Hexarchy 1.1.959 - Balance Update

[h3]Balance Changes[/h3]
  • Selling a specific resource type (eg Whale, Gems, Cows, Stone) will now give 1 less gold each time you sell it during the same turn
  • City gold maintenance calculation adjustments - overall should be higher, especially for small cities
  • City gold maintenance reduced on Easy and Normal difficulties
  • Chance of getting We Love You effects increases more with city population size
  • Resource market price calculation adjustments
  • Hut and Harbor random resources no longer favor Food and Luxury
  • Harbor immediate free resources increase with population size
  • Harbor gold production decreased to 1
  • Harbor cost increased to 3 hammers
  • Harbor enables water routes for city maintenance
  • Jeweler gold production increased to 2
  • Pasture adds 1 gold yield to hex
  • Mine adds 1 gold yield to hex
  • Russia city food yield bonus changed to 1 + population/3
  • Workshop gold yield added to hex increased to 3
  • Temple now also gives 1 gold per Holy Site you control
  • Courthouse culture production increased to 2
  • Fishing Hut food yield bonus increased to 2
  • Monument now effects allied cities
  • Satrap cannot capture a Holy Site with a Settler next to it
  • In multiplayer, only military units can capture Holy Sites if an enemy settler is adjacent to it
  • City build, Satrap, and Holy Site captures will no longer take hexes occupied by an enemy unit
  • Hammers always higher priority than gold for auto worker assignment

  • Improved Steam Deck / Controller support
  • Added a visual indicator for a city when it has Unrest
  • Challenge objectives will no longer require you to control more than 4 Holy Sites (after this week)


[h3]Bug Fixes[/h3]
  • Fixed an issue with Arc de Triomph that could cause the number of points it grants to decrease
  • Fixed issue where order or yield resources would change when refreshing
  • Fixed an issue that could cause "disconnects" in single-player if your device went to sleep for a long period of time
  • Fixed an error that occur when building a Legionnaire
  • Fixed an issue where units would briefly show the wrong strength value
  • Fixed an issue where enemy controlled hexes could show as unattached from the rest of their territory
  • Fixed glitches in the shadows from several civilization specific units

[h3]Fixes[/h3]
  • Fixed issue where arrow keys would navigate UI elements and pan camera when in mouse and keyboard mode
  • Note: This fix means the controller DPAD no longer switches the game into controller mode. You must press a controller button such as B to activate controller mode.

[h3]Misc[/h3]
  • The TAB keyboard key will now switch the game from controller to mouse and keyboard mode. Steam Deck defaults to controller mode - if using a mouse and keyboard with the Steam Deck press TAB at the start of a match to force it to switch to mouse and keyboard mode.


[h3]Fixes[/h3]
  • Fixed an issue where Single-player Team games could generate a map with less than 4 start positions
  • Fixed an error with citizen display and movement

We are back with a new exciting update! We hope you are ready to grab your most trusted general and join forces against teams of AI! Not only that, but we have also added controller support if you want to take being an armchair general to the next level! - AND that's not all! We will be discounting Hexarchy for the duration of the Steam Deck Builder Fest! Allowing you and your friends to pick up Hexarchy with a 30% discount starting March 25th!

This update adds one of the most anticipated features to the game! The CO-OP update has been in the works for a little while and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do! The update includes:

[h3]Multiplayer Cooperative[/h3]
You will now be able to team up with another player to take on 1 or more AI teams, work together to achieve a combined score and win on points, or mount an unstoppable force and march it straight into the enemy lands!



[h3]Single Player Teams[/h3]
You will not only be able to play CO-OP with other players but you will also be able to play Singleplayer team games where you can team up with an AI and take on one more AI teams.

[h3]Full Controller Support[/h3]
You will also be able to play Hexarchy using your controller of choice! If you want to lay back on the couch and play in comfort, or if you simply just prefer using a controller over keyboard and mouse you now have that option! With our official layout, we recommend using the DPAD for navigation but feel free to experiment with different layouts and let us know your feedback.

Patch Notes for Update 1.1.926


[h3]New Game Modes[/h3]
  • Multiplayer Cooperative - play on a team with human players against one or more AI teams
  • Single Player Teams - play on a team with other AI players against one or more AI teams


[h3]Team Play Rules[/h3]
  • Each player still chooses their own civilization
  • All Wonder bonuses are shared
  • Cannot build duplicate Wonders with teammates, even on the same turn
  • Victory points are shared
  • Victory points required to win are multiplied by number of civilizations per team
  • Vision is shared with teammates
  • Cannot attack teammate units or cities
  • Cannot claim teammate territory


[h3]Controller Support[/h3]
  • Full controller support without use of mouse and keyboard
  • Recommend using DPAD for navigation with our official layout but joystick mouse can also be used
  • More improvements are planned - please give us your feedback


[h3]Balance[/h3]
  • All Technology hammer costs increased by 1-2 hammers
  • Paying to move a citizen makes moving the citizen free for the rest of the turn
  • AI tweaks


[h3]Misc[/h3]
  • More multiplayer data usage optimizations that should improve performance
  • New City, Holy Site, and Hut card illustrations
  • Added glow effect to Destroy Card button if no cards destroyed yet this turn
  • Dotted lines that indicate citizens working hexes are now bold for a city when the city hex is selected


[h3]Fixes[/h3]
  • Fixed issue where building an improvement on a hex would remove Battlefields
  • Fixed an issue where city pillages would remove nearby Battlefields
