Whether you're a returning veteran or entering the park management control room for the first time, there's something here for everyone! Learn what it takes to become a park management master and immerse yourself in an original Jurassic World narrative in the Campaign Mode – set after the earth shattering events at Lockwood Manor in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom – and work alongside iconic film characters like Dr. Ian Malcolm (voiced by Jeff Goldblum) and Claire Dearing (voiced by Bryce Dallas Howard) to help lead the efforts of the Department of Fish and Wildlife (DFW) – under the supervision of Director Cabot Finch, who returns from the first game – to conserve, contain and control wild dinosaurs across the USA.

You can also revisit pivotal moments from the Jurassic World and Jurassic Park films, with a twist! Chaos Theory mode lets you explore how things could have turned out differently in a series of what if-scenarios. Helping John Hammond establish the original Jurassic Park (without sabotage from Denis Nedry), or bringing Jurassic Park: San Diego's amphitheater to life with a pair of roaring T. rex are just the tip of the iceberg. This journey through the films we know and love is not to be missed by fans of the Jurassic World universe!

If you want to put your management skills to the test, Challenge Mode is for you, where you work to achieve the best park rating in the shortest amount of time. Finally, you can unleash your creativity in Sandbox Mode and create the ultimate Jurassic Park or Jurassic World using themed buildings and decorations.

The amazing Jurassic World Evolution 2 development team has put their heart and soul into the game to make this the ultimate Jurassic World gaming experience. Watch your dinosaurs explore and interact with their environment and each other in different and dynamic ways, but make sure they have all they need to keep them satisfied, or you may have to deal with the odd escape or two! This time around you also need to care for several new marine and flying reptiles, each with their own set of unique challenges and behaviours.

For the big dinosaur fans in the community, the Deluxe Edition, a digital exclusive, gives you Jurassic World Evolution 2 in addition to some beautiful extra content that you can add to your game. You'll get 5 additional dinosaurs and prehistoric reptiles, 3 Dinosaur Protection Group Vehicle Skins, and 6 Amenities guest building signs. If you've picked up the Standard Edition, you can always upgrade to the Deluxe Edition if you want!

Jurassic World Evolution 2 review - dino crises

Jurassic Park is probably the most perfect disaster movie ever made. But Jurassic World Evolution 2 sometimes makes me wish it didn't depend so much on things going wrong.

It's understandable that developer Frontier would feel obligated to make horrible things happen to my lovely dinosaur park in order to stay true to the movie, and I get that random calamities have been a thing in this genre since SimCity. But for me, the best management games have never been about putting out fires. They are bubbling cauldrons of overlapping systems, which organically produce interesting questions of strategy and priority.

There are many more moments like that in Jurassic World Evolution 2 than its predecessor. Smart changes to the core loop have produced a much better, richer management sim. But the one overriding negative is the near-constant, interrupting need to react to short-term emergencies, whether small (a power generator needs refuelling) or large (a catastrophic tornado is ripping up everything I've built). Its impact isn't universal: you can tune the busywork in sandbox mode or slightly mitigate it in-game, and storms are more frequent in some scenarios than others. Nonetheless you will have to deal with them at some point if you want to try everything that JWE2 has to offer.

We can't wait to celebrate with all of you!

With release day being so close, we thought it would be fun to have the community hear directly from the developers themselves how they're feeling about next week's launch. Here's what they had to say:

"I am absolutely thrilled! This is my first new game as a Game Director and it’s so amazing that it’s finally out. It's such a special feeling seeing all the hard work that the team has done to finally get the game into player's hands. As Game Director, I’m the vision holder for the game and am involved with all creative direction and decisions we make for the content and features in the game and what player’s experience and see. The moments that stand out the most to me have been working on our narrative cinematics that set the scene for our Campaign mode and all the Chaos Theory levels. Finding a way to recap events from the Jurassic movie franchise in a way that was visually beautiful, entertaining and concise for players was amazing and we've brought scenes from the movies to life in a highly dynamic way." - Rich Newbold, Game Director

"It's delightful to think that players will soon be experiencing all of the teams' hard work and passion that has gone into Jurassic World Evolution 2. During development I've gotten to see all the dinosaurs come to life bit by bit, and that's been really great! The new social interactions are so heart-warming and they really show off these magnificent animals in a new light. As for launch, I'm most excited to see everyone's reactions to the game. I'll be looking over all the different social and streaming platforms, looking for screenshots, videos and playthroughs to see what people think." - Adam Woods, Executive Producer
"I’m always excited when a game is about to release! After years of hard work from lots of different people we’re putting something out for people to play and enjoy. Releasing a game is always an exciting time, but we’re all really proud of what we’ve built and we can’t wait to see what people say. As lead designer I’ve been helping to develop the gameplay experience of Jurassic World Evolution 2 with help from the design team and the other teams around us. The team has been absolutely brilliant throughout the entire process! It's also been a lot of fun working with the film talent and seeing them bring their movie-selves to life for our game. I can't wait for people to get their hands on Chaos Theory, and how each level links into the films will really excite people, like it has me!" - Jim Stimpson, Lead Designer

"I am very excited for the release of Jurassic World Evolution 2! It's been so long coming that I cannot wait for it to be out. My main focus has been animating dinosaurs and marine reptiles, and I got to work on the Mosasaurus, to name one. It's been really fun to expand their range of movements and behaviours, and creating social interactions has been a delight for me because I get to animate dinosaurs being cute! We've managed to pack so much character and personality into them, so each dinosaur feels more alive than ever before. I can't wait to see how people react to our dinosaurs when they finally get to play." - Amy Hook, Lead Animator

"There's an incredible energy that builds up when a game you're working on is close to launch, and I've been feeling it for the past few weeks. As a fan of the films and the original game I'm incredibly excited for Jurassic World Evolution 2 to come out. I can't wait to play around with those gorgeous dinosaurs and reptiles. As community manager I've been reading all your posts and comments on the forums, Reddit, and social media, and it's been a delight seeing everyone's responses to our trailers, screenshots, and reveals. The most fun for me has been seeing everyone look over screenshots and trailers with a fine toothed comb, trying to pick out details and new dinosaurs, not to mention all the fan theories around everything! I can't wait for everyone to get to play and experience everything the game has to offer." - Jens Erik Vaaler, Senior Community Manager

"I'm super excited! The build up to launch has been such an exciting time and I’ve loved seeing the content from the community and hearing about what players are most looking forward to. I've had the pleasure of working on the game as producer, so I've looked after a few different areas of the game over its development, but a big focus for me has been park teams and guests. I’m really excited about the new MVU Team. A huge highlight was being a part of the VO recording sessions. Seeing the incredible Jeff Goldblum, Bryce Dallas Howard and BD Wong at work was really special, as was hearing Cabot Finch’s jokes come to life for the first time! I’m really looking forward to seeing players enjoy the varied biomes and the new environment tools. I love creating beautiful scenery in game and can’t wait to see players get creative with their enclosures in all the different locations. - Lucy Hicks, Producer

"There is so much anticipation of wanting to let the community finally play Jurassic World Evolution 2, a game we couldn’t be more proud of. As Product Manager, I get to see a bit of everything from development teams and commercial teams, and aligning it all for marketing. I also see through all of the community responses with posts and comments across our social channels, it couldn’t be more exciting. Being a huge Jurassic fan (like a lot of the team) it has been such a great journey for this! I have a lot of fun seeing the community look through everything we created for this campaign and now I can’t wait to see everyone start playing the game and what they create." - Alex Thompson, Product Manager

"I’m definitely looking forward to the launch! We’ve added a lot of great stuff to the game and I’m looking forward to seeing how people respond to getting all these new toys to play with. My main focus as Senior Designer has been dinosaur behaviour and management, so I've been the person working on the new territory system, as well as improvements to hunting - specifically things like pack hunting, the way carnivores pick their targets, and dynamic prey/predator chases. I've also been working on the Park Teams side of things. The most enjoyable for me has been the territory and paleobotany system. They're complex features on a technical level, but I got to work with some highly skilled gameplay coders to make it a reality. Together, the territory and paleobotany systems give players more flexibility and creativity when making enclosures, so I'm looking forward to seeing screenshots of the park and enclosure designs players come up with." - James Moulang, Senior Designer

"It's really exciting to be this close to launch! It's the culmination of a lot of work over a long period of time, so I'm looking forward to everyone getting to play. Working as lead character artist my role has been to help my team build the dinosaur models, so there's been a lot of reference models and dinosaur skeletons in my life. It's been a fun and quite interesting process creating new dinosaurs from paleontological evidence and making them accurate to the Jurassic World universe. Since dinosaur models have been my main focus, I'm of course looking forward to seeing what players think of the new dinosaur designs! I think they all look amazing and hope the players do too." - Lee Dalton, Lead Artist

"Coming up to the release of a game is always extremely exciting. We get to see people enjoy our game after years of development. The look and feel of the dinosaurs and reptiles have been my main focus during development, everything from the creation of the art assets and models, all the way up to their behaviours and beyond. Seeing the dinosaurs go from concept to chewing on another creature’s face is highly satisfying! As a result of having once been a community manager in a previous job, I put a lot of value on player feedback, so I'll be spending a lot of time watching various spaces to see everyone's thoughts and comments. It'll be fun to see how everyone enjoys the game!" - Orcun Adsoy, Producer

Jurassic World Evolution 2 will launch on 9 November. Make sure you pre-order if you'd like to get your hands on a set of vehicle skins inspired by The Lost World: Jurassic Park as an exclusive pre-order bonus!

Dev Diary - Creating Your Own Jurassic World

Hello Park Managers!

A Jurassic World Evolution 2 Developer Diary is now available on our YouTube channel! We're joined by Game Director Rich Newbold, Lead Animator Amy Hook, Lead Designer Jim Stimpson, and Executive Producer Adam Woods, who'll be discussing the game's building and landscaping tools, and how you can use them to create your own Jurassic World.

Check out the full video below:

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

If you're unable to watch the Dev Diary, or just want the highlights, we've written a quick summary of everything discussed in the video. There are also timestamps that will take you straight to that topic if you want to jump ahead.

The full release of Jurassic World Evolution 2 is a mere 2 weeks away! We are so excited for the coming launch and we hope you're looking forward to experiencing everything the game has to offer.

Introductions
  • How you build, manage, and customise your Jurassic World can make all the difference between a dinosaur paradise and complete chaos. Creating and managing a dinosaur park in Jurassic World Evolution 2 is more expansive than ever, and you'll be building in some of the largest locations seen in the series yet.
Environments and maps
  • Players can build their own Jurassic World in a number of different environments. Every location is a unique canvas where you can customise the environment to your liking. These locations also have bespoke nuances, challenges, and weather calamities. Buildings can be upgraded with storm defences to provide protection against some of the weather's devastating effects.
Jurassic Park or Jurassic World - The Choice is Yours
  • When you jump into Sandbox Mode, you'll have the option to use either Jurassic Park or Jurassic World era building sets. PC and new-generation console players will also be able to mix eras and combine the two building sets. The team's done an amazing job in giving each building set a unique and authentic feel - and you'll have both new and familiar buildings to use when constructing your parks.
New Buildings and Park Teams
  • New buildings include facilities that house key members of staff, and buildings that help maintain your dinosaurs' welfare. The Control Center works as your headquarters, and the Staff Center lets you maintain your Scientists' welfare. Mobile Veterinary Units (MVUs) coming out of the Paleo Medical Facility will help take care of sick or injured dinosaurs, and Capture and Ranger Teams sent out from your Response Facility will help you maintain the security of your parks, and your dinosaurs' wellbeing.
A Few Tips
  • Always make sure your parks are fully powered by Power Stations, but keep in mind that they are susceptible to weather damage and sabotage. A well-placed Backup Generator can be a life saver in these situations. Don't forget to use your Amenities to capitalise on your guest demographics. Viewing Galleries and Tours should provide a good view of your dinosaurs, so guests can get up-close and personal.
Guided Tours
  • The Jurassic Tour and Gyrosphere return in Jurassic World Evolution 2, and can go through land enclosures and Aviaries, letting you connect your entire park using a single Tour. They can also cross paths, automatically creating an intersection when crossing.
Genetic Modification
  • Your dinosaurs and reptiles can be released from unique Hatcheries directly into their enclosure, or be airlifted into a separate enclosure in another location. You can alter them at the genome level to diversify and improve their traits, or change their skin tones and pattern colours to further make them more unique.
Aviaries and Flying Reptiles
  • Aviaries can be tailored to suit your flying reptiles' needs in the same way as land dinosaur enclosures. Unhappy flying reptiles can break out and terrorise your guests!
Each Park is Unique
  • Every park can look different from the next. Everything from choice of dinosaurs and eras, to the layout of the parks, and the look of the Amenities Buildings, will make your park look unique and personal.

We hope this Dev Diary has given you a deeper look at the features and mechanics in Jurassic World Evolution 2. Let us know your thoughts in the comments! Don't forget, there's still time to pre-order the game before launch to get access to a set of vehicle skins inspired by The Lost World: Jurassic Park. You can also pick up the Deluxe Edition to get access to more Amenities Building signs, vehicle skins, and 5 additional dinosaurs and reptiles. Don't forget to follow us on TwitterFacebookInstagram and YouTube as we move ever close to launch.

Park Management Guide - Enclosures

Welcome back Park Managers to a new entry in our Park Management Guide!
In this series of articles and videos, we're taking a deeper look into the mechanics and features you will be using while managing your parks in Jurassic World Evolution 2. Previously, we talked about the different Park Teams and how they help out with park and dinosaur upkeep and management.

Today we're taking a look at the three different kinds of dinosaur and reptile enclosures you'll be building to house and hopefully contain your prehistoric animals.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Land Dinosaur Enclosures
Your land dinosaurs are kept inside fenced enclosures. Most of them are sociable and get along well with other species, but some will need to be kept to themselves, both for their own safety and the safety of others. Triceratops and Stegosaurus should be kept apart, for instance. There are many types of fences and walls in Jurassic World Evolution 2, from your basic steel fences to concrete and electrified fences. Their appearance will vary depending on the era or theming you choose for your parks, and difference fences are needed for different dinosaurs.

Keeping your dinosaurs happy and comfortable is your primary objective, so you'll need to customise their enclosures using plants, food and water sources, and ground types. Unhappy dinosaurs will grow restless and try to break out. Large theropods like T. rex and Qianzhousaurus will usually try to headbutt fences or gates in order to break them, whereas Stegosaurus and other thyreophorans will likely use their tails. Smaller theropods like Dilophosaurus and Velociraptor will usually try to climb non-electrified fences in order to escape.

Fences, gates, and dinosaurs have a specific security rating. If a dinosaur's security rating is higher than a fence's, it will be able to destroy the fence and then run rampant throughout your park. If a fence's security rating is higher, your dinosaurs will still try to break out, but won't be able to destroy the fence or gate, injuring themselves in the process. You'll then need to dispatch your MVUs to provide medical attention. A fence will never outright kill a dinosaur, but can cause them harm. Gates can also be attacked and broken, and broken gates won't close properly, making escape easy for any prehistoric land animal looking to get out.

Electrified fences will act as an extra deterrent against attacks, but they also need additional power in order to deliver an electric shock. If they don't have power they will still act as a regular fence, but with a lower security rating than a fully powered fence. Velociraptor and Dilophosaurus won't climb electrified fences, but will instead attack the fences directly using their heads or bodies. If the fence loses power, they may try to climb it.

Aviaries
Flying reptiles will be housed in Aviaries. These domed structures are modular and can be linked together, letting you build unique and dynamic enclosures. Hatcheries and Viewing Galleries are attached to the walls at predetermined points. You will need at least one Hatchery per Aviary enclosure, so your Ranger Teams can perform their Ranger Scans and report back to you about your flying reptiles.

Multiple flying reptiles can live inside a single Aviary, but you'll need to make sure they have enough space for their territories. Like with land dinosaurs, they also have wants and needs that have to be met in order to make them comfortable. You can modify the Aviary interiors with ground types and plants and other greenery, and you'll need a Fish Feeder or two in order to keep them fed. Unhappy flying reptiles might try to escape by smashing through the domed ceiling.

A new feature to Aviaries is that Guided Tours can now pass through them, provided that there are entry and exit gates attached to the sides. This will provide your guests with a more up close and personal view of your flying reptiles, and is sure to leave them awestruck.

Lagoons
Lagoons are new modular aquatic habitats that will house your marine reptiles. Like with Aviaries, Lagoons are modular, and can be expanded at preset points. Hatcheries and Viewing Galleries are attached to the Lagoon walls at predetermined points, and your Ranger Teams will link up with a Hatchery to perform Ranger Scans of marine reptiles. You will need at least one Hatchery per Lagoon in order to know your marine reptiles' wants and needs.

Your Lagoons can't be entered by Guided Tours, but Monorails can pass – or over – for increased dinosaur visibility. The Viewing Galleries can be lowered below the water, so your guests can see the marine reptiles up close in their natural element. Attach a Shark Feeder to any Lagoon housing a large marine reptile, like the Mosasaurus, to give your guests a spectacular sight around feeding time. Smaller marine reptiles are happy with fish, so don't forget to add a Fish Feeder so they have a source of food. Hungry marine reptiles won't be able to escape, but they will die of hunger if left without food for too long.

A single Lagoon can house several marine reptiles, but depending on the species it may be a good idea to keep some of them separated. Larger marine reptiles might just try and eat the smaller ones.

Now that you know more about the different enclosure types in Jurassic World Evolution 2 you're well equipped to manage a park that runs smoothly and hopefully without incident. These additional enclosures and animals will offer your parks new opportunities, and new challenges. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

Don't forget: you can pre-order Jurassic World Evolution 2 now by heading to our website, or from your storefront of choice, and get three exclusive Vehicle Skins inspired by The Lost World for use in Sandbox and Challenge Mode. You can also pick up the Deluxe Edition and get 5 additional dinosaurs and reptiles: Geosternbergia, Attenborosaurus, Pachyrhinosaurus, Huayangosaurus & Megalosaurus, 6 new signs for your Amenities Buildings, and 3 Dinosaur Protection Group Vehicle Skins for Sandbox and Challenge Mode. Remember to also follow us on TwitterFacebook and Instagram, and join the discussions about the game on our forums!
