Myth of Empires News

As in most sandbox games, resource collection is a major part of Myth of Empires. Based on feedback we collected during the alpha test, we’ve been making adjustments, optimizations, and additions to this system, to ensure that it’s balanced, fun, and immersive.

Here’s look at a couple of tools we’ve recently added that will help you quickly collect grass and stone.

In the previous dev log, we previewed a never-before-seen area of Myth of Empires, the summit mine. As we continue development of the game, we have been adding lots of other new content, as well. Today we’re going to take a look at some of the new food, medicine, and wine recipes that we’ve been working on since the alpha test. The recipes featured here have been derived from traditional dishes and medicines. As players level up and increase their Proficiency, they will be able to unlock these recipes, and then use materials to make them. Different kinds of food will affect different attributes, like HP limit, hunger, weight limit, speed, damage, and recovery.

As the gaming industry has matured and games have become more cinematic, music has likewise become a critical part of the gaming experience.

The second video in our Behind the Scenes series takes a look at how the music for Myth of Empires was produced, composed, and brought to the game. The music was directed by famous Hong Kong producer, Paco Wong; produced by graduate of the Berklee College of Music, Walter Wong; and conducted by Alex Au, who has a master’s in music from the University of York.

Paco Wong and his team worked with Angela Game to provide most of the music in the game, including the theme song, background music, battle music, and faction themes. Their orchestra has finished recording, and their work will appear in the game at a later date.

In addition to the music accentuating the game’s Eastern themes, we also hope that it makes Myth of Empires a more cinematic and immersive experience for our players.

Starting from today, we’re going to be sharing with you some of the content we’ve been working on, in the form of mini-teasers and dev logs.

We’re also working on feedback from the alpha test, optimizing the game and fixing bugs to better improve the experience for future tests.

The summit mine is a snow-covered mining pit located in the mountainous regions of the Eastern Continent. The largest mine of its kind, it is a target for adventurers seeking rare ore. Those who venture here will need to bring items to protect themselves from the cold, as well as be prepared to fight dangerous mountain wildlife and factions.



This section of the Myth of Empires map is still under development and will appear in a future version.

Last week, we held the first global closed alpha test for Myth of Empires, and the enthusiasm we saw during this test exceeded our wildest expectations. Thank you to everyone who applied, everyone who helped test the game, and everyone who submitted feedback!
