we've introduced a new hero (the first female hero:), new weapons, a new random boss, revamped talent system, new occult scrolls, reincarnation difficulty, and more. In addition, we have good news to share: Gunfire Reborn has sold over 1.5 million copies! We will continue our work and present you with more awesome content in this winter.   • Introduction:
    Tao, who is a master in the art of sword control, is keen to manipulate her royal flying sword to strike all foes. Meanwhile, she can condense her energy into petals, dealing hidden injuries against enemies with her [Fatal Bloom]


  • Unlock Requirement:Spend 400 soul essences

  • Skills:
    1.Primary Skill (E): Swords Out
    Unsheathe multiple flying swords, each dealing 200 DMG. The number of flying swords is determined by the stacks of [Blade Heart]. Each stack can summon 3 flying swords. For every 15 ammo consumed, gain 1 stack of [Blade Heart] (up to 6 stacks)


    2.Secondary Skill (Q): Fatal Bloom
    Summon petals in the front that explode outwards, marking all enemies within 6 meters and dealing 400 damage. The mark lasts for 6 seconds. [Fatal Bloom] deals DMG to a marked enemy again every time you hit it 12 times


  • Talents:
    1.Blade in Heart: +5% [Swords Out] DMG for every [Blade Heart] you have
    2.Galloping Speed: For each enemy you kill, +10% movement speed for 8s (up to 5 layers)

  • There are two new NPCs in reincarnation difficulty:
    Spiritual Remnant: appear at the entrance of each act in reincarnation difficulty, you can consume soul essences to obtain spiritual blessing which will enhance your attributes
    Phantom Peddler: randomly appear in stages of reincarnation difficulty, you can consume soul essences to buy enhanced weapons and occult scrolls

Summer Major Update Preview & Early Access 1-year Anniversary Thank-you letter

With summer just around the corner, the scheduled 2021 Summer Major Update is soon to be available free to all players. Based on the current development progress, we decide to release the major update on Jun. 18th.

The new features in this major update include: a long-anticipated heroine, a new random boss in Act 3, new weapons and adjustments to some legacy weapons, new occult scrolls and Talent 2.0. We're still tweaking and adjusting the new content, especially the new talent system. As of now, the current version of the newly-introduced features are still yet to meet our quality standard. With that being said, we will speed up the development process and strive to present the most satisfactory content as possible.

This month marks the first anniversary of the Early Access release of Gunfire Reborn. Looking back on the past year, we have gone through many ups and downs together, and the most invaluable gift we have received along the way is the devoted support and love from over 1-million players worldwide. This is the most effective catalyst for us to continue this wild ride with you. Thank you again for your feedback and love! We’ll keep on improving the game and delivering more exciting content in the future.

Update Notes - 4/29/2021: Adjustments on Qing Yan, Ao Bai, weapons & scrolls

Hello everyone!
In this update, we have adjusted some Qing Yan’s and Ao Bai’s ascensions, added a new daily challenge theme, and optimized Wind God and some occult scrolls. Meanwhile, we are still looking forward to your feedback and suggestions. Our main focus is to develop new content as usual, so we may need more time to fix bugs and optimize the game. The next major update, which includes a new hero, a new boss, new weapons and more, will be released this summer. Please stay tuned.

[h3]Hero:[/h3]
  • Adjusted Ascensions of [Qing Yan]:
    (1)Elemental Power→All or Nothing
    Original: Leap DMG converts to elemental DMG with 50% Elemental Effect Chance
    New: Consume all armor when hitting an enemy with a leap. For every armor consumed, increase Leap DMG by 0.8%
    (2)Last Stand: After the armor breaks, increase weapon DMG and skill DMG by 20%/35%/50%→30%/60%/100%
    (3) Nova Release: The Lv.1 and Lv.2 ascension will also cast a Nova that damages surrounding enemies when the armor is broken. The DMG caused by Nova is equal to 20/35/50 times the max armor. The duration of the max armor bonus is now calculated independently per stack instead of refreshing entire duration.
    (4)Death Mark:
    Original: Leave a death mark for 4/5/6s for each enemy you hit with cleave.Enemies with death mark take +20%/30%/40% DMG. Movement speed +20%/25%/30% for 6/6/10s after you kill an enemy with death mark.
    New: Leave a death mark on each enemy you hit with cleave for 4/5/6s. Enemies with the mark receive additional 20/40%/60%% DMG from you (DMG bonus also applies to the cleave that leaves the mark). Movement speed +20%/25%/30% for 6s/6s/10s after you kill a marked enemy
    (5)Armor Enhancement:
    Original: Max Armor +30/60/100, Movement Speed +10%/20%/30%, for 6s after a leap
    Lv3 Ascension: Has 25% chance of be invincible for 0.5s when attacked
    New: When leaping, gain max armor +30/60/100 and +10%/20%/30% movement speed for 6s
    Lv3 Ascension: When injured during this period, there's a 25% chance to become invulnerable for 0.5s

  • Adjusted Ascensions of [Ao Bai]:
    (1)Last Shot→Ember Eruption
    Original: Weapon DMG +50%/75%/150% for the last shot in magazine
    New: When the remaining ammo in the magazine is not more than 30%/40%/50% (or only 1), increase weapon DMG by 40%/80%/120%
    (2)Unleashed Potential:
    Original: While dual-wielding, first 5/7/9 shots deal +100%/150%/200% DMG
    New: During dual-wielding, gain +3% weapon DMG and +1% lucky shot chance every 0.5s with continuous firing (up to 20 times). Lose 15% weapon DMG bonus and 5% lucky shot chance bonus every 0.5s when not firing, until all bonuses are lost
    (3)Grenade Master:
    Original: Grenades Capacity +2/4/6; 30%/35%/60% chance of not consuming a grenade
    New: Explosive Grenade Base DMG +100%/150%/200%; there is a 30%/35%/60% chance of not consuming a grenade
    (4)Mad Bomber:
    Original: Explosion DMG +30%/45%/60%, and gain immunity to explosion DMG
    New: Explosion DMG +20%/40%/60%, and +5%/7%/9% explosion DMG this time for each enemy you hit with explosive weapons or explosive grenades
    Lv 3 Ascension: for each enemy hit by explosion, +9% chance of dealing double DMG
    (5)Adrenal Rush: additionally recover 1%/1.5%/2% HP during this status
    (6)Precise Explosion:
    Original: Explosion DMG +50%/75%/100% if grenades and explosive weapons deal DMG to 1/1/≦3 enemies
    New: +30%/45%/60% DMG if grenades or explosive weapons deal DMG to 1/1/≦3 enemies
    (The DMG bonus is now multiplicative)
    (7)Survival Instinct:
    Original: While dual-wielding, Max HP +50/100/150
    Lv3 Ascension: Get 50% chance of recovering HP equivalent to DMG taken
    New: +20/40/60 Max HP. During dual-wielding, Max HP bonus is doubled
    Lv3 Ascension: There's a 50% chance of recovering HP equivalent to DMG taken when injured


[h3]Weapons:[/h3]
    Balancing Changes:
  • [Thunder Storm]
    Adjusted to full-automatic weapon
    Optimized the animation during shooting
    Increased the explosion range of the lightning ball, which is summoned by the weapon skill, when the ball hits the enemy directly (1m->3m)
    Increased the speed of the lightning ball which is summoned by the weapon skill (16→20)
    The explosion range and DMG caused by the lightning ball would now be affected by [Ao Bai]’s ascension
    The explosion range caused by the lightning ball increased to 5m
    The lightning ball could no longer remove elite monsters’ shields

    Original: +50% weapon DMG when your Secondary Skill count is 0
    New: +50% weapon DMG for at least 12s when the secondary skill count is 0
  • [Safety Measures]
    Original: After dashing recover 30% of HP lost in the last 1s
    New: Dashing after being injured recovers 50% of total DMG taken within 1s
    Note: You can repeatedly dash multiple times to receive healing within 1 second

    Original: +10% DMG for each Cursed Scroll you own.
    New: For every cursed scroll you own, gain +15% weapon DMG and +20% skill DMG
  • [Hidden Treasure]
    Original:Destroying breakable objects may bring you coins
    New:Breakable objects drop coppers with a lower chance of dropping buns and soul essences when destroyed
  • [Generosity]
    Original:After picking up a bun, all nearby teammates within 15m will receive 33% of the healing as well

    Speed (Normal/Elite/Nightmare): 5/6/7 m/s → 5.5/6/6.5 m/s
    DMG (Normal/Elite/Nightmare): 5/7/9 tick/0.25s → 5/6/7 tick/0.25s
    (3)Reduced DMG taken by [dive attack] of [Wind God] by 10%
  • [Yoruhime-Maru] balancing changes:
    (1)Catfish Warriors in the area would be removed when entering the final phase
    (2)Adjusted the skill frequency when the HP of [Yoruhime-Maru] is below 50%, and adjusted boss difficulty in lower-difficulty runs
    (3)AdjustedAI behavior: The skills cast during the final phase would now be more periodic
  • Adjusted the special effect of enhanced monsters with [lightning] attribute:
    Optimized the special effect. The skill frequency of enhanced monsters with [lightning] attribute is reduced, and the time it takes for the enhanced monsters with [lightning] attribute to cast their skill for the first time is now longer
