In this patch we've fixed an edge case where respawning after falling through the world (typically due to having player collisions with high ping) would cause issues with AI not being able to target players.

Dev Update: The Asylum Map Ritual Area

We know you've been waiting for more details on The Asylum, so here's a first look at an important area of DEVOUR's upcoming new map!

As you now know, Molly is the one who'll be hunting you down in The Asylum. As well as looking and moving differently to Anna, she also has her own unique story. After banishing the demon Azazel, Molly was committed to a barbaric asylum and spent the next 3 years being strapped down and subjected to grotesque electroshock treatments.





As her mind deteriorated, Molly began experimenting with ways to reproduce Anna's original summoning ritual and bring Azazel back. In this new ritual area, you'll learn more about what Molly was doing, as well as what you can do to reverse it... if she doesn't stop you first. Similar to The Farmhouse map, it is the place where you will perform special... procedures... which involve a rather shocking amount of electricity.



We are only a small team, so we can't say for sure when the new map will be ready. We are working as hard as we can. We'll continue to post more DEVOUR updates, so keep on checking in. Dev Update: New Character Concept Art

Everyone loves a sneak peak. Here's a look at some of the concept art for Molly, who will be hunting you down in the new, upcoming DEVOUR map. We've also included a look at some of the other visual elements of the map's environment - a creepy, private asylum.

Please note that all of the following images are concept art and NOT final representations of what you will see in-game. We are continuing to tweak the map, so the final result might be slightly different.

Update 1.1: New Hard Mode, Robes, Lobby Redesign & more!

While our priority is working on the next map for DEVOUR, we also wanted to release a bunch of exciting new features to continue to improve our game for players. Today we are releasing v1.1. Please read below for more details on all of the changes!

[h2]Hard mode[/h2]

Our goal is for DEVOUR to have plenty of replayability. That being said, we understand that Nightmare mode is brutally challenging and has only been completed by our more hardcore players.

From today you can now play a new Hard mode which sits inbetween the existing modes.

  1. Normal: The base difficulty. Unchanged.
  2. Hard: New! UV flashlight has reduced capacity and regen speed. (Beat Normal to unlock)
  3. Nightmare: The hardest difficulty. Unchanged. (i.e. No UV flashlight). (Beat Hard to unlock)

[h2]New Robes[/h2]

Hard Robe: Unlocked by completing the new Hard mode



Nightmare Robe: Unlocked by completing the Nightmare mode. (This replaces the old bloody robe)



Fire Robe: Unlocked by completing the "Twisted Firestarter!" achievement (Lit altar 100 times)

[h2]Lobby Redesign[/h2]

In order to make room for new robes, characters and maps we have redesigned the Lobby UI. While we do plan to improve other parts of the UI, the Lobby has always been our priority.



[h2]Other changes[/h2]

  • Reworked crawling on stairs so that it feels smoother and does not rotate players incorrectly
  • Improved the animation for when players are carrying objects
  • UV gauge visuals improved to show empty capacity
  • Displays a message when a player disconnects from a game
  • Improved jumping audio sounds
  • Improved various dialogue audio that was clipping or distorted
  • Demon spawn/fry/banish audio improved
  • Lowered the outdoors weather volume slightly
  • Red basement door is no longer interactable when on the ground
  • Fixed a case where Anna could get stuck near the stable by the altar
  • Goats will no longer try to reach dropped hay when inside of a locked room
  • Fixed an issue where players could be held by a despawning demon just after the 10th goat is burned
  • Various tweaks to reduce GPU memory requirements by optimizing textures

This patch addresses an issue where demons would sometimes get stuck when trying to grab players. Nothing else to see!
