This week’s update continues the Summer Sweep Up, bringing long-awaited improvements to Slayer and Skilling.

Changelog August 27th

[expand]

Summer Sweep Up Slayer Changes
• Slayer point unlocks have been rebalanced! Slug Salter (80→10), Reptile Freezer (90→10), Ring Bling (300→150), Bigger and Badder (150→50).
• Any previously purchased unlocks will be refunded automatically on login.
• Each Slayer master now has their own individual block list for tasks.
• Blocking a task prevents that specific master from assigning it again, without affecting other Slayer masters.
• You'll get a warning if you attempt to block a task that the selected Slayer master does not assign.
• Points for previously blocked tasks are automatically refunded upon login.
• Shared block lists only apply to Turael, Aya and Spria; all other masters have unique block lists.
• The cost of blocking a Slayer task varies by each master: Turael, Aya and Spria→40 pts, Mazchna/Achtryn→50, Vannaka→60, Chaeldar→70, Konar→80, Nieve/Steve→90, Duradel/Kuradal→100, Krystilia→100.
• Bronze, Iron, Steel, Mithril, Adamant, and Runite dragon tasks are now combined into a single "Metal Dragons" Slayer task, with updated quantities and extensions.
• The number of Kill requirements for tasks now starts low (between 30-50 dragons) but can be extended up to 150-200.
• Any existing unlocks or extensions for old metal dragons are refunded on login, and your current task will automatically convert to the new Metal Dragons task.
• Adjusted the drop rates for Lunar Keys from various PVM encounters in the Twilight Temple dungeon to make obtaining them feel fairer across all combat levels (See main body text for details).
• The Rune Pouch can now be purchased from the Mage Training Arena for 150 Telekinetic, 150 Graveyard, 1500 Enchantment, and 200 Alchemist points.
• You can only buy one if you don’t already own a Rune Pouch.

• Lowered the cost of the Task Storage from slayer rewards from 1000 points → 500. For purchases made previously, 500 points will be refunded upon login.
• You can now use Slayer Task Storage for Wilderness Slayer tasks.
• The Granite hammer now has a 30% Golembane effect, dealing 30% extra damage and accuracy against all golem-type creatures. This includes Gargoyles and covers all phases of the Grotesque Guardians.
• Selected Slayer creatures that previously dropped 1-2 noted herbs now drop unnoted herbs, allowing for the herb sack to be utilised more effectively.
• Helmet of the Moon has been added to the Collection Log and will retroactively unlock for all eligible accounts.
• Mark of Darkness now lasts 3 minutes by default.
• Low-level Slayer master points have been buffed! Mazchna now awards 6 points per task (up from 2) and Vannaka 8 points (up from 4).
• Milestone multipliers have also been updated to give slightly more points, without surpassing their higher-level masters; Mazchna: 10th task 30 pts, 50th 90 pts; Vannaka: 10th task 40 pts, 50th 120 pts.
Permanent Deadman Changes
• Added Hespori, Golden Tench, Royal Titans, and Yama uniques to the drop rate multiplier.
• Unskulled players can now obtain Ancient Crystals from Revenants.
• 1 Defence accounts can now complete King’s Ransom. A black Wizard Hat, black Priest Gown and black Priest Robe can be worn to bypass the knights in the Black Knights Fortress.
• Deadman-specific items no longer appear on the main game Grand Exchange.
• The following changes apply to both Permanent & Tournament Deadman:
• Black and Green Dragons in the Wilderness now always drop double dragon bones.
• Guarded areas are now properly defended, with wizards freezing skulled intruders for brief periods of time.
• Scroll Cases can now be obtained.
• Araxxor now awards Slayer XP on task.
Other Changes
• Slightly lowered the required contribution to receive 100% loot from the Royal Titans. Using other types of damage, such as poison or thralls, should no longer affect obtaining 100% loot quantities.
• The Agility requirement for the Castle Draken shortcut has been raised to 86, following player feedback that the previous level was set too low for the benefit offered with this master clue step.
• You can now add potions to existing stacks in Potion Storage even if your bank is full.
• Baby blue dragons in the Ruins of Tapoyauik now drop the baby dragon bone required for the Rag and Bone Man II Quest.
• The Arkan blade’s special attack animation now matches between PvP and PvM.
• The 'Guide' option on farming patches now opens the correct section of the Farming skill guide.
• Recent bosses such as Amoxliatl, Araxxor, Whisperer, Leviathan, Vardorvis and others now contribute to the total Boss Kill Count in the Combat Achievements interface.
• Dragon and Zamorak spear special attacks in Castle Wars now use their original shove mechanics, with chain-spearing disabled and no added freeze immunity outside the shove.
• Bandages no longer overheal in games of Castlewars on Non-Castlewars themed worlds.
• Updated bank action code. Now the "custom" menu entry that is enabled with the auto-charging setting now shows an additional menu, rather than swapping out an existing one.
• Fixed a bug where Ent Trunks could continue attacking after their Wilderness Ent was killed with a Twinflame Staff.
• Fixed a bug where Challenge Mode Chambers raid layouts could be rerolled by switching leaders or relogging.
• Hueycoatl private instances now properly adjust for player counts when participants leave, preventing full instances that would require everyone to leave and start a new instance to continue.
• Regent pouch Fixes:
• With the bank interface open, the pouch will now automatically show either a "Fill" or "Empty" option depending on your inventory. If you have ingredients that can be stored, it shows "Fill"; if there’s nothing to store, it shows "Empty". This change has also been applied to the Plank Sack.
• The pouch now works correctly when making potions at bank chests or other non-standard banks (e.g. Emerald Benedict). Note, you must be standing within a 1 tile radius of the bank to see this effect; step away or close the pouch, and normal rules resume.
• Secondary ingredients are now correctly handled when making Weapon Poison (+) and Weapon Poison (++). Previously, potion-making would stop if your inventory ran out of secondary ingredients, even if more were available inside the pouch. Ingredients inside the pouch are now used automatically.
• Fixed the slayer master tips on fighting Kree'arra.
• Tweaked the examine on the Fossil Island zipline.
• Tidied up some misaligned curtains in Player-Owned Houses to better fit the new Canifis and Civitas wall kits.
• "The 'Fill' and 'Check' options on a filled Bottomless Compost Bucket have now been separated, like they are on the empty version. This should make it a little more convenient to use.

Summer Sweep Up Slayer Changes

Summer Sweep Up is here, bringing a wave of skilling and Slayer updates - let’s delve into everything we’ve been tinkering with!
Blocklists: Your Tasks, Your Rules
Ever wanted to tell a Slayer master, "Not today, sir!"? Well, now you can! Each Slayer master now has their own individual block list, putting the power in your hands to avoid those pesky, annoying tasks when you're just not feeling it.

If you can’t see the image above, click here!

• Blocking a task from one Slayer master stops that master from giving it to you again - but other masters are still fair game.
• Attempting to block a task that the Slayer master doesn’t assign will get you a polite little warning, instead of wasted points.
• All your previously blocked tasks? Points are refunded automatically when you log in.
• Sharing is caring, but only for Turael, Aya, and Spria. Everyone else gets their own unique lists and block prices:
• Turael/Aya and Spria: 40 points
• Mazchna/Achtryn: 50 points
• Vannaka: 60 points
• Chaeldar: 70 points
• Konar: 80 points
• Nieve/Steve: 90 points
• Duradel/Kuradal: 100 points
• Krystilia: 100 points
• Use the "View List" option on the Slayer Rewards task tab to see the full set of creatures each Slayer Master can assign. Every Master has their own unique list, and from here you can block tasks at the costs listed above.
• Green tick - tasks available to block.
• Red circle - tasks you’ve already blocked.
• Yellow padlock - tasks this Slayer Master cannot assign.
• Green padlock - your current task (you therefore cannot get it as a new task, but it's still available to block).
Alloyed Adventures with Metal Dragons
Dragon Slayer grind, streamlined! Bronze, Iron, Steel, Mithril, Adamant, and Runite dragons have been unified under a single "Metal Dragons" task.
• One task to rule them all! Any metal dragon you kill counts toward this task, making it simpler and more flexible.
• Tasks now start low (between 30-50 dragons) but can be extended all the way up to 150-200.
• Any existing unlocks or extensions for old metal dragons are refunded on login, and your current task will automatically convert to the new Metal Dragons task.

Simpler, flexible, and still plenty of dragons to slay. Now go forth and smite those metallic foes!
Slayer Unlocks Get a Point Makeover
Ever feel like your Slayer points were vanishing faster than your HP at a Vardorvis rampage? We’ve gone through all the Slayer unlocks and given them a little love. Some of the more basic unlocks were costing way more points than they were worth, so we’ve rebalanced them to make your points go further.
• Slug Salter - reduced from 80 points → 10 points
• Reptile Freezer - reduced from 90 points → 10 points
• Ring Bling - reduced from 300 points → 150 points
• Bigger and Badder - reduced from 150 points → 50 points

If you’ve already unlocked any of these, don’t worry! You’ll get the appropriate points refunded automatically when you log in, with a nice little message telling you exactly how many points you’ve got back.
Lunar Key Drop Rates Updated
We’ve adjusted the drop rates for Lunar Keys from various PVM encounters in the Twilight Temple dungeon to make obtaining them feel fairer across different combat levels.
• Frost Nagua: 1/1052
• Ice Giant: 1/2190
• Ice Spider: 1/2036
• Chilled Jelly: 1/961
• Brutal Blue Dragon: 1/250
• Blue Dragon: 1/1216
• Baby Blue Dragon: 1/2290
• Ice Warrior: 1/2112
• Icefiend: 1/3058
• Frost Crab: 1/3011
• Cave Crawler: 1/2260
• Amoxliatl: 1/150
• The Hueycoatl: 1/75

We hope these changes improve the lower-end combat scaling, while keeping high-levels challenging and rewarding.
Miscellaneous & More Slayer Updates

More Doom Tweaks, Poll 84, & Summer Sweep Up Changes | August 20th

This week’s update brings more Doom boss adjustments, Summer Sweep Up Combat changes, and a bundle of Poll 84 improvements to enhance your adventuring.

Changelog August 20th

[expand]

Delve Boss Changes
• The burrow hole will no longer sparkle when a player receives a duplicate pet drop.
• Fixed a bug where the Delve boss’s diagonal burrow attack could hit players outside its visible path.
• Fixed a bug where rocks placed on acid would disappear when the boss entered its burrow phase.
• Fixed a bug where players could get stuck in walls when the burrow hole spawned in a corner.
• Projectile attacks immediately following a melee punish will now account for boulder impacts, ensuring that if two projectiles land on the player on the same tick, they will always be of the same damage type. Players can pray to block the damage, but missing the Prayer will result in the full impact of both attacks.
• If a projectile is travelling towards the boss as it swaps to shield phase, the damage will now still apply to the shield.
Summer Sweep Up (Combat)
• The Kill Count in the Deranged Archaeologist's Collection Log is now white. We apologise for any distress that this erroneous orange text caused.
• Fixed a bug where the Herb Box incorrectly stated 10 herbs were inside when it should have been seven.
• Fixed missing elemental weaknesses for various NPCs:
• Added 40% Water weakness to Nibblers and Inferno Bats.
• Added 50% Fire weakness to Giant Scarab (Contact!) and NMZ variant.
• Added 25% Fire weakness to Jungle Demon (Monkey Madness).
• Added 35% Earth weakness to the Skeletal Hellhound (In Search of the Myreque).
• Added Demonbane weakness to the following Nightmare Zone monsters: Bouncer, Jungle Demon, and Skeletal Hellhound.
• Dying to the regular Nightmare now respawns you near the boss, next to Shura, instead of at your default respawn point. This mirrors the change we made to Phosani's Nightmare.
• You can now use the Volatile Nightmare Staff’s Special Attack in Deadman without an auto-cast set.
• Purple drop rates in Tombs of Amascut now scale and interpolate between Raid Level invocations. Instead of only adjusting at 50-level intervals (350, 400, 450, 500), reward weightings are now adjusted every 5 Levels. This allows gradual increases in drop chances without requiring large jumps in difficulty.
Poll 84
• Hunter traps will now stack in the Inventory.
• Improved various Hunting spots by adding more trap locations and rotating existing ones for a more efficient hunt.
• Updated the list of quest items that can be cleared from your Bank by the Wise Old Man.
• Added a one-way Level 74 Agility zipline shortcut on Fossil Island from the tower to the small island. Just don't be too rough on the ropes.
• With level 69 Agility, you can now jump over some of the rocks found on top of the walls of Darkmeyer to access the Castle Drakan master clue step there. These rocks are accessible by climbing the Darkmeyer wall shortcut and running north-west.
• You can also right-click the inconspicuous rocks/S.T.A.S.H units to jump back, should you need to! However, you cannot use that shortcut without completing Sins of the Father, and without first unlocking the Darkmeyer wall shortcut with a long rope.
• Added two new Agility shortcuts to the Slayer Tower. One level 18 shortcut east of the entrance to reach Banshees, and one level 81 shortcut west of the entrance for quick access to the top floor.
• Some of the settings in the settings menu are now filtered based on an account type. Additionally, there is now a button on the Settings title bar that allows you to show or hide settings you don't yet have the requirements for, which should make it easier to find the ones you care about!
• The modify button on the GE Offer status page has been changed from a right-click on the abort button to a button of its own.
• Added Grand Exchange set boxes for newer armour, including Blood Moon, Blue Moon, Eclipse Moon, Oathplate, Torva, Virtus, Dagannoth (melee/mage/range), Swampbark, Bloodbark, Mixed Hide, and Hueycoatl sets.
Other Changes
• Standardised the button order (Bin left, Bank and Inventory right) for the Lunar chest, ToB chest, ToA chest, Colosseum, Trawler, and Wilderness and Deadman loot chests and keys.
• All tradeable Yama items can now be added to Death's coffer.
• Improved the dialogue for reclaiming the Ghostly Robes. After choosing a piece from the set, the selection menu now reopens automatically (if you have Inventory space) so you can claim multiple pieces without repeating the dialogue.
• You can now disable the confirmation warning when clearing bushes or cacti farming spots. This can be done directly from the warning prompt using the 'Don’t ask me again' option, or via Settings → Warnings → Confirmations.
• Added rowing and idle animations to the Tal Teklan boat harvesters outside Kastori.
• Updated the Wilderness loot key interface to match the Deadman mode style.
• Fixed an issue where certain tradeable items could incorrectly fill Collection Log slots if sold and repurchased from a general store - slots will now only register when obtained from the correct source.
• Fixed numerous terrain and object clipping issues with the new renderer beta, including trapdoors, cave entrances, stairs, rugs, crates, and wallkits, plus visual fixes in Brimhaven Agility Arena.
• Duke Sucellus no longer remains poisoned from one fight to the next.
• Re-designed the Item Sets interface to let players toggle between viewing all sets or only those craftable with items currently in their Inventory.
• Fixed a bug with the Player-Owned House viewer on the official client and mobile. In some cases, certain features such as topiary bushes or other hotspots with editable 'states' (i.e., portals or boss lairs), would cause the viewer to crash or behave unexpectedly.
• Icthlarin's Hood now correctly displays your character’s skin colour.
PvP Rota

The PvP rota has moved to Period A:
• 539 - (US) - PvP World
• 318 - (UK) - Bounty Hunter World
• 548 - (Germany) - High-Risk PvP World
• 577 - (US) - Free-to-Play PvP World
• 559 - (UK) - LMS Competitive

World 390 (AUS) for LMS Competitive has been activated with this rota.

World 569 (AUS) for Bounty Hunter has been activated with this rota.

The PvP Arena is using 'Zerker' loadouts in Ranked Duels and Tournaments this week.

Delve Boss Changes

We’re back with more fixes and changes for the Delve boss!
• If a projectile is travelling towards the boss as it swaps to shield phase, the damage will now still apply to the shield.
Adjusting Early Melee Punish Damage
Last week, we explained that we’d be keeping the interaction where an early melee punish could result in two unavoidable hits from Doom. Our aim was to keep the encounter challenging and reward precise timing; however, it’s clear from your feedback that this approach didn't hit the mark. Many of you felt it was punishing players for being fast, rather than rewarding skill.

After reviewing the mechanic in more detail, we agreed that this needed to change. Now, projectile attacks immediately following a melee punish will account for boulder impacts, ensuring that if two projectiles land on the same tick, they will always be of the same damage type. This means the damage can be avoided with the right Prayer, though missing it will result in the full force of both hits. We believe this change maintains the fight's challenge, while ensuring incoming damage is more readable, avoidable, and no longer punishes quick reactions.

We want to thank you for holding us to a higher standard here - your feedback has helped us strike a better balance between maintaining difficulty and keeping the mechanic fair.
Slayer Tower Shortcuts: Top Floor Level Requirement Change
Some of you eagle-eyed adventurers may notice that the Agility requirement for the top-floor Slayer Tower shortcut isn’t quite what we first teased in the original blog.

After hearing your feedback, we realised this shortcut is a pretty serious timesaver, so we’ve nudged the requirement up to 81 Agility - hopefully a little something to reward those who’ve put in the elbow grease. Our initial suggestion was outright better than the chain shortcut used to take you from the first floor to the second floor, despite having a lower Agility requirement, which was an oversight on our part and didn't really make much sense.

We understand this adjustment might be frustrating for some players who expected lower requirements, and we truly appreciate your understanding. Our aim is to make these shortcuts feel like a satisfying reward for skill and effort, while still easing that Slayer grind a bit.

Now go forth, climb, and skip those stairs like the parkour pro you are!
Banking Consistently
We’ve been tidying up the way your banking and item retrieval interfaces work! Previously, some interfaces would shuffle the deposit buttons around, which could lead to unfortunate accidents.

To make things more predictable, we’ve standardised the order of buttons across banking, loot, and item retrieval interfaces:
• Bin on the left → Bank and Inventory on the right

If you can’t see the image above, click here!

This affects a wide range of interfaces, including:
• Lunar Chest
• Theatre of Blood Chest
• Tombs of Amascut Chest
• Colosseum Chest
• Fishing Trawler
• Wilderness and Deadman Loot Keys

We hope these changes will make your inventory management that bit more intuitive, and thanks for all the feedback that helped us standardise these interfaces - may your clicks be precise and your Banks full of loot!
Bank QoL Changes: Coming a Bit Later
Just a quick heads-up - two planned Poll 84 changes will be arriving a little later than the rest.
• The Looting Bag deposit button upgrade, which will let you empty a bunch of different containers straight into your Bank.
• A new Empty option for the Shades of Mort'ton coffin while you’ve got it in your Inventory at the Bank.

These two are linked under the hood, and the Bank interface is a bit more complicated than it can look, so we’ve decided to take more time to get these changes right before pushing them live. Don’t worry - they haven’t been forgotten, and we’ll keep you posted.

Best Old School Runescape settings for PC

If you're just starting out in Gielinor for the first time, or a returning player coming back after yet another hiatus (it happens to us all), finding the best Old School Runescape settings can be quite tricky, especially with multiple launchers and a wealth of plug-ins to choose from. We're going to focus on the ideal setup for anyone looking to make OSRS look the best it ever has in the RuneLite launcher.

You're never going to need one of the best graphics card picks from our buying guide to run a game like Old School Runescape, but it can still be quite tricky to find the right settings to use. This is because there is no one right way to play the game, but we've found a few ways to improve the graphical quality of the game without sacrificing performance.

POH Recode & More | August 13th

This week’s update features a full behind-the-scenes rewrite of the Player-Owned House system, alongside a handful of tweaks and fixes.

Changelog - August 13th

[expand]

Player-Owned-House Recode
• Completely rewrote the Player-Owned House code. Everything should work the same, but please let us know if your furniture starts to haunt you.
Delve Boss Updates and What We're Watching
• Further altered the shape of the Ranged projectile to ensure it appears noticeably different to Melee.
• Fixed a bug where valuable loot drops received from the Doom of Mokhaiotl did not broadcast to the clan chat. Note: We are aware this is also affecting the Colosseum, and we’re planning to fix it soon too.
• A large number of hotfixes were deployed last week. For the full list, please see the table here.
• We've also addressed several points raised by players in the blog section below.
Client and Mobile Updates
• Fixed a bug where, when the XP tracker in the popout panel was closed, it would duplicate the last XP tracker in the list and create a 'ghost' tracker.
• Fixed an issue on mobile where tapping near the side panel buttons could accidentally interact with the game beneath the UI.
• Re-added the limit framerate option to the mobile side panel display settings.
• Players in the new Renderer Beta will see improved visuals across multiple areas, with fixes for flickering, terrain clipping, and geometry issues in Lumbridge, Lumbridge Swamp, Player-Owned Houses, the Wizard’s Tower, and a bridge in Prifddinas.
• Fixed a visual issue where the Amulet of Glory and similar amulets were missing their inner gem detail when using the new renderer beta.
Other Changes
• Added a new category to the 'Report Abuse' menu: 'PvP Cheating'. This may be used when you suspect someone of cheating in PvP, including through the use of macroing software.
• Removing Raging Echoes curtains now correctly clears both the curtains and the wall decoration, without needing to reload your house.
• Added a missing bass instrument to the Kastori music track.
• Dimintheis and his sons can now give spare copies of their gauntlets more conveniently, if you have earned them, and Dimintheis now properly explains why he won't give you anything if you're ineligible.
• Re-added a missing unsent letter to a house on the Sunset Coast.
• Adjusted the GE buy limit of early League canes to that of other canes.
• One version of the Fremennik helmet now has an improved model with horns that connect to the helmet.

PoH Under Construction

If you can’t see the image above, click here!

While this week’s update may appear light, it actually includes a major behind-the-scenes rewrite of the entire Player-Owned House (PoH) system.

Ideally, you won’t notice a thing; your humble abode should work just as it always has. But under the hood, we've done some pretty heavy-duty rewiring of our beloved spaghetti code. As with any large renovation project, there's always the chance of finding some bugs in the walls.

'So why take the risk?' we hear you ask. Well, the old PoH code was ancient, creaky, and held together by developer prayers and duct tape. By modernising it, we’ve made it much easier to maintain and expand on in the future - so your dreams of a fully customisable, lava-moated, gilded, flying dungeon dragon house aren't quite as far-fetched anymore.

We’ve put this update through plenty of testing but given the scale of the changes, there’s always the possibility of the odd spooky surprise - ghost chairs, vanishing walls, portals to the void. You know, the usual snags. If you spot anything strange, please let us know!

There’s still a lot more work ahead of us, but this is a big step in that direction, and we appreciate your patience and support as we build the foundations for the homes of the future.

Delve Boss Updates and What We're Watching

Last week we delivered several hotfixes to the Delve boss, which you can find in the table here. This week’s update includes a couple more touch-ups:
• Further altered the shape of the Ranged projectile to ensure it appears noticeably different to Melee.
• Fixed a bug where valuable loot drops received from the Doom of Mokhaiotl did not broadcast to the clan chat.
Addressing Your Feedback
We also want to take a moment to acknowledge some of the more common bits of feedback we've seen floating around. While these aren’t things we’re immediately changing, we hear you, and we want to be as clear as possible about where we’re currently at with each one:
Attack speed delay on Volatile Earth
• We’ve seen some concerns around the slower feel when attacking Volatile Earth, and we just want to clarify that this one’s working as intended. The 1-tick delay you’re used to seeing only applies when using Demonbane weapons on demons, and Volatile Earth doesn’t fall into that category.
Large grub damage confusion
• The phrase "triple-punishing damage" caused a bit of confusion - and understandably so! To clarify: the damage is meant to punish the player. The grub does not deal triple damage to the boss. We’ve updated the blog to reflect this more clearly. Apologies for the confusion!
Rapid or Unexpected Phase Changes (Melee Punish → Blue Shield)
• This one should now be resolved! Doom’s transition to shielded phase is now triggered by an attack timer instead of on-hit. To avoid instant phase transitions, Doom will also wait for two attacks after the last orb phase before triggering the shield.

What this means in practice:
• Hitting 75% HP no longer causes an immediate shield swap - instead, Doom will complete his current attack before making the change.
• After the Volatile Earth special attack finishes, Doom will always perform two attacks before entering the shield phase.
• This prevents rare cases where mechanics like grub explosions or midair arrows could skip the punish window and send him straight into shield phase.

For most players, this should be a welcome quality-of-life change, making the flow of the fight more predictable, and fairer. However, we do acknowledge that a small group of high-end Delvers may find it harder to use late-fight stalling to force a second Volatile Earth special, as this will now require going through an additional shield phase. We’ll keep an eye on this feedback and see if there’s a way to support that playstyle without reintroducing the old issues.
Unavoidable damage from early Melee punish
• Triggering the Melee punish at the wrong tick on higher Delve levels can sometimes result in two overlapping hits from Doom. While we know this can feel punishing, we're keeping this one as it is for now - the aim being to reward precise timing and good preparation.
Eye of Ayak vs. Doom’s Beam Charge
• With the latest update, the Eye of Ayak now acts similarly to a Demonbane weapon when dealing with mage grubs, and we understand why some of you feel it should work the same way against Doom’s beam charge for consistency. After reviewing this, we’ve decided not to extend that interaction. While the Eye can help clear grubs more fluidly, using it to interrupt the beam would allow Doom’s shield to be drained far too quickly. Since the encounter already requires a Scorching Bow (providing a reliable ranged interrupt), we want to preserve the intended pacing and challenge of the fight.

We’re generally happy with the challenge level of the encounter at the moment, so we’re taking a cautious approach to any further tweaks. However, there are still a few bugs we're investigating, and rest assured, we’re watching your feedback closely, reviewing gameplay data, and monitoring for any emerging issues. Your feedback has been incredibly helpful so far, and we’re grateful for your continued support (and patience!) as we continue to refine the experience.

Sailing Stress Test

The Sailing Stress test will begin on Thursday, August 14th!

A single beta world will be accessible to players for 15 minutes at a time, four times over the course of one day. The exact times are: 15:00 BST, 15:30 BST, 16:00 BST and 16:30 BST.

We want as many players as possible to test our system to its absolute capacity so please do hop in if you’ve got time! When the test begins, we'll announce it via an in-game broadcast. There are no sign-ups or requirements – anyone can help out.

Although this test isn’t focused on Sailing content, it’s still really important for the skill. We’ve already run a few internal stress tests - but now it's time to see how worlds fare in a live environment.

During the stress test you’ll get to play a short minigame and (hopefully) meet some fellow sailors, including a few J-Mods! Once it's over, feel free to get back to your grind.

Heads up! Originally the in-game poll stated that the poll would close on the 15th, however it was always meant to be the 14th, this has been changed now. Apologies for the miscommunication - go vote if you haven't already!

Delve Boss Changes

We’ve been having a ball watching you dive into Delve, push its limits, and share your feedback. There’s been a lot of great discussion over the past week, and it’s helped shape some of the improvements you’ll see today. That includes tweaks to the melee punish phase, adjustments to grub behaviour, better clarity during certain mechanics, and a range of smaller fixes that should make the overall experience feel a bit tidier.

We know last week’s changelog felt a little light for some, especially following such a big launch. Much of what we focused on early was under the hood - important stuff, just not the kind that grabs attention in a blog post. This week’s update builds on that foundation, and we think the changes will be a lot more noticeable.

However, we’re being mindful about how much we change and how quickly. The Doom of Mokhaiotl is designed to be a tough, endgame-level boss, and we’re happy with the overall level of challenge it offers. Our goal is to refine the encounter without losing what makes it demanding and rewarding.

There are still a few areas we’re actively discussing, and just because something didn’t make it in this week doesn’t mean it’s off the radar. We’ll keep reviewing how things are playing out and continue listening as more of you take on the fight.

Here’s what’s new this week:
• The melee punish phase now ignores attack delay if the player is using melee.
• Added a sparkly glow to the burrow hole when a unique item is present.
• Replaced triple grub spawns with a single giant grub that has double the health, explodes in a larger area, and causes triple the punishment if it reaches the boss.
• Rockfalls no longer place a permanent rock on your position if you are hit by it while under the protection of the shield orb.
• The centre tile of the shield orb now clears acid as it moves.

• Made the charged attack particles smaller to reduce the chance of misclicks.
• Improved the Doom’s clickbox to prevent players accidentally clicking through the boss.
• The Holy Water item now correctly one-shots range larva spawns during the fight.
• The Holy Water effect triggered upon killing the boss can now be activated by the bonus damage dealt from the melee punish, not just the primary damage splat.

• Cannons can no longer be placed in any Delve level.
• Added Elite clue scrolls to the loot table, with a drop rate of 1/75 for waves 1-2 and 1/50 for later waves.
Varlamore Changes:

While the Doom rages below, things have been ticking along nicely back on the surface. Here are a few more Varlamore updates:
• Vale Totems now correctly count toward the total minigame items in the Collection Log overview instead of the Other total.
• The Proudspire Agility shortcuts now show up correctly in Agility level-up messages.
• Using the Eye of Ayak's special attack no longer causes the clickbox to change.

• Adjusted the reclaim cost and PvP drop of the Arkan Blade from 75,000 to 250,000 GP to more accurately account for its power.

What this means:
• You won’t get any uniques on Level 1.
• Starting at Level 2, you have a small chance to get the Mokhiatl Cloth used to make the Confliction Gauntlets.
• At Level 3, you get a chance at the Eye of Ayak.
• At level 4, you have a chance to get the Avernic Treads.
• As you progress, your chances improve for all three uniques.
• From Level 8 onwards, all three uniques drop at the best drop rate.

Keep pushing deeper to increase your chances of scoring these powerful items!

Summer Sweep Up Combat

This week’s batch includes a tidy mix of long-standing requests, stat touch-ups, and some PvM behaviour that’s finally been told to behave. Whether it’s smarter Zebak waves, fewer surprise tornadoes, or halberds finally doing what halberds should do, there’s a little something here for everyone.
• There is now a warning message when depositing Inventory or worn equipment in the deposit pot in TOA.
• The Wardens’ skull bombs can no longer land underneath the Obelisk.
• Further refined Zebak's waves to stop the player from getting pushed closer to Zebak while attacking.
• Duke mushrooms and salts now stack properly if your Inventory is full and you have one held.
• The Accursed Sceptre (a) can now correctly use its special attack without setting an autocast.
• Combat stat adjustments:
• Dragons’ Stab defence lowered to 0, from 5.
• TzHaar are now correctly 40% weak to Water spells.
• The Giant Mole is now 50% weak to Earth instead of Water.
• Fixed a graphical issue where the Crondis crocodiles would sporadically turn towards the player when pathing to the tree.
• Reduced the number of tornadoes spawned by the Blue Moon as our last change didn’t have a significant impact - let us know how this feels!
• Halberds can now do damage to Vespula when flying.
• Decreased Ironman's minimum damage threshold from 10% to 7% for group Wilderness bosses.
• There is now a quick leave option while fighting Bryophyta and Obor.

Not even the afterlife could keep Nieve from her Youtooz debut! Standing at 4.8 inches tall with long blonde hair, she holds her iconic Zamorakian Hasta in her right hand and a translucent Elysian Spirit Shield in the other. Her outfit is completed with a Fire Cape hanging from her shoulders and an Amulet of Fury around her neck along with full Bandos Armour.

Who got the King Black Dragon fired up?

The King Black Dragon may be bored after thousands of years of battles but we’ve managed to pique his interest with a Youtooz debut! At 4.1 inches tall his bright red eyes shine out from above his three toothy, horned heads. A pair of jagged wings curl out from his shoulders as a long thick tail wraps around his back and clawed feet. Scary stuff!
