[Dev Log - 04] Myth of Empires - Monthly Development Progress Report


Greetings, everyone. Here is some of the stuff we’ve been working on for the month of May. We’ll be showing some of this stuff off in the near future, so stay tuned!

[h3]1. Game World[/h3]
We have completed filling out the game world with various terrains, animals, plants, strongholds, minerals, and other resources. We are now testing and optimizing the whole map. The environmental variety of the global alpha test was relatively weak compared to what will ultimately be in the game, including mountains, canyons, snowy regions, Gobi-esque desert, swamps, and other terrain. The game will also feature more varied wildlife, including elephants, rhinos, tigers, crocodiles, fish, more insects, birds, as well as more plants and minerals.

[h3]2. Weather[/h3]
In the alpha test version of the game, there were two weather states: rain and sun. The weather will be further refined and varied, and will change depending on the environment. For example, it will snow in mountainous areas, there will be mist in swamps, and the sun will be scorching hot in the desert regions. Some weather states will adversely affect the player. Additional weather states like cloudy, overcast, thunderstorms, and sandstorms will also appear.

[h3]3. Large Scale Battles[/h3]
In the alpha test, we tested County Battles. Larger-scale Prefecture Battles and Pass Battles are being developed and will be an important part of guild gameplay. Once development of these modes is complete, they will undergo extensive testing to ensure balanced and fair gameplay.

[h3]4. Character Animations[/h3]
We have completed two rounds of motion capture work and are in the process of implementing and optimizing these animations. These include combat animations in various states, as well as harvesting, logging, and planting. We will show off some of these improved animations in the future.

[h3]5. Other Additions (not a comprehensive list):[/h3]
Players will be able to prospect and mine underground minerals
Guild management is vastly improved, allowing leaders to more effectively manage the work of the guild members
NPCs are being reworked so that players will be able to customize their appearance
We are adding more crops so that players can make more different kinds of foods, materials, and medicines
We are adding an auction house at which players can sell and trade resources
We are adding more buildings and a new type of building material
We are adding other functions and content based upon feedback received in the alpha test

The above content is part of what we’ve been working on this month. We will show you this content as well as disclose some of the other things we’ve been working on in the future.
