Greetings, Diplomacy is Not an Option fans!

We continue to cover the upcoming October update. Today we' re going to talk about the changes that will affect explosions in the game.

A bit of background information. We have received a considerable amount of feedback, in which people were confused why, for example, a Trebuchet's projectile damages evenly all the enemies. In other words, it makes no difference how far from the explosion epicenter a particular enemy stands. Well, that's because there are no epicenters for explosions in Diplomacy is Not an Option.

Here's how the explosion causes damage to enemies now:


Let's face it, in a game that claims to have realistic physics, there can be no such inconsistencies.

Here's how we'll be blowing up enemies in the October update:


Let us make a few points clear.

1) The maximum damage occurs at the epicenter of the explosion (No matter whether from Catapult or Trebuchet projectile, Meteor spell or as a result of the "Burrdam Chimera" ability activation).
2) The farther away from the epicenter, the lower the damage. At the same time, all enemies will still be thrown by the blast wave. So, there is a probability that the nearly undamaged enemy will fly over your fortifications.
3) We put in the 'damage at epicenter' stats in the descriptions of Catapult, Trebuchet, "Burrdam Chimera", and Meteor spell, so the numbers will be higher. In case of Meteor spell it's likely to kill everyone it hits.

Breaking radio silence


Hail to you, good sirs and fair ladies! Today we're revealing the first details about the next update, coming this October.

Let us introduce you to major UX improvements to come


Firstly, the attack radius for all ranged troops and war machines will be displayed.


Secondly, the attack area will be highlighted during the execution of "Attack point" order. Also we're improving the cursors (among other things, there will be a cursor "hinting" that the order can not be executed).


Thirdly, players will finally be able to see both, their own and enemy units !through! obstacles (such as mountains, trees, and buildings).


Needless to say, that list of changes we're making to the game is far from complete. So, please, consider this post as a reminder that we're here with you. The development of Diplomacy is Not an Option continues. In the future, we will try to tell you more about what else to expect in the October update.

Performance Update. Patch 0.9.60.

Suddenly we've found a way to improve the game performance. We decided not to keep you waiting for the next large update, so you can test how it feels right away. Just saying, performance is not the only thing that we've improved with current patch.

Improvements
- Performance increased drastically. The game gives more FPS, visual lags are reduced, GPU load reduced. In general, everything looks smoother (especially in the late game);
- Performance also became better when there are no enemies on map;
- Improved wall-building algorithm;
- Improved performance of the job search algorithm for workers;

General
- When curing nearest targets, Healers look for those with the lowest health (as a percentage);
- Added engineers to Catapult, Trebuchet and Ballista models. They additionally indicate the number of free workers required for these war machines production;
- Units that cannot be thrown in the air by explosions now have an icon indicating the related passive skill. (The name and description of the skill will appear in the next update in all supported languages);

Balance
- "Burrdam Chimera": blast radius increased by a third;
- Horse archer: accelerates faster and turns easier.

Bug Fixes
- Bug with war machines execute only "Attack point" order after being removed from defensive structures with the "Attack point" order active;
- Bug that disrupted Healers' work, once they've been ordered to move while casting a spell;
- Incorrect work of the free workers counter when hiring troops that cost more than 1 free worker;
- False illness warning that appeared after loading a save. (Happened if the sick were recruited as troops);
- Incorrect unit collision when 'Attack and move' order is constantly repeated;
- Localization fixes.
