Challenge Editor Beta coming soon!

We're glad to tell you that internal testing of Challenge Editor is going on without critical problems, and we'll make this beta open before the end of this month.

Releasing this Beta will be the biggest update in the game's history yet. We'll create a separate topic in Steam Discussions and a separate channel on our Discord server for sharing and downloading challenges made by you, players. We'd like to make it possible to upload challenges on a server so that you can download and upload them without exiting the game. So, if you don't want to make your own challenges, you'll still have the content to play.

If editor will be popular, we'll gradually extend its functionality. It all depends on your support.
Besides the Editor, we're working on fixing especially annoying bugs and rewriting code of the project (a quick reminder: we decided to re-write the game almost from scratch. For example, the new version uses much faster and reliable algorithm of route search). Another functionality to implement is the new version of World map (we hope to make it scrollable from both sides, as you asked). However, this is going to take quite a lot of time, so the scheduled arrival of reworked version is this atumn, closer to the release of the game.

But we have other plans to bring into life beforehand: improve saving system and optimize performance when creating new routes on the late game stages, when there is a huge number of routes.
We read your messages and try to adjust out plans in accordance with your desires. We might not always succeed in making things as quick as we would like to, but all noticeable and useful bugreports and requests are put in our task tracker.

Below you can see a picture which will be displayed if event "Show message to player" is triggered by Editor - creator of the challenge will have the possibility to show any text to player so that he sees it in the specified moment of gameplay. If you combine it with other events, like adding or subtracting money, unlocking countries or cities, you can create interesting situations. Maybe, you would like to create a story-driven challenge? As always, feel free to write whether you are going to try yourself in creating Challenges in the comments (maybe, you've already got some ideas about them?)

We have released a new update

We have released a small update.

We altered the mechanism of counting your score after completing time-limited challenges (Unlock N countries and get N credits for the certain period of time). We added a new coefficient for the final player's count. Earlier, players didn't have the necessity to hurry up, and it was more profitable to play to the final point when the time was almost up. Now, the faster you complete the challenge, the bigger is the multiplier (starting at 0% and finishing with 100%). For example, if you need to unlock 5 countries for 10 minutes and you did it for 9 minutes, the remaining time (1 minute) is 10% from this time, meaning that your final score will be multiplied by 10%, which is 1,1.

Also:
  • We added 2 missing pictures for random events (about virus and results of charity and PR campaign events).
  • Fixed a problem with generation of passengers, which appeared for some players when playing for a long time and using save files.
  • Fixed some localizations for certain languages.

Our ideas regarding the next updates of the game

We'd like to share you our ideas on one of the next updates for both PCs and mobile platforms.

As we told earlier, we're getting ready to begin the open beta test of challenge editor. But we need to make sure it's ready for it by testing it internally. We'll create various challenges threougout the test. We need to check many different situations and ensure that nothing breaks. As a result, we'll be able to create at least ten challenges. Probably, we'll post them as "Daily challenges". It means that every day, one challenge will be chosen, and everyone will be able to compete by scoring the largest number of points possible.

Update 06 April, 2022 - Pictures for Random events!

The update with pictures for random events has been published! The corresponding update for mobile devices is coming a bit later.

While testing it, we even stumbled across an opinion that it's hard to imagine events without them.



We have plans for more visual improvements in the future. For example, we'd like to improve appearance of the map, but it will require a lot of time due to some technical difficulties while we're now focused on more important things.



We understand that many potential players are discouraged by the visuals, and this is why your feedback is very important for us. Don't hesitate to tell us your opinion on Steam page of our game - we appreciate it. Thank you! We'll do our best to keep you satisfied in the game.

Update 03 Feb 2022 and plans for the future!

Hello, dear players!
In this post we'll tell you about what was fixed in today's patch and what's being worked on right now. From time to time, we see comments from people complaining that updates aren't released as frequently as they would like. We agree, but the game has been worked on every single day.

So, here's what we fixed in today's update:
- Fixed a bug which caused level 2 planes and airports to remain at level 2 after restart (if random event about upgraded planes or airport was triggered);
- Fixed bug with removing routes to or from blocked city;
- Fixed bug when money wasn't added to your balance after the event in which you get money and 3 cities are unlocked instantly;
- Fixed translations of reduced passenger flow event. Fixed logics of "Yes/No" choice in this event;
- Fixed font size of newly unlocked cities;
- Other minor fixes.

Why updates are worked on for more time than we planned? As we told before, Fly Corp is being developed since Summer of 2019. Initially, it was a strictly experimental product - we haven't developed anything like this before. But, the more work we put into this game, the more confidence we had that we were doing everything the right way. But, newer versions inherited the code of bad quality from earlier versions, and we had to maintain this code. Now we're working on re-writing it along with fixing bugs. As a part of this effort, random events system was made almost from scratch. We plan to support Fly Corp for a long time, and this is why it's very important to bring it into a good state under the hood so that it will become easier to develop the game.

Here are some recent news:
1. Finally, all the pictures for random events are finished! As always, we're publishing some of them for you to take a look. Now our task is to implement them.



2. We're working on releasing Challenge Editor Beta. We promised to release it in 2021, but everything is much more difficult than we thought. But we're still actively working on it. We don't want to talk about the date in order not to accidentally tell you something that is not true.
3. We're reading your bug reports and are taking notes of some problems of the game. For example, we're thinking on ways of improving logics of negative events right after the game starts. Now, in rare cases, in Unlock All Countries mode, player can lose the game just because there was an unfortunate set of events.

Also, we have more thoughts about the next versions of the game, and we'd like to speak with you about some ideas. We'll tell you more about that later.
