Rice Fields of the New Camp in "Gothic 1 Remake"

The rice fields are one of the first things newcomers encounter upon entering the New Camp. Here, under the open sky and in any weather, peasants are forced into grueling labor.

Ruling over the fields is the Rice Lord, one of the camp’s founders, with his loyal "hound" Lefty keeping order and crushing any signs of disobedience. They also make sure that all of the peasants have enough water to keep working.

The rice harvest is the backbone of the camp’s economy, as it allows the production of rice schnapps, a highly-demanded product across the colony.

But dissatisfaction is brewing among the workers. Many of them are disillusioned with this way of life, and they’re ready for change.
