Roadmap for 2026
[p]Pupultas![p]Development of Diplomacy is Not an Option continues! Earlier this year we released an update that introduced the playable Undead to Sandbox Mode. However, that was merely a tease of what lies ahead. Less foreplay — straight to the good stuff. So, what’s up for 2026?
[p]If the first year of post-release support went under the signs of the Undead and the Map Editor, the second year will be a passionate declaration of our love for the game.

The Protected Update
[p]And what matters most when it comes to love? Correct — protection. And control. That is why in March we will introduce The Protected Update — a set of maps inspired by classic tower defence gameplay, designed to put your fortifications to the ultimate test. Attacking waves will grow stronger and more frequent, rising like desire in anticipation. Fortunately, Scott the Bloody will once again return to lead the Rebel troops — now fully under your command. Together with them, you will not just fill the cracks in your walls, but build a truly unbreakable defence, perfected to the point of absolute impenetrability. Armed means protected. We will also add custom maps we have featured previously into the game, allowing players to easily discover interesting scenarios, while giving map creators yet another reason to craft something special.

The Loving Update
[p]Spring is a time for passion. While we prepare something bigger, March will bring something again — a smaller, more restrained, yet no less intimate surprise: new maps as part of The Loving Update. For a careful and long emotional siege.

The Deep Update
[p]April marks the start of delivering on your most important requests — the ones we have heard loud and clear. We will dive into the very core of gameplay mechanics to add even more depth. Your feedback has made one thing clear: the Lord’s research tree currently lacks expressiveness. That is why The Deep Update will revolve around a reworked progression system — reimagined and meticulously refined so that every research path can be completed to the very end with a sense of satisfaction. After all, depth is defined not by size, but by the right tool — and the skill to use it. Sarranga will not be left behind either and will receive its own thick branch of technologies. Additionally, your scouts will undergo special training, allowing them to report attacking wave compositions in far greater detail.

The Bigger, Longer Update
[p]Staying true to the course set by your requests, we keep up the pace. Diplomacy is Not an Option is a complex game with many nuanced mechanics, and to succeed — and, more importantly, to enjoy the experience — they must be felt, not just understood. To help with that, in May we are preparing The Bigger, Longer Update, built entirely around another frequent request: making the game clearer and more approachable. The tutorial system will be expanded, allowing newcomers to get into the rhythm faster and fully grasp control over the game. Having a big stick is less important — hitting the target with the first strike is what truly matters. We will also improve the interface, making it flexible and comfortable. With UI scaling, you will be able to adjust it to a size that suits you. And if commanding from above is not your style and you crave the heat of battle, you will be able to take direct control of a single warrior to feel every sharp edge of combat — and achieve a sweet feeling of domination. Just hope that enemy catapult balls do not interrupt your rushing into enemy ranks with brute force…

The Penetrative Update
[p]We will continue to implement your feedback, and June will be dedicated to improving the campaign. Alongside The Penetrative Update, we will introduce a new layer of progression. Due to the specifics of DiNaO, a traditional form of meta-progression does not fit the game, so we have devised our own, unique solution. The core idea remains the same: to deliver a sense of growth and advancement after every completed mission.

The Hot Update
[p]In August, prepare for The Hot Update. It will bring scorching maps that will challenge your endurance in intense battles.

The Culmination
[p]And in October, something truly massive awaits you. The Culmination. Unforgettable. We will keep the intrigue for now, but trust us — it will be worth it. Stay tuned for more news, and thank you for being with us!
Yours, the Door 407 dev team
