Terrordrome: Reign Of The Legends Development Update: January 2023

Happy New Year's From The Terror Team!
This year, we are expecting some big updates and will have much to share in the coming months! For now, lets look at where we are currently!

Characters

The Wendigo
Animations for the Wendigo are now complete! Integration of the character for testing purposes in engine are underway. Here's a quick preview of the Wendigo in engine on his
Home stage!

This character's voice lines are still being recorded, we'll have previews to share as we approach this character's release. This character's moveset has been finalized, and death sentences have been completed. The main work that is left is to begin integration of the character after this next update, testing for balance and bugs, and polishing visual effects and sounds!
Spring Heeled Jack
Spring Heeled Jack animation progress continues as normal. We are primarily focusing on reaction animations still, as our current attention is focused on preparing the next two stages to release alongside The Wendigo.
Stages

The Winter Forest
Currently, the Winter Forest is seeing the most work as of now. Nearly finalized, this stage is still in need of a music track, which we will commission from our amazing composer Michal Ratkowski as we near completion.
The Realm Of Agony
The Realm of Agony has also seen some changes since we have last shown it off. Here is an updated preview for you to see! We have included instruments of torture, and more damned souls that make up the entity that is The Lady in White.

This stage is now finalized and a new music track is underway!
Stage overhauls
The team has also begun testing some improvements to other existing stages, mostly in the form of lighting and some small visual effects. Throughout this month, these overhauls will be getting attention. We do not have much to share in this matter, but thought it'd be nice to mention. More details will be present in this matter next month.
Other News

What To Expect In The Next Update
We thought it would be important to specify that our next update will primarily focus on the new User Interface, Main Menu, Pause Menu, and Character Selection Menu. Along with this comes a variety of bug fixes that the team has encountered during the past few months from the current live build. We are also looking to launch Terrordrome: Reign of The Legends on The Epic Games store in Early Access with the release of the next update.

Because we have yet to finalize these menu changes, unfortunately we have not began to include new content to the game just yet, however work for new content continues as normal. We are still actively working on stages, new music tracks, and character animations at this time. There is just no coding for these assets in-game as of this time.

After the release of the next update focusing on the Menu/User interface, we will begin full integration of the Wendigo and the new stages. We are actively testing this character in engine, and we have began preparing a test build to include this character for patrons to experience as well!

Thanks again for continuing to follow us through this journey! We are expecting to have a busy year!
Happy New Years!

Terrordrome: Reign Of The Legends Development Update: December 2022

Happy Holidays from the Terror Team

This year has been pretty big for us. 2 new stages and music tracks, Dracula in game, some important gameplay changes, being a part of Evo's indie game showcase, and much more. Admittedly, this past month has been a bit tough on the team as we have run into some unexpected setbacks. The team has run into issues while coding that must be resolved, and most of us have all fallen ill through the month. However, we still have some exciting things to show you this month!
Coding

Rollback Progress
Our coders Brad and Matt have put some time into our current netcode. We understand that this is an important element for any fighting game, and it is still a high priority.
Without getting into the specific details, we are inching ever closer to having proper rollback implemented within the game. Currently, we have had some success with the progress yet still run into some de-synchronization within the connection. We believe we may have some solutions and we are looking to test them out soon.
Input Recording
Recently, Brad has been able to find a solution to proper input recording. This allows for recording of frames in game that can then be played back by the player. A feature similar to this has already existed within our training mode, however this new method provides much more reliable results. This could also prove useful for allowing combo trials in the future and perfect input recording for practicing against certain techniques in training mode.
Characters

The Wendigo
The Wendigo's animations are just nearly complete. With almost all attack animations and reactions complete, we believe that the animations will be completed this month. Due to our aforementioned setbacks, this task has taken longer than expected as we have missed out on several days of work.

As a result, our coders have not yet began implementing this character into the game. Upon completion of all animations, the character can begin to be integrated into the game.

We were hoping to have this character ready before the new year, but it looks like we may not be able to reach that goal unfortunately.

The team has also decided that the Wendigo will be a beastly creature, mostly consisting of screeches, shrieks, and screams. Yet, there will be some semblance of what sounds like spoken word. Is it possible there's something left of the person inside, or has the starving spirit fully taken over? Voice acting for this character has begun, and if you follow us closely, you may actually know the voice behind this monstrous giant.
Spring Heeled Jack
Spring Heeled Jack's reaction animations have begun. Work on this character is mostly limited to simple and quick animations as The Wendigo is finalized. Here are some previews of early work in progress reactions.
The Invisible Man
At this time, The Invisible Man has been rigged. No true animation progress has begun yet for this character as we focus on Wendigo and Spring Heeled Jack. Concepts for the Invisible Man's stage has begun.

One thing we can say about Invisible Man is that after completing the animations for Spring Heeled Jack, Invisible Man's animations should go much more smoothly as we have updated our animation files to only the necessary animations required per character.

Sadly, we do not have much else to share with you. Apologies for the delays in progress. We are still actively working on the project. We greatly appreciate all the support we continue to receive and we wish you all a happy holiday season. Until the new year!

Terrordrome: Reign Of The Legends Development Update, November 2022:

Some setbacks
If you have been following us on Twitter and our discord, you would know we recently suffered from a security breach. Luckily, no damage was done to the game. Unfortunately, this has thrown off our scheduling for a Halloween update. Update 18 will be coming soon. We apologize for the delay. Outside of our next update, here is what we've got going on in the background!

Coding

Unity Upgrade
Previously, our game engine ran in Unity 2021. We have updated the projects engine to improve our work flow and avoid strange glitches we were experiencing with the past engine. Players may notice slight changes to visuals, and we are expecting to see new issues arise from this. We will do our best to monitor for bugs that may occur and advise players to report any found to the discord.
Terrordrome Website
Part of the security breach affected our game website. We are currently putting time towards rebuilding our website. Along side this, our new discord server is building up again and we welcome all players to join.
Animations

Wendigo
Wendigo is in the final stages of animation. Almost all of the Wendigo's moves are complete, and mostly what is left to animate are reactions to grabs and unleashed attacks. We plan to have a testable version of the Wendigo ready sometime next month for the Patreon build.
Spring Heeled Jack
Animations for Spring Heeled Jack has begun. Specifically, reaction animations such as blocking and getting hit. It is still possible to join in the brainstorming sessions for move ideas for this character if interested!
Other News

New User Interface
As mentioned in our previous development blog, our next update will include a new user interface and main menu design. The design has called for us to step away from other aspects of the game, such as balancing, bug fixes, and new characters. New artwork is being produced for the menus, and you will be seeing these soon. We believe you will enjoy them! Once Update 18 is finalized, we can continue to integrate new content and patches.
Stages
Two new stages are currently in development,

The Realm of Agony

The Realm of Agony is a morbid creation of the White Lady, fully displaying the tormenting sorrows of her twisted mind for all to see. Death and suffering remain in view for miles upon the horizon. The Realm of Agony acts as the home stage of The White Lady.

Winter Forest

The Winter Forest is located at the abandoned remains of a once pleasant homestead to settlers in the mountain range. The inhabitants of the cabin appear to be gone, perhaps succumbing to the harsh elements of the cold, or maybe influenced by a hungry spirit haunting the woods. The Winter Forest acts as the home stage of the Wendigo.

These stages are scheduled to release along side The Wendigo.
The Invisible Man
The Invisible Man's model has been completed! Here is a preview of his model, The Invisible Man will act as the twelfth addition to the base game's roster. We can also confirm that preparation for animation has begun. The character model has been rigged and is ready to have reaction animations complete after Spring Heeled Jack.

As always, the team appreciates all who follow and play the game. We are excited to coming closer to bringing you a completed game each and every day, We hope you had a great Halloween, and we look forward to sharing more with you soon!
