V0.40.2.0 on Nightly

Features:
Select, Copy and Paste building Prefabs, Save to disc or Workshop
- While using the hammer, click the new Wrench+Cube button to switch to the Prefab mode
- Press the New Prefab button (Ctrl+C) to activate Selection Mode
- - Right click to select and left click to deselect.
- - Blue pieces are selected and the purple piece is the anchor piece
- Press Use Selected (Ctrl+V) to use the selection as a building piece
- Press New Prefab (Ctrl+S) to save the selection as a new Prefab
- Upload to Workshop or use as is
- Edit an existing Prefab by creating a new selection and clicking over an existing Prefab

Undo Redo when building (Ctrl+Z/Ctrl+Y)
Animated Windows and Doors, aim at a door frame with a door furniture or a window frame with a window to place it.
- Open/Close by interacting with it like any other interactable item (F)
More potted plant pieces and buildable normal size tile.
16 new pieces: triangular stone walls, large tower clay roof and support, medium tower balcony and spiral stairs for large tower

Changes:
Builing tools aiming distance increased to 10 + Camera Distance from 10
Added ambient occlusion
Implemented LOD for city furniture
Improved performance and precision of mousing over interactables

Bugfixes:
Trellis no longer stops you from being able to select the crop or tile below it

Friday Progress Report 259

We finally got the doors and windows working, I still have to add the placement slots in all buildables, right now the basic wooden doors and simple stone windows have the placement slots.

Raised beds work now, the buildable medium tile is still being worked on, buildable raised beds work like vases, so the crop trait Pot Trained works on them, it will also have an effect on the medium buildable tile.



We also added tables and chairs, but they are not interactable yet, the lighting is also not implemented yet, we will get them all working soon.

The new alpha build will be up this week with the crop plots and door/windows, sorry for the delay.

Friday Progress Report 258

Right now we are being swarmed by bugs due to the new implementations, but as soon as we squash them we will be releasing a new nightly build with the following features:

-Copy/paste feature
-QoL features like Undo and Redo (ctrl+Z/ctrl+Y) and quick piece switch based on the piece you are looking at
-Furniture snap points (doors and windows)
-New furniture pieces, buildable lighting
-Buildable crop tiles
-Upload buildings to workshop



Still on the works:

-Expanding the building UI
-Interactable furniture
-Placeholder forage/gathering/mining for resource gathering in exchange for stamina and time so players can acquire materials without using the shop

The nightly build should be dropping in a few days, depend on how long these bugs will last, the other major features will probably take until the end of the month.

Friday Progress Report 257

We have now a total of over 160 building pieces not counting furniture, the new pieces will be up on the next update, it will come on the nightly build in the next few days together with the copy and paste feature, which is a prelude to workshop upload of buildings.



We have a lot of new bugs due to the new features being implemented, so it might take a few days for the next build.

Building update roadmap:

-Copy/paste feature
-Upload buildings to workshop
-QoL features like Undo and Redo (ctrl+Z/ctrl+Y) and quick piece switch based on the piece you are looking at
-Furniture snap points and interactable furniture (doors and windows)

V0.40.1.0 on Nightly

Features:
Added 21 new stone pieces
Press T to lock the grid and enable bird eye view for easier building placement
Added LOD Bias to the graphics configuration window. Lower values means the low fidelity mesh appears earlier. This also affects trees

Changes:
First round of LOD for 3 the city buildings as a test

Known Issues:
The bird eye view can get stuck on walls very rarely, press T twice to toggle it on and off again to reset it.
