Update 1.9.1

Changes
  • Added damage indicators
  • Added a long-overdue custom healthbar for the Pixel death effect
  • Added steam friends list grouping so you can see which of your friends are playing Redmatch 2 together

Update 1.9.0

Changes
  • Added the Fashionable Attire DLC which contains 5 hats, including a Propeller hat, Top hat, Halo, Googly eyes, and Horns. The Horns hat grows whenever you get a kill!
  • Added language support for Italian, Swedish, Danish, Greek, Portuguese, Bulgarian, and more
  • Redesigned find match menu
  • Animations will now sync (reloading, aiming down sights)
  • Added flags to the languages cuz it looks pretty
  • Instead of figuring out how to fix the infinite match bug, it now just says "Infinite" when the match goes infinite. Whatever, at least it's not ugly now
  • Increased the maximum player count for matches from 20 to 50
Bugfixes
  • Fixed some issues with missing characters in localized languages
  • Fixed bug where the screen would turn black when respawning
  • Fixed the orientation of the Determination death effect in the main menu

Update 1.8.4

  • Removed the AFK timer
  • Redesigned the scoreboard UI
  • Added more spawnpoints
  • Completely removed the old account system. Everything is now dependent on Steam, and your in-game username is just your Steam username.
  • Finished switching networking solutions, which means reduced latency across the board.
  • Added pings to matches so you can see the latency to the host before joining
Bugfixes
  • Custom skins will now save between rounds and game restarts
  • Fixed an issue where you could not leave the computer terminal


Since it's a new networking solution, you can expect quite a few bugs. Please tell me if you find any so I can fix them ASAP.

  • Fixed the World Trip achievement breaking after adding Orbit
  • Fixed the Learning the ABCs achievement not working on usernames that didn't start with an english letter
  • Fixed players being able to use blank names

Update 1.7.0

Changes
  • Added a new map, Orbit
  • Added language support. Pick the language you want to play in from the main menu. It will default to the language steam is running in. There are 11 languages so far, but more are planned for future updates
  • Removed the old account system. You no longer need to sign up to track stats or earn experience
  • Optimized the networking code a ton. You should see much less latency when killing players and moving around
  • Added a physics tickrate setting, which will make the game feel a lot smoother at the cost of performance. A map reload is required for it to take effect
  • Re-added chat
  • Added Steam Chat Filtering, which means you now control the chat filter level through your steam account
  • Added a controller detection notice since far too many people were asking me why their player was looking up at the sky
Bugfixes
  • Fixed the First Aid achievement not working
  • Unlocked hidden achievements will now show the proper unlocked icon
  • Fixed some lighting errors on the map Village


StickyGoGos, Barrels, and Ammo Pickups will return in a future update. I'm still working on optimizing them properly, because the hundreds at a time before put a huge strain on the servers.
