December update and sale!

[p]Pupultas!
[p]The December update is finally here! As you already know, it adds a new easy difficulty setting for the Campaign and the playable Undead in Map Editor.
[p]But that’s not all — with it we’ve improved campaign map navigation! Now in the right side of your screen you will see a list of available missions (including completed ones you can replay) and will be able to switch sides on a whim. Another addition is for the Undead fans: a new Endless Mode map of high difficulty for the Undead. A truly metal adventure!
[p]As usual, the full list of changes is hidden under the cut, but you can also get the gist of it by watching the video: [dynamiclink][/dynamiclink]
[p]On the side note, Steam Winter Sale has launched! As so, Diplomacy is Not an Option, as well as the additional content, is 55% off till January 5!

Update 1.0.105_r

Features
  • Added a new easiest difficulty level — Easy-Peasy Lemon Squeezy;
  • The Undead faction as playable is now in Map Editor. Map Editor User Guide was updated accordingly;
  • Added a new Endless Mode map for the playable Undead, named “...and judgement for all!”. Extra hard;
  • Reworked campaign map navigation. Now it is possible to switch between different story branches right on the campaign map, without reloading previous saves. To do that, select a branching mission in the newly added list of available missions and choose a branch you want. Switching branches doesn’t delete your progress in other branches;
General
  • Updated the difficulty selection window for the campaign map;
  • Added new portraits for messages in Map Editor;
Improvements
  • Reduced density of unit placement with Enemy and Troop Spawn Tool (in Sandbox and Map Editor);
  • Changed presets of attacking waves for Others faction (in Sandbox and Map Editor);
  • Some UI/UX fixes and improvements;
Balance
  • Changed the number of Death Metal fields in all campaign missions of the Undead branch in all difficulties (except for Ultra-Hardcore). In general, easier difficulties now have more fields while harder ones - less;
Bug Fixes
  • A bug that sometimes allowed players to place a Nightmare General on a tower;
  • A bug that let players construct more buildings than Defilement limit should allow while on pause;
  • A bug that caused a custom map created with messages and no mission objectives end with a win screen right after the messages appearing;
  • A bug that stopped a custom map from launching if it contained an enemy building with spawning turned on, but the list of enemy spawn was empty;
  • A bug that made quicksaving while in Photo Mode break UI;
  • A rare bug that would break UI after switching between attacking wave setups (Quick / Advanced) in Sandbox;
  • A bug in Debugging of the Sarranga Tribe challenge that lead to enemy Sarranga citizens geting stuck after being scared;
  • Some localization fixes.

About the December update: Map Editor and the Undead

[p]Pupultas!
[p]The December update is coming along nicely! And as we’ve mentioned earlier, it will add a new easy difficulty setting. Another frequently requested feature that will arrive is the ability to make maps in Map Editor with the playable Undead! It will have all the features available to the Lord’s Forces — landscape generation, troop spawning, object property modification. Of course, specifics of the Undead change some aspects of the Map Editor. As such, the Map Editor User Guide will be updated accordingly!
[p]And as usual, another short video about the upcoming addition!

About the December update: a new difficulty setting

[p]Pupultas!
[p]As you’ve probably heard (and some of you even helped us test it), a new Easy-Peasy Lemon Squeezy difficulty setting is coming to Diplomacy is Not an Option! It will appear in the next update, and today we are ready to announce the date: it will arrive on December 18!
[p]We hope it helps more players to follow the adventures of our valiant hero and his companions, no matter the side they pick.
[p]And as usual, a small video about the upcoming update.

November Community Showcase, Autumn Map Choice and questions for you!

[p]Pupultas!
[p]November has almost ended and it means the time has come to choose another Community Map to highlight! After a couple of tough maps, we’ve decided it’s time for something easier, so today we are looking at Devourer of Souls!
[p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][p]Devourer of Souls is a medium difficulty map, where resources are plentiful and the area around the Town Hall is easy to clear with starting troops. There is a catch, though — one corner of the map is occupied by none other than Ozzie. His lair is surrounded by mountains with a narrow path leading there, which means you are relatively safe... at least for a while. You have 60 days and 12 attacking waves to prepare before your activity catches his attention and Ozzie joins the last attack. Or take the initiative and bring the fight to him — just be careful not to kill every single enemy on the map if you still want to see the last wave, as killing all the enemies on the map will end the scenario beforehand. Or simply reap the deserved victory. In any case, have fun!
[p][p]Autumn is over, so we wanted to take another look at the maps highlighted this season, and choose one that we feel is the most unique. Not the best — every map we’ve seen is great — but the one that provides different from the usual DiNaO experience using Map Editor tools.
[p]And this is… Operation Raccoon City! While definitely a challenge not for everyone, FOTCH, its author, has put a lot of effort into creating a massive city amidst a zombie apocalypse — which deserves attention. Even if you need therapy after playing it!
[p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][p]Last but not least, we wanted to ask for your opinion! Do you like these showcases? Should we continue highlighting community maps? Maybe you want to vote for the map of a season yourself?
[p]Also, if you want to share your map with us, join our Discord server and post it in #custom-maps channel!

Pupultas, we need your votes!

Pupultas!
[p]A year has passed since Diplomacy is Not an Option has been released. A good year of updates which brought to the game the Map Editor, the reworked Undead, new Challenges and Endless maps, and other improvements!
[p]A new year is coming. This means, it’s once again the time to nominate games for Steam Awards. We would be happy if you nominate us for the Labor of Love award — as DiNaO is truly a labor of love for us.
