V10.0 Progress Report and info!

Hey everyone!

We'd like to introduce you to the upcoming patch- V10.

This update will introduce many major additions & some map/environment changes. This post will be updated as we have new information so be sure to keep an eye on it/check it from time to time if you'd like to keep tabs on stuff coming down the pipeline.


NOTE: A restart will not be required, however, I will need to respawn all the trees and boulders within the world- so this may lead to issues with current builds within your save files. Also please refer to the map of the new road system (located farther below) as the future positioning of the road system may factor in to your current building plan(s). (Specifically how this will impact current bases is up in the air at the moment, perhaps some of you will like having a road through your living room. ːsteammockingː )

The AI changes have been removed from the v10 update that is slated to go live next week. Coordinating purchased assets has put things a bit behind schedule and rather than delay the patch, I will push the AI changes forward later.

Release: The projected arrival date for this update is the third week of August. We will update this post to reflect any delays/issues.

  1. The addition of a Vehicle that can store/carry large amounts of loot/material.
  2. Map/Environment changes that will include a new road network.
  3. New crafting stations.
  4. New items and content.
  5. Bug fixes & adjustments.
  6. Overall gameplay balancing.



[h2]New Truck Vehicle:[/h2]

This vehicle will be randomly spawned in a damaged state in a village location. Players will need to find & repair the truck it can be used, and it will require gasoline to run.

Repair cost:

15 x Mechanical Parts
20 x Iron Ingots
20 x Steel Ingots
25 x Plastic

Some vehicle features below:

  • Fully functional dashboard gauges (speedometer, RPM, Fuel Tank)
  • Interactive doors, hood and cargo box
  • The vehicle bed can hold logs, chests or stone crates. 2 stone crates, as many chests as you can fit (you can stack them very.....very high), or 21 logs - can even toss some stone crates on your stack of chests. (While the truck was being worked on to carry placeables, that feature has been removed, the idea may be revisited at a future time).
  • A flip button... In the event that this vehicle is stuck or upside down for example.
  • First Person driving view. (I may eventually add a third person view)
  • Head Lights added.
  • Added a truck/vehicle marker on the map.






[h2]New Buildings:[/h2]

The Garage:

The garage is a pre built building that players can construct (similar to the Greenhouse). This building's primary function is to be able to recall/teleport your truck back to base should you die or should it get stuck and you are unable to drive it. Simply looking at the building and pressing [E] will teleport the truck inside it.

Construction Materials:

90 x Cement
60 x Bricks
60 x Clay
24 x Planks




[h2]New Crafting Stations:[/h2]

The Oil Distiller:

This new placeable will allow players to craft gasoline for use with the truck. It functions similar to the forge by using a wood based fire to boil Oil Cans and produce gasoline. It requires 5 Oils Cans to produce 1 Gas Can.

Materials Needed:

20 x Iron Ingots
3 x Aluminum Ingots
3 x Plastic
8 x Planks




[h2]New Items:[/h2]

Gas Can: Produced using 5 Oils Cans on the Oil Distiller station.


Crossbow: Upgraded range weapon of the Bow. Deals double the damage and a greater durability.
Bolt: Used as the new Crossbow projectile.



Wool: Can be obtained by harvesting Sheep.
Carpet: Rectangular carpet made from wool.
Round Carpet: Round carpet made from wool.

Wool only has this one use at this time but I have plans to introduce new items that will require it in the near future.




Large Metal Gate: Double the width of the regular Wooden Gate and large enough to allow the Truck to pass through. It also has more durability than the wooden gate, from 400 to 2500.

Recipe:

75 X Iron Ingots
10 X Mechanical Parts
25 X Screws




Garbage Container: Placeable garbage bin designed for players to discard unwanted items quickly. When interacting with this container, players will see 2 buttons.

Button 1: Drop all items.. A quick swap of all items from your inventory to the container.
Button 2: Discard items.. Basically a confirmation button to destroy and delete all the items in the bin.

[h2]Map and Environment:[/h2]

A new road system will be included in this update. This will be useful when trying to drive to locations with the new vehicle.




[h2]Creative Settings:[/h2]

A few more game settings to allow players to build freely without the need to acquire technology and gather resources.

- Free Build: Allows all base construction and placeables to be built with no resource cost.

- Technologies: Toggle the need for technology blueprints. Disabling this setting will remove all technology prerequisites.

- God Mode: Enabling this setting will grant players immunity to all damage and pause all stat depletion.




[h2]Changes and Additions:[/h2]

CHANGE - Fish in ponds: Some behavior changes that seems to help performance when in range of many fish.
CHANGE - Added the ability to add/remove the Crossbow on the Weapons Rack.
CHANGE - Can now move/relocate gates.
CHANGE - Moved gates into the building/construction section. (Previously in the Others section)
ADDED - Added Shift+RMB to move complete stacks and changed Alt+RMB to move single items.
ADDED - Added Shift+RMB to move stacks of Iron Fragments to forge.
CHANGE - Solar Battery name changed to Battery Storage.
CHANGE - Solar Battery Tech BP name changed to Battery Tech BP.
ADDED - Take All button added to the brick forge.
CHANGE - Replaced the text of the Take All button in the storage chests with an arrow icon and tooltip.
ADDED - A pause game button added to the keybindings.



V9.6.2 Hotfix - Change update

Hi Everyone,

Yet another small update to fix and change a few things.

BUGFIX - Issue with the new Iron tip spike traps when moving them. If a player would upgrade them and keep them in that location, they worked fine. However, if the were moved after being upgraded, they would no longer work as intended. I have also added a fix to existing traps that were no longer working.

CHANGE - More Sun Resistance balancing. Slightly reduced its reduction rate and slightly increased its replenish rate in the shade.

ADDED - A new game setting to enable/disable Sun Resistance. Some players preferred the game without it and they can now disable it. (Note: I have not yet added translations to this setting, i will add it in the next few days when I get it.)

V9.6.1 Hotfixes and Changes!

Hi everyone,

Just a small hotfix update with a couple changes.


BUGFIX - Some players were getting stuck under the Ice in the winter when reloading the game while standing on Ice.

BUGFIX - Moving the new Iron upgraded spike traps would reset their durability to maximum.

CHANGE - Sun Resistance balancing. I am still trying to find a good balance between depletion and regeneration of the sun resistance stat. I have added more math that will allow it to deplete much faster when its very hot. Regeneration speed in the shade was also reduced.

CHANGE - Quite a few players have been telling me that they sometimes get stuck under stairs or behind objects while holding the log cart. To fix this issue, I have removed all collision checks when trying to drop the cart. Players can now drop it at any time, in any place. It can looks strange if dropped while clipping a wall or something but I suppose its better than getting stuck.

V9.6 is now live!

NEW VITAL STAT:

ADDED - Sun Resistance and Sunburn

When out in the sun, your sun resistance will slowly decrease. Once at 0, your thirst depletion rate will be increased by 3. You can avoid sun exposure and replenish your sun resistance by taking cover in the shade or inside your base. If both your sun resistance and thirst hit 0, you will develop a sunburn.

- Sunburns will slowly reduce your health if not treated.
- Craft and use Potato Paste to remedy sunburns.
- Any shadowed area (such as behind a tree) is considered to be shaded.
- If a day is cool, sun resistance will reduce at a slower pace.
- Days that are dark, cloudy or below freezing will not reduce sun resistance.
- Thirst depletion rate increased by 3 when your sun resistance is at 0.
- The sun is considered less strong in the evenings and early mornings, so the depletion rate is reduced.




OTHER ADDITIONS AND CHANGES:

CHANGE - Stone Grinder: Each stone will now grind into 10 sand and 2 Iron Fragments instead of 20 sand and 3 fragments.

CHANGE - I changed how dropping/spawning of items are handled. Items will drop at the players feet instead of a random distance in front of the player. This will solve the issue of items spawning on the other side of walls or landscape. The same applies for objects that spawn items, such as boulders.

CHANGE - If a players thirst is 0, your stamina will now reduce to 0. (Previously the player took health damage)

CHANGE - Players warnings bottom left of screen when a player is injured or hungry etc will now flash. Many were not noticing those icons there and hopefully this should help catch the eyes attention.

ADDED - Sound effect when hungry (stomach gurgling)
ADDED - Sound effect when thirsty (breathing/sigh)
ADDED - sound effect when energy is low (tired/yawn)
ADDED - sound effect when heat resistance is low (breathing/sigh)


BUG FIXES:

BUGFIX - There were additional instances where the log cart would end up under the landscape or in large boulders resulting in players losing sight of it.
