The Magic of Music Update

New Content
New Premium Worker
Yohan the Bard has joined the city! He’s a bit shy, but he’ll do his best! He is available for hire for players of level 18 or higher.

Yohan brings with him two new blueprint lines; magical Instruments and the mighty Aurasongs. On top of that, his Worker Power allows the upgrade of two furniture at the same time!
Instruments
Chimes and Drums have hit the shops! This new premium blueprint line features a wide variety of instruments such as trumpets, guitars and even the mighty triangle. Because of this, the resource types required for them can vary wildly from one item to another.

Instruments also have a special shop effect! Whenever purchased by a customer, that person will play a few notes before departing. Nearby characters (except Rudo) will love it and grant you a tiny bit of free energy!

Instruments are a type of magical weapon and can be equipped by most Spellcasters. A few other classes, such as Dancers (due to their connection with music) and Berserkers (because it’s funny) can also equip them.
Aurasongs
Aurasongs are special gemstones enchanted with music. Similar to Familiars, they can only be equipped by Champions (in a dedicated equipment slot) and provide them with a unique Aura. The Aurasong grants stat bonuses to Champions, but the Aura also grants a bonus to the whole party. Each Aura has their own effect!

Like Familiars, although no Hero class can equip them, some daring customers will occasionally ask to buy them.
Champion Titan Soul
Officially revealed as part of the Black Friday offer, the Champion Titan Soul is now available as a fusion recipe. It’s a tough one, though!

The Champion Titan Soul itself is a special variant of the Titan Soul. It can be used on any Champion to grant them a major stat boost! Upon upgrade, the Champion receives bonus stats equal to two rank-ups. In addition, all stats received from rank-ups (past and future) receive a 50% boost!

Creating a Champion Titan Soul requires a very difficult fusion! It lands squarely in the “endgame grind” for advanced players. The recipe is the following:
 • 2x Titan Souls
 • 1x Legendary Item (T10+)
 • 5x Mythic XP Drinks
 • 10x Phoenix Feathers
 • 300x Perfect Moonstones

You'll also need a level 37 Sun Dragon before attempting the fusion. Good luck!*

No actual luck is involved, the fusion does not have a chance to fail.

Minor Changes
 • The city has expanded! Things were getting a bit tight in there, so the layout has been updated to make more space for the Bard and future newcomers. There’s a beach now!
 • When buying an item in the Antique Store or Fortune Store, its slot will instantly be restocked instead of going on a cooldown.

Balance Changes
 • Reduced the maximum tier of items requested by Champions to 10.

King Schedule

King Reinhold will be available as a Guest Champion on December 11th until the 14th.

Bug Fixes
 • Fixed the Quality Event actually preventing qualities altogether (a recent issue that was quickly followed with us disabling the event). It now stacks normally with other quality upgrades, with +100% being the equivalent of a 2x Quality chance blueprint upgrade.
 • Fixed a bug where Ashley’s leader skill would sometimes result in extreme stat penalties in the Tower of Titans.
 • As part of the same bug, also fixed Ashley’s leader skill doubling ATK, DEF and Quest Time bonuses from other sources (Such as Boosters).
 • Fixed a rare crash when cycling through Hero equipment.
 • Fixed jittery scrolling when looking at the guild friendship menu.
 • Clarified the effect of the Flawless Process talent.
 • Fixed a few Talents not properly becoming available after unlocking Stones Left Unturned.
 • Applied a permanent fix for the occasional mismatched market value of some items.
 • Fixed a bug where the Defenders of the Kingdom talent would grant unimaginable amounts of Airship Power.

Version 14.4.0 Release Notes

Minor Changes
“All” Affinity
This unusual affinity type receives minor Affinity bonuses from any element (half the usual bonuses of regular affinity and +5 Element from any element). It is typically exclusive to blueprints that change color depending on the element placed upon them.

Currently, it is only found on the Iced FlavorPop, but a few blueprints in the future may share this trait.
Other Minor Changes
• Much like Dragon Invasion, Lost City of Gold and the King’s Caprice rewards can now be rushed using Gems once the event is over.
 • When declining to use a locked or higher quality item in a Champion Request, the option to craft or buy the item from the Market will now appear.
 • The progress animation in the Collection Book will no longer be skipped.

Balance Changes
 • The Fateweaver (Titan Chronomancer) now grants the party a power boost equal to a basic Power Booster upon activating its Retry ability.
 • Champion requests now scale with the player’s tier progress, rather than the amount of times a player has served a particular Champion.
 • A single quest battle is now limited to 500 rounds, after which you will fail the quest. This is to prevent potential softlocks and issues with the quest preview system. (This change was included in the previous update though we failed to mention it).

King Schedule

King Reinhdold will be available as a guest champion November 13th until the 15th.

Bug Fixes
 • Fixed a bug causing some Heroes to still be considered “on the airship” after Dragon Invasion ended.
 • Fixed a few instances where the “Back” keybind would not properly exit out of some celebration screens.
 • Fixed an issue where players could earn the True Titan title without fully completing the Tower of Terror. Titles earned this way have been removed.
 • Fixed a few cases where users could be stuck in the Fusion tutorial.
 • Fixed keybinds not working on the "Resource Received" celebration screen.
 • The Void Creature monster has been demoted from Tower of Titans duties. He’s just too big :(
 • Fixed a minor display issue with the color of the "Unlock with Key" text in the Chest Opening screen.
 • Fixed a rare issue where the Chest Opening screen UI would persist in the Shop or City.
 • Fixed an issue where the Merchant Level Up celebration screen would display a Hero Slot already acquired through a Content Pass as newly unlocked.
 • Fixed a scrolling issue when assigning Heroes to an Airship Crew in Dragon Invasion.
 • Fixed some menus not taking into account the Defenders of the Kingdom talent.
 • Fixed an instance where locked items would not appear in the Collection Book for donation.
 • Fixed a crash that could occur for some Flash Quests causing the quest to be unclaimable.

Heroes, Terror and so Much More Update

New Content
New Hero Classes
At long last, a new set of Heroes has arrived! This 7th tier focuses on introducing classes of Elements that were previously missing for each archetype. They are available to hire for gold starting at level 58.
Dark Knight (Dark)
Mysterious warriors who have made pacts with fell powers. If their attack leaves an enemy below 10% HP, the enemy is instantly defeated. Gruesome!

In addition, their hunger for souls grants them a small permanent bonus after each battle. When the Dark Knight finishes a quest, they gain a +1 seed bonus to one of their stats at random. They need to survive the fight, though!
Velite (Light)
Light troops of the Empire. Originally weak scouts not even worthy of weaponry, they’ve mastered a peculiar art of offensive shield combat as deadly as any blade. They’ve since been promoted to elite guards.

Velites wield no weapons, but receive an ATK bonus equal to their shield’s DEF.
Chronomancer (Air)
Powerful wizards who have gained powers over time after studying the Chronos Ruins for decades. If their party is ever defeated, they grant the player the option to immediately attempt a new combat with (hopefully!) better results. This ability does not stack with multiple Chronomancers.
Vampire Masquerade Content Pass
The world of vampires is one of lavish parties, endless nights and fancy dining! Join them in decadence with this new Halloween Content Pass, earn Blood Roses and unlock their Haute Couture and the weapons they fear most! Completing every single task will also earn you the exclusive Vampire title.

The Content Pass will start on October 3rd and will end on the 31st.
Event Trophies
Previously, we’ve released an update to event leaderboards, awarding temporary titles and badges to the mightiest shopkeepers of the month. Starting with this update, there’s also a bonus reward for these superplayers.

Each event (Lost City of Gold, Tower of Titans, King’s Caprice) now features 3 trophy decorations each matching their leaderboard ranking (Gold, Silver, Bronze). For example, If a guild finishes with the top King’s Caprice score in the world, all guild members will receive a permanent, golden Caprice trophy to show off in their shop.

Players can only own one copy of each trophy, but earning duplicates will actually instead level up that trophy! It will gain increased Prestige and at level 6, 11, and 16, will grow in glittery intensity.

What about my top ranking in previous events?
We’ve preemptively tracked the leaderboard placement of players after the release of the extended event rewards feature. If you were in a guild that scored in the top 10 for one (or more) events, you’ll receive the appropriate trophies upon updating the game. Trophies will not go higher than level 1 from this retroaction, however.

What about Tower of Titans?
Since it is a solo event, the Tower of Titans trophy works differently. Instead, players can receive a Gold Titan Trophy by beating the Tower of Terror (see below). Unlike the other events which are limited to the Top 10 guilds, there’s no limit to how many players can earn this trophy per event, and there are no Bronze or Silver trophies.
Tower of Terror
Up until recently, players were forced into a Tower difficulty based on their level. This required the event difficulty to be a bit softer. Now that players have the power to choose their own destiny, it also allows us to take the gloves off, so to speak.

We are terrified to announce the new Terror difficulty level for the Tower of Titans event. This difficulty is more “optional” than the others, in the sense that the reward track is only marginally better than the baseline Epsilon difficulty. The average player is not expected to be able to clear it. It has a few things going on for it, though.
 • An exclusive, gold Tower of Titans trophy. Subsequent clears will level up the trophy.
 • Purely Tier 13 equipment drops, both bundles and quality items. The odds for Epic and Legendary qualities are higher than normal.
 • Less diluted loot table (No moonstones/Runestones)
 • A special achievement for first completion, granting an exclusive Talent Point (more on that below)
 • A permanent title, True Titan, for first completion.
 • Big street cred and the trophy to prove it

In addition to stronger monsters, a few new challenges present themselves
 • All tower minibosses have an elemental barrier, with the elements being randomly assigned for each event.
 • All Minibosses have 2 modifiers.
 • Like Extreme difficulty dungeons, all monsters ignore 20% of your Heroes Critical Hit Rate and Evasion. It is also considered Extreme difficulty for the sake of the On The Edge Talent.
 • All monsters within Terror take only 5% of damage from attacks. They have much lower HP, though

We, the Shop Titans team, couldn't beat this tower with our own personal accounts (completely walled by Spider Steve on floor 24). We wish you luck all the same.
Super Achievements
A handful of new “super achievements” have been added. As their name implies, these are quite difficult! Unlike other achievements, they reward 1 Talent Point each, on top of and separate from the usual Talent Point progression.

The challenges are:
 • Become a Royal Merchant
 • Master 750 Blueprints
 • Reach level 99 with all three pets
 • Reach a Collection Score of 50,000
 • Complete the Tower of Terror

As these achievements rely on the Talent system, they are hidden from players until the feature is unlocked. Progress towards them is still tracked as normal, though.
Forge & Fortune Mini Collab
The elusive issue of Spells Vol III has long been thought missing, but recent reports indicate it may have been spotted within the Shop Titans universe!

This Tier 6 Spell blueprint is available for free, but the kicker is that its location is a secret! The only hint we’re giving out is that at the time of the update, it will not yet be obtainable.

Big thanks to our friends over at Forge & Fortune for this partnership!
New Talent
A new Talent has been added to the Questing talent tree, Stones Left Unturned. It disables Moonstone and Runestone drops from all quests (save for Flash Quests), replacing them with other drops such as equipment or perhaps even keys.
Lost City of Gold
The new Platinum Hallways (Wall) and Platinum Tiles (Flooring) have been added to the Platinum Chest.

In addition, the dungeon scene of the final difficulty of LCOG has been updated visually to better reflect its Platinum nature.

Major Changes
Dragon Invasion Extended
Dragon Invasion has three new reward tiers for players wishing to acquire more Dragonmarks! You’ll have to face the Gold Dragons to claim the new grand prize!

Minor Changes
 • The 4th tier of the Dragon’s Hoard bin has been visually updated to reflect its Essence storage.
 • LCOG components earned with the Artifact Takers talent now ignore component stack limits.
 • Specified that the Freyja’s Prayer talent works on both Heroes and Champions.
 • The "Enhanced VFX" option now affects the effect trail produced by elements like Gold and Energy.
 • Keybinds will now be properly swapped if shared between the same keybinding category.
 • Per community request, locked Food items will again appear in the Pet Feed menu. A warning will now surface when attempting to feed a locked item.

Balance Changes
 • Reduced the quality bonus of the Legendary Craftsman talent from 3x to 2x. We don’t usually nerf things, but this one has earned itself an official Too Crazy* rating. If you haven’t had your fun with it yet, the patch isn’t live for a few days!
 • The fusion recipes for Blossoms have been updated. They now require a Tier 6 Superior item (replacing a Tier 5 Epic item) and 20 seeds of its type (up from 10). Two blossoms are now created per fusion.
 • The “Large” and “Absolute Unit” boss modifiers for Tower of Titans have had their Group Attack chance multiplier reduced (as monsters could reach 100% chance of group attack).

*Written while buried under a mountain of Legendary items

Talents Revisited Update

This update is slated for release next week!

Major Changes
Talent Trees
There have been some major changes to the content of some Talent Trees, specifically Questing and Crafting. Since the structure of the trees have changed, all points assigned to all three talent trees will be automatically refunded upon updating the game. You will then be able to reassign them for free wherever you wish.
More details on the nature of the changes are available further down below.
Keybinding Remaps
PC players now have access to a new option in the settings menu, allowing them to rebind hotkeys to their preference. As a bonus, it acts as a nice way to learn what the hotkeys actually are! Two harpies, one runestone.

As a related change, it is now possible to confirm (or more accurately, back out of) the Quality Celebration Craft screen by using the “Back” key (ESC by default).
XP Potion Menu
There is now a shortcut to an XP potion usage menu, available from the Hero details screen. It provides quick access to all your XP potions as well as the ability to use a bunch of them at the same time.
Skill Rerolls
When rerolling Hero skills, if you don’t like the new skill, you’ll now have the option to keep the previous one at the cost of 20 gems.

Minor Changes
 • Updated layout of the player profile.
 • It is now possible to refund a Talent Tree for Gems even if you have Refund tokens available.
 • Added a tooltip to resource icons (on the shop screen) to view their current resource regeneration speed.
 • Added sorting options to furniture menus.
 • The celebration screen when claiming a Content Pass task will now display the amount of the Content Pass currency you received.
 • When leveling up a Pet, only stats that actually increase will now be displayed on the level up celebration (e.g. an energy increase of +0 will no longer be shown).
 • Improved the “Kick from Guild” menu to be more descriptive.
 • Your quality preset now affects the amount of particles rendered by visual effects (the higher the quality, the more particles).
 • Disabling the “Enhanced VFX” setting now impacts more visual effects.
 • Added navigation arrows to the Level Up celebration screen when viewing rewards/unlocks.
 • Players banned from leaderboards will no longer take up a rank slot on the leaderboards nor contribute to their guild’s score for the sake of networth and event leaderboards.
 • The “Brand Loyalty” talent will no longer activate for customers asking for an out of stock item.
 • The Bunny pet* will be temporarily available for purchase with gems during the month.
*Spoilers: we'll be doing a Bunny skin giveaway soon!

Balance Changes
Polonia
In a previous update, we’ve increased the “range” of items available for Polonia to steal, although in practice this resulted in her finding less valuable things than before.

We’ve modified this range so that it now includes slightly more valuable things, and slightly less valuable things, resulting in more variety (and preventing a hyperfixation on the Stormrend bow) while averaging out about the same as before.
Hemma
Instead of draining the entire party, Hemma now drains a single ally per turn. The benefits she receives from this drain have been tripled, matching her previous power up from draining the whole party.
Dragon Invasion
Since the previous Dragon Invasion event had to be canceled due to technical issues, this event (scheduled for Sept 21st) will feature doubled rewards!

King Schedule

Regal, royal Reinhold will rejoin your ranks as a Guest Champion on September 18th, leaving on the 21st.

 • Fixes to font rendering in various languages.

 • Fixed an old issue where “Optimize” would sometimes ignore some equipment slots for Monks.

 • Fixed some item cards becoming unresponsive after interacting with a Flash Quest.

 • Fixed another instance where the player could not suggest to the King after acquiring the “Royal Advisor” talent unless a Food item was on a Rack.
 • Fixed Evasion not being properly calculated for Extreme difficulty quests. Evasion over the 75% cap will now properly contribute to reducing the -20% penalty.
 • Fixed an issue where a quantity value would display on some acquired skin tones when customizing a hero.
 • Fixed a rare issue where hair could become distorted after customizing your avatar's appearance.
 • Fixed an issue where the player's profile picture would not update until performing a game restart.
 • Fixed an issue where an offer background could occasionally fail to properly display.
 • Fixed locked Food items appearing in the Pet Feed menu.

Talent Tree Update
Bartering Talent Tree

Warmart, Rogues ‘R Us and Spell, Robe & Beyond
These three nodes have a fairly unique interaction. Since they modify the odds of a customer class showing up, they can be useful if you like a particular Hero category (I want to run a Warrior shop, so I’ll invest in Warmart) or if you DON’T like a particular Hero category (No nerds allowed! I’ll invest in both Warmart and Rogues R’ Us!)

However, investing in all three of these skills essentially cancel out their effect, since all Hero categories are now equally as likely to show up (much as if you didn’t unlock those skills in the first place). To prevent user error, the third skill of this trio will be locked whenever you unlock the other two.
Enchantment Establishment
Now applies its Surcharge Value Bonus to the enchantments on the item, rather than the item as a whole. In exchange, the maximum bonus has been increased to +20%.
Crafting Talent Tree
The Crafting Talent Tree is in a decent place and quite popular, but often criticized for its primary focus on various resources. While these nodes are still present, new nodes have been added to give crafting specialists a special edge that no one else has.
Reinhold’s Favored
This new node, appearing roughly in the middle of the tree, grants bonuses to Favor earned during the King’s Caprice event. This node is optional (e.g not necessary to progress further into the tree) so you can skip it if this event is a mere speedbump to your guild.
Flawless Process
This node has been merged with its brother, Common Sense. You can spend two points to get the benefits of both. This freed up space for…
Sigil Vigil
This node greatly multiplies the results of Sigil and True Sigil fusion (up to double). It’s perfect if you’re hanging around Tier 11-12 or simply wish to sell them on the market. It is located on the branch alongside Flawless Process and Energy Infusion.
Ether Containment & Top Security
These two nodes (Ether and Jewel capacity) have been merged into one, Exotic Hoarder. It otherwise behaves the same, so you get more bang for your buck.
Serene’s Blessing & ♪Fey Friend♫
Like the above, these two nodes were merged into one, Mystical Friendship.
Duplication Glitch
A simple but powerful addition for crafting specialists, this node grants a Multicraft chance bonus to all items.
Legendary Craftsmanship
Located at the end of the Crafting Tree, this node increases the chance to craft Epic and Legendary items. We’re talking 3x here, so this ain’t no joke.
Questing Talent Tree
The Questing Talent Tree has received a fairly big shakeup to make it more interesting while also removing “trap” node combinations.
Common Farmer
This node has been merged with its brothers, Unusual Ingredients and Refined Tastes. It now simply increases the quantity of all quest components found.
Treasure Hunters
Functionally unchanged, but is now a starter node alongside Common Farmer.
Booster Refunder
The third Quest tree starting node. It grants a chance to refund Boosters used during quests. The refund appears as a quest reward (but does not replace any other reward), so you do need to succeed in the quest for the refund to work.
Defenders of the Kingdom
Similar to the Reinhold’s Favored node, this grants you bonus Airship Power (and thus event progress) during Dragon Invasion. It applies to both donated items and Heroes on the airship. This node is optional.
Raiders of the Lost City
The last of the “Event Booster” trio, this node increases Pure Gold found during the Lost City of Gold event. It is also optional.
Artifact Takers
Hidden behind Raiders of the Lost City is an extra bonus. This node allows Lost City of Gold quests to drop small quantities of LCOG components (typically 1-2). The type of component dropped matches the chest and key found in that difficulty. (e.g a quest that drops Luxurious Chests will drop Golden Artifacts)

While components dropped during the regular quests are somewhat minimal, LCOG bosses drop a more significant amount, especially when boosted by Sia, Loot Boosters, and/or the Sia’s Touch talent.
Singular Focus/Packrat Method
These nodes have been removed. Although it allowed players to better “customize” the rewards they wanted to see, they also stepped on each other's toes and could completely cancel out the effect of other nodes.

The following node is a different take on the spirit of those nodes.
No Stone Unturned
Basic quests have (approximately) 75% chance to give out a bonus reward, such as an equipment bundle or runestones. This node steadily increases these odds, up to 100%!
Shiny Only
In addition to making quality items Flawless, further investment in this node also increases the tier of these items, as well as the chance of finding Epic and Legendary items instead.
Freyja’s Prayer
The rest speed bonus is now general, instead of only affecting “dead” Heroes.
Roadside Wholesale
Now also grants a portion of that item’s merchant XP value. Keep in mind that some items, such as components and chests, have no XP values in the first place.

For technical reasons, this XP gain cannot trigger an actual player level up, XP from this source will always cap at one XP short of the next level.
Extra Questy
Is now found earlier in the tree, next to Roadside Wholesale.
On the Edge
If Extreme quests are where you feel most at home, this node provides an additional bonus to Rest Time and Quest Time when running them.
Nemesis Returns
Found at the end of the quest tree, this node grants a chance for regular quest bosses to immediately respawn after being defeated.
