G String - Major Game Patch - Now Live!
Hi again,
Today, we're setting the previously announced open beta to be live on the default Steam branch. We thank all those who participated for their helpful feedback and insight. Please continue to report any issues you may experience, and we'll do what we're able to address them.
Changelog:

ADDITIONS:
• Added new WebM video support library.
• Added texture streaming to try reduce VRAM usage (can be disabled using -no_texture_stream).
• Added DXSupport config, setting DX levels manually is no longer required.
• Added back the "quti" console command.
• Added new sub menu to options G String Options. You can open the Sentry Settings from here.
• Added Sentry crash logging.
> NOTE: You can go into the settings menu to disable it or run the game with the parameter -sentry_disable.
• Added Sentry permission dialog that opens on first time boot.
• Added HIM
CHANGES:
• Reduced total game size by around 2 GB (via LZMA BSP/map compression).
• Bound pyrokinesis to gamepad "Select" button.
• Updated end credits
• Increased an internal memory usage limit, which may help with crashes experienced prior.
> NOTE: Memory issues are still present. We cannot fix it because G String is 32 bit!
> This will be fixed in the Ultimate Edition update with a 64 bit port.
• Updated murdock_air8 to resolve missing assets.
• Updated dragon_girl to resolve missing assets.
• Updated money_is_dead4_2 to resolve missing assets.
• Updated perp_org3 to resolve missing assets.
> NOTE: This change will break saves in the chapter Perpetual Orgasm!
• Updated out of memory error message.
FIXES:
• Finally fixed the "White Bug", in which props and textures would turn blindingly white.
• Fixed many crashes related to video playback.
• Fixed broken audio issues.
• Fixed issues where the game would not launch on Linux.
• Fixed file mounting issues preventing certain assets from loading at random.
• Fixed issue with VGUI not rendering properly.
• Fixed VGUI depth so the main menu now properly appears behind VGUI menus.
• Fixed controller config not executing when enabling it in the options menu.
• Fixed controller weapon selection.
• Fixed a few models and textures.
• Fixed a crash with the error material being destroyed too early on shutdown.
• Fixed a crash where AI squads tried to gather their teammates when they do not exist.
• Fixed rare crash where the player tries to check if they are in a ship but it doesn't exist.
• Intro video and game should now run on Linux via proton.
• Restored config files for gamepad support.
• Removed faulty Cinema library (it was in-fact, not cinema).

That's a lot to read through we're aware, so the highlights here are:
• Vastly improved game performance and stability
• Controller support on everything but the menu
• Functionality on Linux via Proton
• Fixed the white prop bug

Thank you for your continued support, and enjoy the update.
