Animaze 1.26.12617 now live with improved Sony mocopi® support and more!

Hello Awesome People!

We're happy to announce that the Animaze update featuring enhanced support for the Sony mocopi® sensor is now live on the main branch.
Thank you to everyone who tested it on the Next Version preview last week.

Using Sony mocopi you can enjoy fast, accurate body motions in both full-body and upper-body modes, overcoming the typical limitations of video-based body tracking. Animaze is now an official partner of Sony mocopi.
Three Raynos-chan avatars are also preinstalled in Animaze.

If you have multiple network adapters (real or virtual), you may need to use Windows tools like ipconfig to find your PC's correct IP address, instead of simply copying over the autodetected one. Also, ensure to allow the connection in your firewall settings.

Animaze changelog:
 • added a smoothing option to chase camera mode (F2) for improving full-body filming control,
 • added an animation mirror and a smoothing option to the Sony mocopi tracker, useful if you want to Left-Right mirror your body motion capture data, but don’t want to mirror any writing or branding that you might have on your avatar.
 • fixed a bug where Sony mocopi implementation reported an initialization error when the local IP has changed between sessions,
 • fixed a bug where some trackers were not properly reporting the tracking frequency,
 • fixed a bug specific to Tobii eye tracker 4C not properly initializing,
 • fixed a bug with VRM tail tips not showing properly,
 • fixed a bug where UI prompts to install an older Ultraleap generation driver even if the new Ultraleap Hyperion service is already installed,
 • fixed a bug with look-at-camera, enhanced body motion and inferred yaw behaviors on some VRM avatars,
 • fixed a bug where the import button was not being shown on the standalone version,
 • fixed a bug where the Manage Subscription button was not being shown,
 • various aesthetic changes to the Sony mocopi tracker UI

The summary of the latest mocopi updates is here, the Animaze specific segment is around the 9-minute mark.

This is for now an unlisted video. It will go live on our main channel when the current build on next-version also makes it to the live branch.

New Props and Next-Version branch update: Animaze 1.26.12598

Hello Awesome People,

As an early herald of upcoming hand and body motion capture updates, we are adding three more holdable props to the starting prop set.
A scepter of light (which gives off actual light if you use a properly lit 3D model) and two types of magic wands.

They are live now in the prop browser on the live branch, on the Next-Version branch, and even for the Animaze 2023 historical snapshot users.

For those of you who are more involved with the community, we have also pushed an early update on the Next-Version beta branch with specific bugfixes for testing, before it makes its way to the main one:

Animaze 1.26.12598 Changelog:
 • Fixed a bug specific to Tobii eye tracker 4C not properly initializing,
 • Fixed a bug with new Vroid Studio VRM tail tips not showing properly,
 • Fixed a bug where the blue avatar import button was not being shown on the Standalone version,
 • Fixed a bug where the in-app Manage Subscription UI shortcut was not being shown,
 • Various changes to Sony Mocopi tracker UI.

As a reminder, here are ways to move arms or body in Animaze today on supported humanoid avatars, (not necessarily in any particular order):

Via tracking:
 • Keyboard and mouse override.
 • UltraLeap device
 • mocopi device - Sony's motion tracker.
 • Perception Neuron full body motion capture suit
 • From a webcam, via a VMC sender app like XR Animator or Webcam Motion Capture (or any other body VMC sender).
 • Analog input from a Windows gamepad.

Via button-triggered animations, or special poses:
 • Special actions or special poses built into the model itself or retargeted from the generalized mannequin.
 • Animations loaded in from Mixamo, as idles or special actions.

Via procedural modules:
 • Procedurally via the enhanced body motion for 3D or 2D avatars functionality in Overrides
 • The "Animaze webcamless Face and Body Extension" in the tracker list uses the same subsystems as Animaze Chatpal.

Adding or removing holdable props dynamically during your performance is best done via Quick scenes.

Ready to Go Bananas? Brutus is ready for monkey business.

The jungle adventure begins today.

Whether used for teaching a biology class, stepping in for Harambe, or performing the best karaoke cover of King Louie's "I Want to Be Like You", Brutus is up for the task.

Download Brutus the gorilla avatar on Animaze.us and transform your online presence. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail from the twinkle in his eye to his infectious grin, Brutus responds with stunning accuracy, turning every nuance of your expression into an animated reality.
Because he is a chonky boy to render, (high-quality ape model), he is, for now, available on Windows PC only.

Empire State Building not included, but we are adding a free banana prop.

[Fixed]: April 10th, 2024 - Animaze server issue.
Update April 11th, 2024:
Hello Awesome People!

Cloud services for all Animaze Desktop functionalities should be restored as of this moment.
We have pushed Desktop build updates across the board, both on Steam and standalone.

On Steam the update should occur normally, like with any Steam app. You might need to restart the Steam client if you don't see the update coming your way.

On the standalone Animaze version, you might have to manually download the new Launcher, install it, and then go and click "Check for new versions" button in its settings before installing Animaze.

The correct versions are:
 • Steam Animaze: 1.26.12587
 • Standalone launcher: 1.26.12587
 • Standalone Animaze: 1.26.12587

Any lower and it means you are on a version that needs updating.
Original announcement:
Hello Awesome People,

Unfortunately earlier today we were notified by an AWS agent of a certain server-related issue that might cause some disruption in Animaze functionality for some of you.
It should only affect the standalone version, but it might have some rippling effects on the Steam version in certain circumstances for users on a Plus or Pro sub.

Addressing this depends on a bespoke action from the AWS team we are currently waiting on.
We are very sorry for any inconvenience.
