Friday Progress Report 179

In preparation for the end of year demo we are still trying to make the game as stable as possible, we found problems with occlusion (the game is trying to draw stuff that is behind walls) and this is causing our furniture to lag out the game a lot, so we are working to fix it.

For the trailer I prepared more facial expressions and I am now making the extra animations we need, but nothing is finished, so there isn’t anything to show right now.

This week is a short report, sorry.

Friday Progress Report 178

We spent most of the week finding and smashing bugs in the farming and the cooking system, since we had to abort the transfer to the new UI some things broke, we reverted them and solved the issues we found.



There was also some progress on the shop, buying items will be in the demo, but selling probably won’t, instead the girls will request specific dishes that you have to cook and they pay you based on the food score.

There was almost no progress on the trailer this week, I was helping my brother with the bug fix, testing and icons for the shop.

I also made those pages as feature guides, my brother requested those to showcase the features.

Its rough, but this is more or less what I want for the first seconds of the trailer, I will add more detail like the hoe hitting the ground before it cuts to the last scene, and Adam will turn around when he hear Meru trip, also lacks sounds.

I want this to be the hook, I hope its enough to get attention before I go showing the cooking and farm systems.

On the implementation side, my brother is now making a rough shopping window for trading with the NPCs, which has its own inventory.

Friday Progress Report 176

Right now I am learning how to use Unity’s Cinemachine so I can make a proper trailer, I made more expressions for Fuko, Meru and Adam, but haven’t applied them yet.

I have also planned the script for the trailer, I have been studying some material to make a trailer that isn’t an embarrassing mess like the current one, I think the hardest part will be to condensate the cooking system features in less than 30 seconds.

My brother is working on NPC interaction, allowing the player to talk to the girls and have the game figure out which girl can say which things.

Nothing else happened this week, sorry for the short report.

Friday Progress Report 175

Preparing new animations and new expressions for the trailer, those will be part of the NPC natural animations later on, but right now the systems required to give our girls life are not done yet.



The unlucky girl meeting the ground face to face will be Meru, during the start of the trailer i want to have the twins playing in the background and doing cute things, working on the facial expression now.

Also need to do the face she does while running after Fuko, and crying after hitting the ground.

We had to stop developing the new UI for now as we are having technical difficulties (it is not a stable feature yet after all), so the end year demo will still use the old UI. My brother is doing some rudimentary work to get interacting with the girls done, even if it is not pretty for now, but we want it working for the demo.
