Diplomacy is Not an Option News

A bit of surprising news

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
My Lords, My Ladies, a moment of your attention, please.

Today we're not talking about "Diplomacy is Not an Option" so much as about the game URBO, which just got its first trailer and the updated Steam page.

Why did we decide to tell you about it? Because it's our second title! We are honing our skills, developing our handwriting, and trying ourselves in different genres. Urbo is not that big, and in most aspects, it's not that complicated. On the contrary, it's a puzzle game with an emphasis on the single mechanics and the atmosphere. Still, we really hope that Urbo will find admirers among DiNaO fans.

For those who are troubled by this news, just in case: the making of the second game won't affect the development of "Diplomacy is Not an Option". Like we've stated earlier, a December update is being prepared for release. After that, the team will focus attention on the story campaign.

Thank you very much for your support.

About us working on two projects

Friends! The previous post about Door 407 developing Urbo, in addition to Diplomacy is Not an Option, evoked mixed reactions. Many of you felt that creating something new, having an unfinished game in Early Access is not exactly a nice and fair thing to do.

Indeed, some studios betray users' trust by switching to another project without finishing the old one. Well, we are not that kind of studio. And right now, we're about to explain why.

Door 407 is a small studio. However, it has several independent teams, each involved in a different project. While one team was actively developing DiNaO, the other was working on concepts for the next-gen city-building simulator. In fact, the second team was so enthusiastic about working through the possible options that the materials already created by it were quite enough to make a small game. Thus was born Urbo.

As for the people involved in the development of DiNaO - they are still there.

Ladies and gentlemen, DiNaO has been in Early Access for 10 months. During that time we have already rewritten some of its core components from scratch. But the scope of work is still huge. Next year, on the release date, we'll be bringing out a full-fledged story campaign. We intend to make it so that it meets your expectations as well as our standards.

New challenge is coming!

Hello guys! This time we are launching a competition called "Imagine the map".

To participate in the competition you need to describe the funniest or the toughest map in DiNaO you only can imagine.

Authors of top-5 descriptions will receive keys. Text your ideas here, we will consider all options. At the end of the event we will announce the winners right here in the comments section.

The plan we're stick to

A few words on top of what is already said.

Currently we're working on the next update to be released this December. So you're going to see with your own eyes the most part of the declared improvements pretty much soon.

After the upcoming update, the team will be focused on the Single-player Campaign. We want to finish it as soon as possible. However, it doesn't mean we are going to cut corners here. Quality is priority after all. It is crucial for us to deliver the variety of mission targets to Diplomacy is Not an Option. The story branches should differ from each other not only in terms of plot, but in the very spirit of the game. We don't want our fans to feel cheated or disappointed by the sameness of missions if their wish is to replay DiNaO and unlock alternate endings.

The second important goal is to improve the late game. We are aware of the problems you are facing, so we intend to fix them before the game leaves Early Access.

In addition to the planned changes, we're preparing a lot of other sweet little things that will help diversify the game experience and make DiNaO even more enjoyable. Last but not least, we promise you not to stop polishing the game, fixing bugs and adjusting the balance.

Thank you for being with us.
Yours, the Door 407 team.

Autumn sale and livestream

With the Autumn sale comes the livestream!
Our charming community manager is going to celebrate her birthday with Diplomacy is Not an Option fans. Hurry up, her broadcast is starting.

This time diplomacy is not an option. We need that prize!

Friends! It turns out that we can participate in Steam awards. No doubt we can win, question is in which nomination... Most players agree that DiNaO feels like a pencil sharpener used on your teeth. An exotic and painful experience. We've tried to make the game easier, but let's face it — we've failed. So instead of applying for 'Labor of Love' or 'Outstanding Story-Rich Game', we're going after the nomination DiNaO was born for – 'Best Game You Suck At'. Hear our solemn vow! If we win, we'll finally make our game easier. Well, sort of. Just a bit...
