V9.6 Progress Report!

Hi Everyone,

I would like to share the progress of V9.6 Mini Update!

Here is a running list of additions/changes that are completed so far for the upcoming V9.6 Update. This post will be updated every few days so be sure to keep an eye on it if you'd like to keep tabs on stuff coming down the pipeline.

This update should be ready in about 1-2 weeks.

NEW CONTENT:

ADDED - The Oil Pump:

- Power Required: 150
- When an oil pump is constructed and has power, it will fuel available mineral extractors.


Recipe:

50 X Iron Ingots
20 X Steel Ingots
20 X Mechanical Parts
20 X Electrical Parts




ADDED - Iron Spike Trap

- Spike Trap Upgrade
- 500 Durability
- 0% chance of being destroyed in 1 hit like the regular spike trap
- Can be repaired using Iron Fragments.

Recipe:

20 X Iron Fragments




ADDED - Potato Paste

Consume to remedy sunburns and will increase your sun resistance by 25.

Recipe:

1 X Clay Bowl
1 X Potato




NEW VITAL STAT:

ADDED - Sun Resistance and Sunburn

When out in the sun, your sun resistance will slowly decrease. Once at 0, your thirst depletion rate will be increased by 3. You can avoid sun exposure and replenish your sun resistance by taking cover in the shade or inside your base. If both your sun resistance and thirst hit 0, you will develop a sunburn.

- Sunburns will slowly reduce your health if not treated.
- Craft and use Potato Paste to remedy sunburns.
- Any shadowed area (such as behind a tree) is considered to be shaded.
- If a day is cool, sun resistance will reduce at a slower pace.
- Days that are dark, cloudy or below freezing will not reduce sun resistance.
- Thirst depletion rate increased by 3 when your sun resistance is at 0.
- The sun is considered less strong in the evenings and early mornings, so the depletion rate is reduced.




OTHER ADDITIONS AND CHANGES:

CHANGE - Stone Grinder: Each stone will now grind into 10 sand and 2 Iron Fragments instead of 20 sand and 3 fragments.

CHANGE - I changed how dropping/spawning of items are handled. Items will drop at the players feet instead of a random distance in front of the player. This will solve the issue of items spawning on the other side of walls or landscape. The same applies for objects that spawn items, such as boulders.

CHANGE - If a players thirst is 0, your stamina will now reduce to 0. (Previously the player took health damage)

CHANGE - Players warnings bottom left of screen when a player is injured or hungry etc will now flash. Many were not noticing those icons there and hopefully this should help catch the eyes attention.

ADDED - Sound effect when hungry (stomach gurgling)
ADDED - Sound effect when thirsty (breathing/sigh)
ADDED - sound effect when energy is low (tired/yawn)
ADDED - sound effect when heat resistance is low (breathing/sigh)


BUG FIXES:

BUGFIX - There were additional instances where the log cart would end up under the landscape or in large boulders resulting in players losing sight of it.

V9.5 Hotfix Update!

Hi everyone,

Just a few hotfixes.

BUGFIX - Onions Soup mix would sometimes not boil and turn into Onion Soup.
BUGFIX - Could not add clean water to the pot in order to make Onion Soup.
BUGFIX - Toggling the Stone Grinder on/off would sometimes result in power usages math errors. This would cause the Power Out in the control panel to be wrong.
BUGFIX - Onions were spawning in the winter.
BUGFIX - All food plants were spawning in winter only game play.

V9.4 Now live!

Hi Everyone.

So V9.4 is now live on all branches.

Please report any bugs to the bug report section here on Steam. When possible please form one thread for each bug versus multiple threads for the same issue- it helps keep the community information together.

ADDED - Onions: New vegetable grown in the wild. They can also be grown on the plant bed using onion sprouts.
ADDED - Onions Sprouts: Obtained by harvesting onions and can also be found while looting villages.
ADDED - Onion Soup: Made on the stove in a pot. Add at least 100 water and 1 onion to the pot and let it boil. Once cooked, use a Clay Bowl to grab the soup. Adds +1 to your max thirst when consumed.
ADDED - Clay Bowl: Made on the workbench with 3 clay, used to take soup out of the pot.



ADDED - The Stone Grinder: Add stone like the stone crate and let this machine grind small stones automatically if you have sufficient power. [E] to add stones and [RMB] to take the sand and fragments. I have added a way to discard all the sand [H] and keep only the fragments for those who do not want sand.

- Requires 100 Power.
- Grinds small stones into sand and iron fragments.
- Each stone will provide 20 sand and 3 fragments.
- It takes 25 seconds to grind each stone.

Build Recipe:
12 x Electrical Parts
6 x Mechanical Parts
20 x Iron Ingots
5 x Planks




Food Changes:

CHANGE - The Stew Mix now requires 1 onion to make. (1 raw fish, 1 raw meat, 1 potato and 1 onion)
CHANGE - Rations recipe change (1 stew mix, 1 melon, 3 mushrooms and 1 plastic)
CHANGE - Rations: +1 max proteins, +1 max carbs and +1 max fats when consumed (max 200)
CHANGE - Veggie Salad: +1 max vitamins when consumed (max 200)
CHANGE - Fruit Salad perish time increased from 4 hours to 22 hours.
CHANGE - Veggie Salad perish time increased from 4 hours to 22 hours.


Other Changes:

CHANGE - Control Panel component toggle.
Added by popular demand, you can toggle components that require power on/off from the control panel.
CHANGE - No more food plant spawns in the winter, get yourself ready with some plant beds in the warmer months.
ADDED - Map marker for the Log Cart. Just a plain red circle to identify the carts location.
ADDED - Take all button on chests and extractors.
ADDED - Some have requested a way to remove any held weapons. Pressing [0] will now remove it.




Bug Fixes:

BUGFIX - Log Carts disappearing at cave entrances.
BUGFIX - Clicking the OK button of the settings UI was not closing it.
BUGFIX - Saving and reloading a file during a Horde Event would cancel the event.
BUGFIX - Dropping used/broken clothes on the ground and reloading the game would result in their durability being restored.

Community Updates

There will be some tweaking & reorganization of the Steam Forums & our Community Discord over the next week as things are updated and rearranged. The community Trello will also be updated with a new section detailing the Developers thoughts on some commonly requested features/changes.
For both the Discord and the Forums- don't be surprised to see things added/removed/moved!

9.4 Progress Report!

Hi Everyone,

I know I mentioned that the last mini update would be the last one before V10 came out, but!

V10 has evolved to encompass some fairly significant work and changes under the hood. Because of this content overhaul, V10 will require about 2-3 months before being released.

To cover some of the time before the next major update, I will aim for a few smaller content updates that won't interfere with the content/changes coming in V10. Details on what's included in V10 will be shared at some point in the near future.

Here is a running list of additions/changes that are completed so far for the upcoming V9.4 Update. This post will be updated every few days so be sure to keep an eye on it if you'd like to keep tabs on stuff coming down the pipeline.

Mini Update 9.3!

Hey everyone!

This will be the final mini update before V10.0 is released. This update is focused on AI optimization and combat behavior(s). FPS and overall game performance should also be better on this update.

AI Changes:

CHANGE - AI behavior optimization, boost to game play performance.
CHANGE - Performance tweak: Village AI will now spawn in when Player gets within specific distance of village as opposed to on game load.

ADDED - Vambies are starting to develop new behaviors & skills that tie in to their unique nature. When engaged in combat with the player, there is a chance the Vambie will retreat to heal themselves up. They can jump away, run away, or utilize their new teleport mechanic to phase out of range to safety.



ADDED - Vambie behavior- observation. Enemy AI may now observe players at a distance before choosing to engage or retreat.




Other Changes and Additions:

CHANGE - Visibility in Blizzards decreased.
CHANGE - No more fog/mist intrusion into player bases.
CHANGE - Control panel now lists quantity of each type of power source.
CHANGE - Fresh games will spawn an extra ration of sticks & stones in close proximity to the player.
CHANGE - Modifications to the village loot item spawn list.
CHANGE - Increased perish time of raw and baked potatoes to 12 hours.

ADDED - 2 new game settings-- these may be changed when loading a game as well as on the start of a new save.

1) By default a month takes 60 real time minutes but players can now adjust that time to suit their game play style.
2) Players can now toggle between playing with all 4 seasons, only winter or only summer.
Please note that choosing "Only Winter" means you cannot fish, as the water will remain frozen.




Bug Fixes:

BUGFIX - Dead Scorpion would sometimes read "Harvest Fox".
BUGFIX - Under the hood Errors for Patrolling AI in the AI combat component.
BUGFIX - All Doors now have a nav blocker do ensure no more lag when opening/closing doors.
BUGFIX - Adding an inner half wall on top of the full inner wall would casue the half wall to destroy.
BUGFIX - Various adjustments to the building systems alignment of parts.
BUGFIX - Some french translation fixes.
BUGFIX - Animals will no longer catapult players in the air when bumping into them.
