Recent updates to Against the Storm introduce fresh world events, revamped mechanics, and improvements to Cornerstones. You can find the complete list of changes in our massive patch notes list at the bottom of this post.

Here’s a roundup of what’s new:

New World Events
• The First Elder: A mysterious visitor offers a choice—either safeguard the forest or prepare for catastrophe. Success grants a feline companion for three games, enhancing villager Resolve and crit chance.
 • The Blight-Ridden Viceroy: A challenging scenario with decisions that influence your rewards and outcomes.
 • Ghost Town: Unravel the secrets of an abandoned settlement and steer its future.

Revamped World Events
Several events have been overhauled to provide fairer challenges and clearer mechanics:

 • Somber Procession now features the Funeral Feast, a three-step event replacing Reserve Embarkation Point trades. Completing it unlocks the Feast Hall for three games.
 • Events requiring goods now demand upfront contributions, giving players better control and visibility over their progress.
 • Forsaken Town has been fine-tuned for a more balanced experience, including the removal of its initial Storm phase.

Cornerstone Revisions
• Selection now aligns more closely with available resources and colony needs, offering better synergy during runs.
 • Underperforming perks have been reworked, while others have been refined or replaced for improved variety.
