Closed Alpha is now live!!!

Ash of Legends is in free closed alpha! We are looking for alpha testers. Testers that give significant feedback will get the Early Access version for free! Sign up here...Link to google form.

You can read some reviews on our discussion page. Please give us a way to contact you or just post "I want to join" here or on our Steam discussion page. Please give your extremely valuable feedback on our Steam discussion page.

  1. 5 new scenes: Hangar, Orchard, City, River, and Underground River.
  2. 3 new difficulties: Easy, Normal, and Hard.
  3. 8 enemy types.
  4. More than a dozen weapons.
  5. More than a dozen traps and towers.
If you use a Vive headset and Valve Index controllers, you can use the launch option: "-platform index" without the quotes. No longer needed.

Our game supports both native Oculus and SteamVR apps. If you have an Oculus and want, for some reason, to use the SteamVR app, then the Oculus app must not be installed.

We recommend using thumbstick click to jump. If you use the Valve Index controllers, both thumbstick click and touchpad press work. For Windows Mixed Reality players, if your thumbstick click opens a dashboard, please select the WMR icon and set "Use joystick press to open Steam VR dashboard" to off. You can change jump styles in our options menu.

Please bear with us, more keys are being requested. Thank you.

Ash of Legends now supports Valve Index!

  • Grappling to zip line causes flat-looking hook.
  • Index right build button was not working.
  • Index default jump "button" is now touchpad press. Thumbstick click also works.
  • Index default grip style is now "Squeeze", not "Toggle".
  • Index grip sensitivity too low. Made it harder to squeeze.
  • You can now hold objects with grip or trigger, formerly was just trigger.
  • You can now throw the saber immersively with both grip and trigger. For safety reasons, do this only if you have Index controllers.
  • Saber can now only go into hip holsters to avoid confusion.

Minimap, X-ray vision, boat sail, and more...

  • Use the minimap on your wristwatch as a long range scanner to prepare for those pesky Suicide Bombers.
  • The purple button on your wristwatch enables a short range X-ray that lets you see through your walls! It only works in Combat phase.
  • The boat now has a sail you can grapple and build on! No more jumping around after building walls on the boat.
  • The player controller on the boat has been refactored to have a consistent feel compared to moving on land. They are both now based on physics forces rather than abrupt stop-and-go velocity.
  • While grappling on the boat, if you let go you should now maintain some momentum but not too much or you'll fall off the boat.
  • Player avatar now scales with player height and has new walking/running animations.
  • Holsters are in a better position and the belt is now visible only in the tutorial.
  • Disallow telekinesis'd object to go behind controller. It's confusing when the wall/floor/ramp is behind you.
  • Assault rifle now spits out shells. Like all physics-based shells, they may hit you in the face ːsteamfacepalmː.
