Who's ready for another event live stream, with the most Peglin content we've ever shown off?!

Peglin v0.5.41 Patchnotes - Enemy Preview!

Heyo! We're still hard at work making content for the full game but it's definitely time for a demo update!

Big new features
  • Upcoming enemy view! No more guessing what's coming up next or if it's safe to start blasting bombs.
  • Controller Pass v2 - We still don't have everything caught up to full controller usage but we're getting closer! This fixes the issues with being unable to open the map and deck view, makes it so you can target enemies with the shoulder buttons (L1/R1 LB/RB etc), and prevents the exciting new orb from being discarded when closing the tutorial window.
  • 2x relic choice whaaaat yeah Elite battles will now award you a choice of 2 relics so you can better steer your build towards victory.


The big bugs
  • A myriad of save issues have been addressed. This feature is still experimental and there are still bugs we haven't ironed out yet, so please keep us posted as issues come up and we'll take care of them :)
  • Fire button in Treasure & Text Scenarios is no longer broken.
  • Matryoshka softlock - This is an issue where the multiballs could spawn outside of the arena and it would lock up the game. I've taken a three-pronged approach to fixing this so I'm hoping it's well and truly gone but it is a difficult one to test so please by all means let me know if you see it again after v0.5.40! (Especially if you can provide video :) )


[h2]New Content[/h2]
  • New miniboss - Yowza what could it be? There's only one way to root it out!
  • Enemies no longer have to spawn in one at a time, allowing us to pack fights a little denser and reduce the amount of fights where wasting shots and saving bombs is paramount to winning.
  • PegBag Relic: 3x refresh pegs!
  • Tactical Treat: Refresh pegs move after every turn (like the crit peg(s))
  • Monster Training: Deal 2x damage while below 25%
  • Rallying Heart: This one is uhh bittersweet because we nerfed the post-battle heal and this brings it back to what it was (although it's even better if you have one of the increased health relics!)


[h3]Smaller Improvements & Bugfixes[/h3]
  • Discarding too early caused persistent graphical issues
  • Orb Info Tooltips fixed for Text and Treasure Scenarios
  • Bramble now works on stationary enemies to allow passthrough damage
  • Dense orb upgrades are buffed to be less dense and provide additional hits
  • Super Boots no longer increase the damage that you take from misnavigation
  • Tweaked the amount of text scenarios and mystery treasure spawns.
  • General UI text layout improvements
  • Some general audio polish - Treasure and Text scenarios especially.
  • You can now click closer to the orb to fire - much more exciting aim improvements will be coming soon but this is one small step we can make to make it less painful in the meantime.
  • Magnet has been overhauled to be more useful, but has been converted into a boss relic since it is now such a run-changer.
  • Orbsium + refresh was causing some issues, those should be fixed now.
  • Pocketwatch & Spurious Necklace have been nerfed to 1/2. Goodbye my sweet summer children but you were just too powerful for now :'(
  • Dying in a text scenario is more gracefully handled now. We're looking forward to when we can grant people the Sticks & Stones achievement for doing this one though :p
  • Steam notifications getting stuck/spamming forever on certain aspect ratios. Unfortunately I don't have a setup that I can test this myself currently, but please let me know if you're still seeing this and I can test additional fixes.

When will the game be releasing?
- We are aiming for an Early Access release in October, but it depends on how quickly we can finish up the rest of the content while still working on core features and polish!

What content is expected for EA and the full release / What other features are you working on?
- Better aimer sooooon and more thoroughly we've written up a Tentative roadmap for what content & features to expect :)

gamescom Peglin Stream!

Hi everyone! Welcome to all the new faces! The response to Peglin recently has been absolutely crazy, but we're so happy to be playing the game with you all.

We'll have an update coming out sometime this week that will address a few of the most common concerns we've been hearing and will add some more content into the demo. Keep an eye here for the full patch notes when the update goes live.

In the meantime we'll be showing Peglin at gamescom, so if you're attending the event make sure to drop by our (virtual) booth and say hi! Also at gamescom will be another roguelike deckbuilder by some indie friends of ours, check out their demo and be sure to wishlist the game!
