New courses, new championship and new car in v1.2.2

Wazzap arcade racers!


We just realized that we haven't published any news updates since v1.0.5 and we are now on v1.2.2 😱

During the last months we've added new content, released Total Arcade Racing on Xbox and started on the PlayStation port. We have also started on our next game project, Alienstein. We are still planning to add more courses and possible cars in the future but releases will be less frequent.

New course - Triple Cross
A course designed by one of our players where the course loops over the main path 3 times causing a lot of crashes and action.



New course - Tropical Asphalt
A course which is 50% asphalt and 50% dirt road, which is awesome for the new Buggy car.



New car - Buggy
A new car with fast acceleration and great performance both on-road and off-road.



New championship - Crossy Cup
A new championship set in mostly urban courses.

* Improved: When exiting from an ongoing game you'll be directed to the same game mode on the main menu. This makes it a lot faster and easier just to change courses.
* Improved: When racing in custom game the time for the stars was always the slowest player. This has now been changed to the fastest players making it easier to unlock cars and courses even when you play together, especially with someone who isn't as good as you are.

* Fixed bug: Trying to fix Steam distance driven leaderboard which still can get a value of -2,147,483,648.
* Fixed bug: Driver license achievement only unlocks in Time Trial mode.

Hello fellow Arcade Racers!

Thanks to the community we've received a couple of design suggestions for new tracks which made us super happy and here is the first Course based on that.

We hope that you will enjoy it!

* Fixed bug: Stars was not updated on Steams stats passed 21 stars meaning you could never get the all star achievement.
* Fixed bug: When using game pad and navigate settings it skips Country if you navigate down from offline mode.

Racing out of Early Access

Hey Arcade Racers!

After 9 months in Early Access we are ready to press the boost button and let Total Arcade Racing race out of Early Access.

We cannot thank the folks enough who played the game in Early Access and provided feedback, without you the game would be very different from what we released today. Thank you all!

So what happens now? Well hopefully the launch goes smoothly but usually there are few bugs that magically appear post launch. After that it really depends on you the gamers. If you like the game and play it we will keep adding content to the game, if you don't well lets be honest then there isn't much point in adding new content.

We really hope that you enjoy the final product and it helps us a lot if you review the game.

Coming out of Early Access

Hi-ya arcade racers!


We've set the release date of Total Arcade Racing to 7th of May 2021. It will be released on Steam and Nintendo Switch simultaneously. On Steam it won't be that dramatic since the game is already available as Early Access so we'll pretty much just flip the switch and it will be released.

On Monday we'll be bringing the price up to the planned release tag which is 9.99$. We do this in order to have the ability to have a release discount of 30% on launch. So if you plan to buy the game then either do it before Monday or wait until the release to get the best deal.

[h2]Latest updates[/h2]
Since the last news post we've released 10 updates. Here are some of the highlights in the updates.

Support for keyboard mapping
The most frequent request we've had is the ability to remap the keyboard. Implementing remapping of keyboards isn't as easy as it sounds but we think that we did a pretty good job in our implementation.



New course - Jungle Rally
We set out to create a new biome and after playing around with various concepts we decided to create a jungle style course. On this course you'll drive on a dirt road where the offroad cars have an edge compared with the other cars that will slip around a lot more.



New course - Jungle Leap
Jumps are always fun in levels but they are pretty hard to get properly incorporated into levels. But on the jungle course they feel just right.



New course - Lost in Suburbia
The suburbia style level was a great addon and we decided to create another course with a similar concept but with a lot more track. This is probably the longest track we've done so far which covers most of the screen :)



Endless love
Endless mode has been somewhat lacking when it comes to variation and also how traffic worked. So either it was time to toss this mode all together or get it updated. We decided to keep the mode and put in a lot of effort to make it better. There is still room to improve it with more variation and tuning but we're pretty happy with the result now.
