🧙‍♂️ Development Updates #40


In the last 2 weeks we were mainly working on finishing the ice boss, adding Magic Hands always visible near player and many QOL changes.

[h2]✅ Added:[/h2]
  • [Enemies] Finished Freyja, Queen of Ice who is a newly added boss!
  • [QOL / Spells Merging] Merged projectiles in spells are now less random - added large chance for them to fire towards cursor or your current position.
  • [QOL] Magic Hands are now always visible near the character. Thanks to this change it feels much better to cast spells now.
  • [QOL] It's now possible to hover over icons in Items and Perks descriptions to see what they represent.
  • [QOL] Adventurer NPC now displays number of completed and all existing challenges.
  • [QOL / Settings] Added option to switch Basic Spell into auto-fire mode in the settings (making it work as a toggle).
  • [Main Menu] Added popup informing about important Early Access stuff in the right-up corner of the Main Menu.
  • [Achievements] Added 2 new Achievements (for finishing the tutorial and for dying for the first time).
  • [Perks] Added 2 new Perks (related to mana).
  • [Biomes] Added small fog effect inside some of the cemetery areas in the ice level.


[h2]🔄 Changed:[/h2]
  • [QOL] It's now possible to stomp by simply pressing the down arrow button without the need of pressing both "Jump" and "Down Arrow" buttons at the same time. It made stomping way easier to use.
  • [Spells Merging] [Buff] Changed many spell merged effects from simple "Casts SACRIFICED_SPELL when casting MAIN_SPELL" to "Casts X-Y SACRIFICED_SPELL(s) in the nearby area of casted MAIN_SPELL".
  • [Spells Merging] [Buff] Luck increases spells merging success chance by 0.7 => 1.75 for every luck.
  • [Shopkeeper] Killing the Shopkeeper in any level will cause him to not spawn in the next level, but in the levels afterwards he will always attack the player on sight.
  • [NPCs] Quest NPC can no longer spawn in the first level of the first difficulty level. It was done to reduce amount of things thrown at the new player at once.
  • [Inventory] Renamed "Disposable" tab to "Miscallenous".
  • [Items / Perks] Reworked Magic Root artifact and Garden Perk. Now they heal few times faster, but can heal only up to 30% maximum health instead of full health.
  • [Spells] Reduced spells mana cost increase for every grade level by 30%. Spells found on higher levels will no longer cost insane amount of mana.
  • [Weapons] Increased Fiery Blade damage by 120%
  • [Weapons] Increased Crystalline Sword damage by 350% - it's also no longer available from the beginning.


[h2]⚙️ Fixed:[/h2]
  • [UI / Settings] Updated keybindings are now properly shown in spells and minimap UI after changing controls in the settings.
  • [Shop] Fixed a bug where sometimes the Shopkeeper's fight theme could play as soon as you started new level (even though he was not enraged).
  • [Ladders] Player should no longer get stuck on ladders when trying to jump while climbing. The bug was causing you to "jump on ladder with close to 0 force".


[h2]❌ Removed:[/h2]
  • [Quests] Removed Mana Infusion quest from possible Quest NPC quests.
