The cleanup continues!

Dear Tinkerers,

It's another Tinker Tuesday - wohooo! In keeping with our latest activities, the "Spring Cleaning" patch and the building contest with the theme "Back to Nature", it's another update focused on tending to Mother Earth!

In this one the Forest has been tidied up, removing some bushes and trees to allow for easier exploration. Please keep away from the forest monsters though! They are as dangerous as usual...

Once you’ve progressed further into the game, you will obtain new Workbenches, giving access to new recipes. To follow the games logic, we’ve moved their recipes to the Players internal crafting menu.

We’ve also added two new tracks to the Desert and Ice Biome at Night, please bop along.

The changes in a neat li'l list:

Early Access 0.16.11

  • Added new night time tracks to the Ice and Desert Biome
  • Updated Forest Biome, making it easier to explore
  • Moved all Workbenches once unlocked to the Players Inventory-Crafting

Thank you for making this game and community so good!

Building contest winners announced!

Dear tinkerers,

After an epic week of building, with the clang of hammers vibrating through Tinkertown and dust clouds in the air, our three winners in the building contest have emerged!

The theme was "Back to Nature" and we got a whole host of really good submissions - thank your for being so passionate about our game, it was great to see your creativity!

Aaaaaaaand the winner is... Our Discord user Butter_Neko_ValentinE! ːsteamhappyː

They built an oasis in the form of a butterfly, with the wings and the body making up different rooms!

We also want to celebrate our Discord user CaioSM who snagged second place!

They put together this nice word puzzle style constellation!

A big hooray also for our third place - user ¿¿¿!

They took us on a house tour around the docks and to the nice fireplace.

To see all the submissions, head over to our Discord. That way you'll get noticed when we have more stuff like this!

And if you missed the contest this time, don't fret! The next one is only a few weeks away...

Good work everybody, see you soon!

Spring cleaning in Tinkertown!

Dear Tinkerers,

Spring is coming and we've dusted off our magic chests while singing the new song of the Mines!
We even renovated some parts of the Ice Dungeon and turned over every stone, bush, reed and pile of dirt in every biome!

Here's a list of what's been changed with this patch:

  • Added a new area inside the Ice Dungeon, showing off the hookshot capabilities once obtained
  • Added new music track to the mines to improve its ambience
  • Added a note in the patch notes, in the case that something requires the player to create a new world in order to experience it
  • Added a Note to Player Worlds into the World Selection, to alert if they do not support the latest changes
  • Improved teleport transitions
  • Fixed the magic chest and its content being inaccessible and/or unresponsive
  • Improved tiles in biomes to work properly when placing and removing floor tiles, especially via shovel.
  • Adjusted various droprates

A lot of the small stuff has been finished already and almost all of us are focusing on bigger tasks.

This might mean we will need more time for the next content update and patches, but no worries, we'll keep you up to date!

Much love,
your Tinkertown Dev Team!

Dear Tinkerers,

It's Friday! What fits better than a friendly Tinkertown building contest when the weekend vibes are flowing?

The Road Ahead

Dear Tinkerers,

When we first started developing Tinkertown 3 years ago, we never expected it to turn into this huge and beautiful world full of adventures you can experience today. Throughout the years we were able to watch our team, Tinkertown’s features and most importantly you, our community, grow. We are more than thankful to be able to work on this project and are equally grateful for your continuous support and feedback. After all the hard work that has been put into the game, we are happy to share that we are getting close to the end of Early Access for Tinkertown.

But before we’ll be launching this huge project into 1.0, we still have some work and awesome features pending for the game to reach its full potential

Let’s be honest: Our game still has a few rough edges, including features we’ve implemented but needed to cut out again (yes, I’m looking at you gathering for NPC:s!) and some that have yet to find their way into the game (we’re not exclusively talking about the Lava Biome). However, this is going to change! As you might have seen in the last two months since our last bigger update, we’ve focused on smaller patches and will continue to do so on a regular basis, as well as keeping YOU informed about what’s happening behind the scenes. Don’t fret, even though we call them smaller updates, they contain much more than you think.

*Mockup. Not final.

Here are some examples of planned updates, to give you an idea:
  • Database update: Paving the way for Cloud Saves and majorly improved performance. Plus, this feature serves as the groundwork to update various features.
  • Quest Rework: A new interface to keep track of every quest you’re doing and have been doing and its rewards
  • Updated UI: An easier-to-read UI, crafting stations, as well as a library to check for every recipe out there!
  • A new NPC feature: We will dedicate this topic more space at a later time, but it will keep you much more engaged in supporting and getting to know your new neighbors
  • New Map: An updated World Map, as well as a new tool to make it easier to navigate through ;)

Additionally, we are preparing various iterations of our current system (including, but not limited to):
  • Dying in dungeons will be more forgiving
  • Adjustments on Biome Flora for better exploration

Thanks again for being so supportive and for your help in building our beloved Tinkertown,
your Tinkertown Team!
