Friday Progress Report 414

Critters can now spawn on trees, for now only a few geckos (Including the new Tokay Gecko) and beetles are being added to the trees, we will add more later.



Beehives now spawn bees that wander and then return to the hive, making the precious hives even easier to spot.

We have figured what caused the problems with the previous optimization attempt, while it did reduce the number of objects being rendered it caused a huge number of critters to spawn by accidentally removing a population cap, this will be fixed on the next patch.

In addition to the optimizations my brother is doing I have began making LOD models for all critters, reducing the number of polygons being rendered at all times. These two changes will greatly increase performance on the next patch.

We expect to release it sometime mid next week.

Cutting trees now harvests all attachments on it
Improved the performance for critters, they no longer move when you are not looking at them, which vastly increases the performance
The error sound now play when you try to spend stamina but don't have enough

Friday Progress Report 413

We are testing the patch right now, if nothing goes wrong wild grapes will be up today.



We have fixed a few tree shader bugs that hopefully no one else noticed.
Also since beewax will be very useful later on we have added them to Bianca's and Catarina's shops.

There was a lot of progress towards the fruit trees, we have decided to use the same tree attachment system we have for the mushrooms and vines to also make the fruits, this required me to make a new whole plant for each fruit tree that is just the fruit, these will be set to grow on the trees during specific intervals, most fruits are available during summer.



We are finally finishing up the tree update, took longer than expected (as usual), here a list of features we are working on:

-Lumberaxe charge attack
-Tree Saplings
-Fruit Tree flowering on LOD models (basically last thing we need to release them)
-Critters spawning on trees
-Replacing the placeholder birch trees inside the town with Wisdom Fruit Trees
