Devlog: Teasing Upcoming Content Update and New Physics Progress

[h2]Upcoming: Kowloon City Arena[/h2]



With this new area we want to showcase how Hard Bullet game will look soon.

A lot of time you'll spend on these dangerous Hong Kong streets so better be prepared. Very soon you'll discover this new arena and get some taste of the upcoming fights!

Kowloon Arena with some overall game improvements and fixes will come this April.

[h2]New Physics and Player's Body Progress[/h2]


Almost finished building this new physics body.

Rewoked and built from the ground new body that adjusts to any height and totally eliminates lots of old annoying bugs:

  • No stutter when you run into a wall or any other static object.
  • Hands do not stuck in small or thin objects anymore.
  • Hands move exactly like your real hands do, no more slow hands!

New body allows us to add complex animations and realistic physics interactions like this slide I perform with my elbows and gun stock. Also expect realistic legs movements and sure we gonna use all these technologies on AI bots too!



New interaction and inventory systems. We totally reworked:
  • Stabbing and Sword wave feels natural.
  • Grabbing bodies and objects is easy.
  • Punches feel much more powerfull.
  • Distance Grab is more intelligent and presize.
New body inventory works flawelessly like never before. It's just a new level of grabbing and keeping objects in holters you need to experience yourself to truely believe it exists.


[h2]Building New Game Lobby[/h2]


Here is a work-in-progress lobby we are currently using in the DevBuild. While the room design will change, it already has some core things that you'll see in the future Hard Bullet.

Missons Map and Police Radio — placing missions and points of interest around the map brings more logic and narrative to the game. Also, we bringing back classic pointer for easier navigation!



Garage in the future your car or motorbike will play a significant role in game balance when going for a mission. Firearms in Hong Kong are prohibited so even suspended cops should keep them away from civilian eyes.



Our hero uses different vehicles to get to mission location and can store guns in the trunk. Changing cars and bikes models changes the amount of guns you can take with you.

Statistics and Achivements Every hero has his cave, so do we. In updated lobby you'll see overall story progress, achivements and binus unlocks, change music playlist from several collections.



Player Customizations — you'll be able to select different outfits that probably will affect your holsters. Still working on it.

Gun Armory will have user friendly interface and firearms are grouped according to their types for easier navigation.

Sandbox & Arena Updates: New Machine and Arenas Refreshment

Today we add new content to Sandbox and Arena locations.


[h3]New Gory Machine in Sandbox[/h3]

This is the most brutal thing we've made yet! Actually it's so brutal we think it's better not to display what it does. Maybe later, when we get back to normal... Go check yourself!


[h3]Gory Machines added to all Arenas[/h3]

Machines showed themselves quite good and are ready to be added to Arenas. Now your runs will be much more gory and new situations will happen.

  • NEW: Surface Grinder Machine.
  • ADDED: Gory Machines to all Arenas.
  • ADDED: More melee weapons to Offices and Action.
  • UPDATE: Randomized Bots at Machine Room spawn.
  • UPDATE: Longer agony on Thin Pipes and Hooks.
  • UPDATE: New design for wooden walls in Sandbox.
  • FIXED: Drill machine not piercing sometimes.
  • FIXED: Skin damage not appearing after pierced by machines or pipes.

Devlog: Showcasing progress in Player Body Rework with this Physics Room

We are working hard to bring you this large update that will dramaticaly change Hard Bullet gameplay to AAA quality.

Here is a fresh recap of the progress we've made and have some fantastic news for Patreon top tier supporters!

Meet a room where we test new physics setup. For now it's available only for $20 tier Patreons and probably will come to regular Hard Bullet in the end of this month.

Everything here is deeeeeeply Work-In-Progress and a lot to be done yet.

This is not just a player body rework we are doing here — built form the ground, these new hands and body need every other aspect of the game tuned accordingly, adding more depth to gunplay and melee weapons, punches and the way you interact with VR world.

[h3]Physical Hands and Arms[/h3]
Player will have fully physical arms and hands, check this out — this ladder can be used only with arms and elbows and no need to press any buttons on controllers.


And watch this: hands to the sides and you can casually stop yourself from falling down. Again — just pure physics:

We are testing some cool tricks with melee weapons that our new physics setup brings up!

[h3]Climbing Mechanic[/h3]
You'll be able to climb around comfortably, without annoyingly shaking body when you change hands. Our solution lets you move around without motion sickness and extreme camera movements even on the hardest surfaces:

Again, I'm not pressing any buttons and can place this long thing on my shoulder. It lays there and I can move around with it with some help from palms!

Brutal Machines Update and Sandbox Reworked



[h2]New Sandbox Design[/h2]

We want to start with words of gratefulness to all of you who shares your opinions and ideas with us, creates videos and other content — we watch every one and always listen!

Today's update makes the Sandbox more camfortable for everyone and brings more unique look.

Objects in the first room are located as if you start moving clockwise after arrival on the eleveator.

First of all you get to the office zone with basic interactions, working white board and desctructible objects.

Then you meet the Armory and Reloading switcher. As usual, you need to get closer to make the wall turn around and show all the toys.

Experimental zone will be the next, you'll find there Custom Ammo Workshop and Nailgun prototype.

Next is a large Spawn Zone — it looks like the one that was in the Melee Chamber in older version with Controls Panel on the left of it.

On the right wall we regrouped all the Melee Weapons we have for now and removed the missing ones.

[h2]Brutal Machines Showcase[/h2]
Meet the orchestra of dangerous machines from real life that you can use! We'll add some of them to Arenas during next weeks.

In the future Rougelike you'll find them along your brutal run and will be able to perform special brutal kills.

We'll keep adding new machines to this showcase and hope to get some feedback from you! We plan to change the overall Sandbox design at least once more so your ideas can become reality.

    Custom Ammo: in Shotguns now EVERY pellet (shot) gets changed to custom object. WARNING: May melt your PC!
  • Added new voices to enemies in agony, brutaly dying and getting heavy injured with spikes.
  • New impact sounds for spear-like objects.
  • New sounds when bladed weapon jumps into your hand.
  • New bullet hole effect that changes on different materials.
  • Fixed Shotgun could become unloadable because of stange sphere appeared.
  • Fixed some effects could appear in wrong places.
  • Fixed weapon could jump back to the armory/melee wall when you try to grab it.
  • Fixed Custom Ammo Mag could appear empty.
  • Fixed Custom Ammo first shot could appear on the wrong place.
  • Fixed Custom Ammo snap zones could both snap one object.
