Hello, this is the Shadow Arena Development Team.


With the new season, we would like to introduce a few updates scheduled to come.

For Beta Season 7, we plan to focus on improving and reestablishing areas of the game that have been in development, as well as tracking and fixing bugs. Through enhancing the Tutorial and UI by thoroughly examining existing content, we will do our best to improve the game quality in providing enjoyable gameplay for our players.


📝 Track and Fix Bugs

Due to the development of new content each week and fixing major bugs, the fixes to preexisting minor and major bugs were delayed. In this season, we will improve the overall quality of the game by spending more time addressing these bugs.


📝 Improve UI Details

We understand that not being able to move inventory items by dragging or not being able to close the UI for setting profile effects with the ESC menu have been inconvenient for players. We will carefully examine each UI and quickly implement fixes and improve these elements along with the bug fixes mentioned above this season.


📝 Add Streaming / Replay Feature

As noted in our update notice and developer notes, the streaming and replay feature is currently in development. In streaming mode, you'll be able to watch a game in progress, and in replay mode, you'll be able to watch your previous games. Both features are nearly complete, which we are very pleased with.

The tournament system and spectator mode will be built around the streaming function, and we expect that this feature will make community tournaments more enjoyable for players.

The replay feature allows you to watch previous gaming, which can be utilized to analyze your gameplay patterns, and situations in greater depth, and even record epic moments.

The features will be available to Partner Influencers first and we will work towards making it available to more players in the future.


📝 Hero Reboot

The ultimate goal is to make each Hero enjoyable to play.
We plan to proceed with the hero reboot which will enhance control of heroes, improve the flow and detail of motion, increase the hit impact, and boost the ability of each skill to combo with other skills, as well as its synergy with related skills. In this process, we plan to adjust the balance of Mastery Skills and if considered to be necessary, nerfing of skills may be considered, but we aim to make improvements for the most part.

With this said, we want to inform you in advance of the placement of unwieldy skills or any drastic changes that may be applied in consideration of the Hero’s mechanism. We hope to improve each Hero as much as possible to enhance the gameplay for players. We are proceeding with the Heroes that require the most attention in these aspects. At this time, we are planning to start with Durgeff Durkhan and Herawen first.


📝 Add AI Hero Bots

All AI Bots for each Hero will be added at a later date.

We're actively working on adding AI bots for each of the 21 Heroes available in Shadow Arena, as well as continuing to improve the artificial intelligence of bots.

AI bots will be improved to help new players adjust to the game, and they will be reduced as the number of players grow and eventually remove all AI bots at a suitable time.


📝 New Hero Release

We’ve restarted the development of new Heroes and are now looking for the best timing to release an update. Because it's been a while since the last Hero was added, all aspects related to the development of the new Heroes will be thoroughly evaluated before the update is announced.


Although there are many more elements such as improvements to the Arena, Death Match, and fixes to the 3D character selection screen that are scheduled to come, we will inform you of any content that we did not cover in this developer note according to the development direction and schedule.

With the start of Beta Season 7, we have prepared various events, as well as the Challenge Cup registration that will start next week. We hope you look forward to the events.

[h2]2021 Shadow Arena Challenge Cup (Asia) Details[/h2] * Preliminary rounds may be held depending on the situation of the applicants. In that case, we will notify you via this notice.

* A link to the participant Discord channel will be sent separately to the Discord account that was submitted in the application for players who were selected as participants. Make sure to join Discord so you don't miss out on any details about the tournament, which will be announced via the channel.

※ Participant Selection Criteria
1) Log in to Asia server and press [ESC] > click [Events] to view the banner for tournament registration.
* How to Check Ranking: At the top of the Lobby screen [Record] > [Rank] > [Solo] > [Server Ranking]

* Participant’s Solo ranking will be based on their ranking before maintenance on November 11, 2021 (Tuesday).
2) Please note that unless you register separately, even if your ranking is high, you will not be automatically registered.

3) Please make sure to join the Discord channel first before applying as

players will not be selected as participants even if they obtain a higher rank if they are not in the official Discord channel.

- However, if the score in the final round is tied, the final ranking will be determined according to the survival ranking recorded in that round.

[Tournament]

* If it is determined that the same user participated in the tournament with more than one account, the user will be disqualified, tournament results will be nullified, and prizes will be withdrawn.

[Dev Note]
We have added a Special Function system where players can access special titles, profile effects, and streaming. As mentioned previously, priority access of the feature was given to players who achieved a 50 or higher ranking in Beta Season 6.

We plan to continue expanding its access by rewarding it as Tier Achievement and Event Rewards and to tournament winners and Partner Streamers.

- Fixed the issue where Patience Stance buff was maintained when guard ability was broken while in Patience Stance or inflicted by an attack with Guard Break effect.

- Changed controls so the motion of gathering lightning can be canceled when you press Q again after using skill.








| Crow: Shoo! B (E)

- Changed controls so you can immediately make the final blow when you press E again after using skill.

[Dev Note]

Although Ahon Kirus' Resonating Shadow and Herawen's Thunder Viper A have similar skill mechanics, their skill controls are vastly different. Venslar's Blades of Retribution A and Radiant Pursuit B skills, for example, were similar in that they used the same mechanism to allow for continuous blows, but their skill controls were different, making them difficult to grasp. As a result, the "hold" control was applied to the consecutive attack mechanism, which is used in most skills with consecutive attack mechanisms, and pressing the button again now performs the last hit immediately, similar to Herawen's Thunder Viper A, which has repeated attack motion with the last attack mechanic.

- Fixed the issue where boss armor was dropped when the Shadow Lord was defeated in Tutorial Level 4.



| Sparring Grounds

- Added the following Monsters and Objects of Trio in Sparring Grounds.

- Monsters that appear in Sparring Grounds reappear 15 sec after they are defeated.

- AP and HP of Monsters have been adjusted to match the balance of Solo Mode.

- Monsters and Objects except Shadow Lords appear in the same area as the appearance location in Solo Mode.

- Monsters of Sparring Grounds do not attack players unless players strike them first.
[Dev Note]
We have added objects and monsters in Sparring Grounds, which will allow players to experience and practice the contents from Solo/Trio mode prior hand. We hope that this content addition can be utilized to examine how to defeat Shadow Lords faster and more efficiently than others, understand the attack patterns of Stoneback Crab, and experiment with the effects of various items. Currently, only the basic features of the system have been added as we plan to add an interface that informs and guides players on Monsters. Furthermore, we plan to develop Sparring Grounds to be a place of community.
| AI Bots

- Improved the AI system of AI Bots.

- Added the feature for AI players to select Mastery Skills.

- Changes have been made to the overall actions of AI bots and real Hero players so they are identical.

[Dev Note]
The overall logic of AI Bots has been evaluated and improved.

Although AI bots may not provide the same level of excitement or challenge as real players, and some may regard them as nothing more than monsters to hunt, we are constantly working to make AI bots challenging enough to keep players on their toes and to give new players the satisfaction of securing a kill after a hard-fought battle to help them adjust to the game. The advancement of AI bots is a component that can make the game more enjoyable for both new and experienced players, so we plan to introduce new AI bots as the game develops.

- Fixed the issue where buttons for each mode were not displayed on the [Score Board] > [Profile] screen.

- Removed the maximum AP/DP values, sealed chests, and obtained loot UI from the Recent History Menu in the Main Lobby.

- Improved the UI to make it easier to see battle pass progress.





- A scroll has been added to the reward window that appears when clicking on the Battle Pass.
