It's getting really cold outside this time of year (unless you live on the Equator or something), which means it's time to stay indoors and play video games with your heater cranked up to 99. We at FanFaction recommend a VERY fun game with over 40 hours of gameplay so far, that being Night Spasm!

The Steam Autumn Sale is coming up soon, so we figured it's about time we released everything new we've been working hard on! Updates are our way of saying "thank you" to our dedicated fans! We've had over 135 players 100% Chapter 1 already! That's a lot of routes to play! If so many players are willing to beat the game, will you be next?

Either way, here are the patch notes for Night Spasm version 1.0.7.4!

-You can now begin a new game with the option of skipping the intro, the tutorial, or both.

-Added a brand-new route for unlocking Westly!

-Added more caves to explore in Region A1.

-Leaving and returning to the base will now fully heal every party member present.

-Reduced the amount of EXP required for Theodore, Vander, and Evana to level up.

-All survivor characters now have the same EXP requirement for leveling up.

-Leveling up no longer provides an increase in MCL or MHL for any character.

-Shadow encounter battles are now escapable.

-Shadow encounter battles will now have randomly chosen music.

-Greatly nerfed the SA and SP values when a party member levels up.

-Buffed the PN values when a party member levels up.

-Nerfed the EVA, CNT, and CEV values for some party members.

-Buffed the HIT values for some party members.

-The game will now recognize when a returning player starts a new game.



The release of Night Spasm: Chapter 2 is coming up sooner than we expected, and since it's going to be a little trickier than Chapter 1, we made many balancing changes to the level-up system. It should be easier for players to level up their party members while also requiring more skill-based strategy in battle. Additionally, as we've done many times in the past, we've equalized the ratio between offensive and defensive strategies!
