The Deities Update: Reality | Patch #17

Hi all,

Before I take my long break from this game, I felt like adding one more final content update for the time being. This finalises my original idea of the trio of deities. In Patch 9, I introduced the volcanic deity and his knights. In Patch 10, I introduced the frozen deity and his icicle spears. 7 major patches later, I bring you the Reality Deity, specific for the Most Wanted's new mode, Reality Shift and the residuals of Volcanic and Frozen.

[h3]New Mode: Reality Shift[/h3]
Added as a Most Wanted expansion, Reality Shift sets the stage for the final fight of the deities. The boss for it, while not too harmful, is incredibly durable and is surrounded by your typical police force. But note! It costs $7,500 to enter, with a $20,000 payout if you win.

[h3]New Boss: Reality Deity[/h3]
Featured in Reality Shift
After defeating the other deities of Mayhem, destroying countless asteroids and defying the law, you must now overcome the Reality Deity. You must destroy this to pass Reality Shift and destroy the S.E.S once and for all.

[h3]New Mini-Boss: Frozen Residual[/h3]
Featured in Reality Shift
Orbiting Reality Deity is a residual of the frozen deity. On impact, your engines will be disabled, with the only way of moving being using your boost! This deity also shoots a frozen icicle every 25 seconds so prioritise killing this one off before anything else.

Featured in Reality Shift
Orbiting Reality Deity is a residual of the volcanic deity. On impact, you will lose a significant 2 lives, so be warned!

Development Break

Hi all,

I appreciate the ongoing support from a few of you that have encouraged me to keep on updating Rocky Mayhem. As a thank you, I've released 6 more achievements to give you more to do whenever you have the time. To anyone else, thank you for coming to see the Rocky Mayhem page.

This post does not mean I am permanently moving on from Rocky Mayhem. There's still a lot I'd like to do development wise, but there's just no traction that I don't feel motivated enough to spend hours pushing out content to no one. If the game ever picks up a few more reviews or players, I'll return but for now the game will be left alone for a while.

In the meantime, I am currently making a 3D horror game which, unlike Rocky Mayhem, I'll give a lot of time in the oven and use everything I've learnt with my experience of RM to improve the experience of the next. Again, Rocky Mayhem will not be forever left alone. Maybe every few months I'll come back for a little update!

Patch 16.52 - Boss Improvements

Hi all,

Minor update here, which brings an improved experimental stage to the boss fights which more information is shown below.

[h3]Boss Fights: Mini-Stage[/h3]
Ever wondered why the frozen deity had a little line in the health bar? It's because I always had the idea of the boss fight getting a bit harder for the final push against it but never implemented it. With this update, both bosses now have this line and they both have a purpose! When the Volcanic reaches this line, it gains a speed boost of 50% meaning you'll need to utilise your plasma field. When the Frozen reaches this line, it gains a firing boost of 30% while also getting a movement debuff, so you'll need to evade bullets even better.

  • Disabled Collision SFX on Rescue Operations
  • Increased asteroid spawn rate across all levels
  • Volcanic Deity now moves 50% faster when hitting 30HP
  • Frozen Deity now fires 30% faster when hitting 30HP
  • Frozen Deity base fire-rate decreased by 10%
  • Frozen Deity speed decreased by 10%
  • Increased clicks needed to heal (2 -> 4)
  • Decreased Health Pickup spawn rate by 50% for Normal
  • Decreased Health Pickup Hitbox
  • You can now press Enter in Rescue Operations at any time to restart
  • Fixed pressing enter in Red Light Green Light not restarting level


Regarding a Crashing bug

Thanks to one of the players, Shep7000, it has come to my attention the game is crashing itself and Steam at around 1-3 hours of consistent playtime. I'd like to let you all know that I am actively investigating the issue right now and will hopefully find the cause of it. If you would like to participate in debugging, please keep an eye on your system usage through task manager and if you notice any spikes at the time of a crash, to make a comment below. I'll get to it as soon as I can.
