We are happy to say that we are participating in Steam Autumn sale and in Steam award nomination.

We have been working on our game for quite a while now and got some feedback from players that helped us change a lot of things in the game, one of which is the UI.

We were happy to receive positive feedback which has among other things praised our graphical style of the game! That's why we decided to participate in the Steam awards nomination for the Visual Style, as we feel that it "distinctive look and feel that suffuses an entire game" as the nomination says.

We are continuing our works on the game and if you feel that the style is catching your eye you can now smash that Visual Style button! ːsteamthumbsupː

The Wicked Days major update and sale! Gamepad support, GUI rework.



[h2] Major update [/h2]

[h3] The Wicked Days, our top-down zombie shooter is having a major update! To celebrate this, the game is on sale.

Thanks to your feedback and support, we have reworked GUI and HUD and now you can play our game using gamepad!

Our game The Wicked Days is having our first big update!

A lot has changed since version that we released for the first time to early access.

Thanks for writing us bug reports and your feedback and for your steam reviews!

After acquiring enough feedback we have reworked the graphical user interface, added item description and stats. Heads-up display is also updated, players now are able to see status effects even better, also player now is warned if his health is too low.

We received lots of questions about controllers support and although we already were working on it, we have moved it up in the priority list and with this update it is possible to play The Wicked Days with a gamepad!

We have also added more enemy encounters, more loot and items to the map!

We hope you will enjoy this update! We will continue to listen to feedback, tweak stuff and add new things.

Now lets see what we have done in this update in detail:

Major changes:
  • Added controller support

  • Added new display for when the player is taking damage

  • Added display of low player health

  • The inventory has been reworked with a new design and new interface

  • Now there is a window with information about the item, when you hover over it

  • Now there are tooltips when using items that affect the characteristics of the character

  • Added the ability to use items directly from the inventory (with double click and a specially made button)

  • Status effects (Bleeding, Burning, Stun) are now displayed directly above the character's head

  • More enemies have been added to the map, now they are encountered more often

  • More items and weapons have been added to the map, now they are more common

  • Increased car survivability, now it's more fun to crush zombies






Other changes:

  • Cosmetic changes in the main menu before starting the game

  • Added some missing item icons

  • Added some steps in learning at the start of the game


Bug fixes:

  • Fixed a bug with the automatic launch of VR at the start of the game, if it was present on the computer
  • Fixed bugs that sometimes would occur with body armor - in rare cases some of the armor would not work when the character picked it up
  • Fixed some inventory errors (locking the mouse when firing after exiting the inventory, inability to open the inventory immediately after exiting the inventory)
  • Fixed inventory bugs when using supplies directly from the inventory
  • Fixed bugs of behavior of cars that would sometimes occur
  • Fixed an issue where zombies could sometimes appear sleepy and not react to what was happening around them
  • Fixed an issue with loading after death before the player finds the first Ducknet booth
  • Fixed a problem with pressing LMB to skip the starting video - sometimes this partially would lock controls
  • Fixed some bugs in action volumes (sometimes they could serve as invisible obstacles for shooting)
  • Fixed a bug with the appearance of the military near the trailer park (sometimes they did not appear)
  • Fixed a bug when sometimes items would appear higher than necessary above ground
  • Fixed a bug when sometimes items would appear only after a long time

The Wicked Days is now available in early access on Steam!



[h2] Going early access and what we have right now in early access[/h2]

[h3]Good day to everyone who reads us and is interested in our game The Wicked Days, thanks for the support!

Our game The Wicked Days has finally released into early access on Steam!
A lot has changed since the old version that we were opening up for the free playtest. Some things we have changed completely and others we have added.

Lets see what we have got in this early access on this day:



  • We have got our main hero Marvin Todds and his special abilities and we are working now on our second hero;

  • We have got a new map, which is approximately 1 km x 1 km;

  • The map now has telephone booths where the player is able to save his progress;

  • Several melee weapons, including fire axe and chainsaw;

  • Guns and handguns of different caliber;

  • Several cars that you can drive, you can fix them with gears and fill with gas if the tank is empty;

  • Zombies now might drop ammo or medkids, human enemies in addition to ammo and medkits might drop weapons;

  • Armor system of light, medium and heavy armor;

  • There are several boss fights;

  • There are quest lines to get out of the place using different ways.

  • The map has some secret places that are fun to explore

  • There are some items hidden on the map that can give you new traits


In terms of early access, we would like to release big updates about every two months.

We have some plans for content for heroes and quests that we would like to implement first.

What we are working on right now:

  • Fixing known bugs;

  • Tweaking boss fights;

  • ammo balance;

  • A new quest line with mr. P;

  • A new hero and hero's abilities;


If you have encountered a but playing the game please don't forget to send us a bug report! You can do this either by pressing F10 or by using the duck icon on the left of the screen and pushing "bug report". The better you describe the situation, the better we can understand what might cause the problem.

[h3]Good day to everyone who reads us and is interested in our game The Wicked Days, thanks for your support!

About two months before the release, we realized that the map we had was not of proper quality. In order to deliver a more interesting product, we decided to completely redo the landscape. In addition, we collected feedback during the open test period. We saw that it works, but decided that we could take a chance and make a more interesting map of a higher quality.

We understood that we needed to postpone the release date and therefore in all interviews we said that the old date was set a year ago, for the most part in connection with the requirements of the incentive to participate in the Steam Summer game festival.

We are going into Early Access mostly because restoring content on a new map takes more resources and time than we initially anticipated. In addition this will allow us to interact more closely with the community and discuss new content, receiving feedback. Besides, this will allow players to be even more involved in the development of the game.

In terms of early access, we would like to release big updates about every two months.

We have some plans for content for heroes and quests that we would like to implement first.

We are working on: stealth system and finishing moves!

[h3]We have made some changes and additions to our inside game build.

After some more testing and bug fixing we will roll out the update to the public.

Players will have finishing moves, can be sneaky or can be loud and can gun while they run.

Zombies will be able hear noises and have line of sight!

  7. If player sneaks, less noise is made
